Blane F. "Tom" Frederick, 66, of Grantsville, died Wednes-day, Oct. 23, 1996, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. He was born at Lower Run, Calhoun County, a son of the late Owen and Mirl Yeager Frederick. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a former welder for Freuhauf Corp. and was a heavy equipment operator. Surviving are three daughters, Susan Davis and Pam Parsons, both of Grantsville, and Joyce Smith of Big Springs; one brother, Owen Eugene Frederick of Elyria, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Mike Worf officiating. Burial was in Yeager cemetery, near Grantsville.
FRESHOUR, WILLARD D.
Willard Dewitte Freshour, 61, of Harmony, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1996, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of Thelma Ruth Miller Freshour of Harmony and the late Lora Freshour. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a paratrooper. He retired from Demuth/Brockway Glass Co., Vienna, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are one sister, Louverna May Lynn of Charleston; two brothers, Wayne Freshour of Harmony and William Freshour of Logan; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by one niece, Lora Lynn; and one nephew, Preston Robert Freshour. Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spen-cer, with Rev. Eldon Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Freshour Family cemetery near Harmony.

Harlow Charles George, 56, of Spencer, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. He was born in Annamoriah. Surviving are his caregivers with whom he resided, Delmar and Janet Matheny of Spencer. Services were held at graveside at Mt. Zion cemetery, near Spencer, with Rev. Rick Perrine officiating.

Hazel L. Godfrey, 32, of Grantsville, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, at her residence after a sudden illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of Elouise Stemple of Grantsville and the late Homer Parsons. She was a homemaker. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Bill Godfrey of Grantsville; one daughter, Tiffany Godfrey of the home; one stepson, William Lee Godfrey of Parkersburg; six stepdaughters, Emajean Youngeberg of Wakeman, Ohio, Nina McCartney of East Liverpool, Ohio, Luella Moore of Marietta, Rosemarie Croft of Warsaw, Ohio, Sharon Smith and Frances Adwell, both of Grantsville; one brother, Homer Parsons of Grantsville; 16 stepgrandchildren; and 16 stepgreat- grandchildren. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating, and burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Mary Sue Goodrich, 55, of Mt. Zion, died Saturday, May 11, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of Dessel Tanner Wright of Arnoldsburg and the late Cecil Cleo Wright. She was a former employee of Kellwood Co., Spencer. Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, David Goodrich and Michael Goodrich, both of Mt. Zion; six sisters, Betty Harbaugh of Penmar, Pa., Louise Saunders of Barberton, Ohio, Virginia Holbert of Belpre, Hazel Nichols of Spencer, Marie Dotson of Lakeland, Fla., and Linda Staton of Millstone; four brothers, Cecil Wright of Lebanon, Va., Willard Wright of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Darrell Wright and Gerald Wright, both of Arnoldsburg; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Goodrich; one sister, Dottie Wright; and one brother, Stanley Wright. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. John Ellison officiating, and burial in Sycamore Baptist Church cemetery, Millstone.

Michael Wayne Goodrich, 33, of Mt. Zion, died Saturday, July 13, 1996, near Grantsville. He was born in Braxton Cowity, a son of the late William and Mary Sue Wright Goodrich. He was an employee of Hinkle & McCoy Corp., Elkhart, Ind. Surviving are one son, Cody Goodrich of, Liverpool; two daughters, Mattia Goodrich and Tanna Goodrich, both of Liverpool- and one brother, David Goodrich of Mt. Zion. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. John Ellison officiating. Burial was in Sycamore cemetery, Millstone.

Lewis Deo "Deacon" Greathouse, 68, of Grantsville, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. He was born at Mt. Zion, a son of the late James William and Lydia Shaffer Greathouse. Surviving are his wife, Goldie Starcher Greathouse; five sons, Roger Starcher of Copperas Cove, Tex., Richard Starcher of Creston, Donald Starcher, Arnold Greathouse and Ronald Greathouse, all of Grantsville; three daughters, Linda Carpenter of Mt. Zion, Debbie Sampson and Judy Hall, both of Grantsville; two brothers, Simon Greathouse of Grantsville and Burl Greathouse of Alexander City, Ala.; one sister, Gwendolyn Smith of Jeannette, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Willard Greathouse, Okie Greathouse, Ernest Greathouse and Thurman Greathouse; and three sisters, Mildred Greathouse, Mary Greathouse and Mary Simmons. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Phillip Hickman, Rev. Alfred Hickman and Rev. D.L. Kerby officiating. Burial was in St. Paul cemetery.

Lenore Gulley, 90, of Grantsville, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Division. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Charles and Willa Johnson Starcher. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville. Surviving are one daughter, Betty Wilson Reading of Dunbar; two granddaughters, Paula Askren of Craig, Alaska, and Brenda Hamilton of Dayton; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Paul Gulley. Services were held Sunday at Stump Funeral Home, Grants-ville, with Rev. Mike Worf officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.

Edward Hall, 83, of Spencer, died Monday, April 22, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Hence and Ida Sherry Hall. He was a farmer, construction worker and a member of American Laborers Union 1085. He was a member of Otto Senior Citizens and Otto Advent Christian Church, Spencer, for more than 50 years. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Schreckengost Hall; three daughters, Phyllis Nichols of Elizabeth, Linda Nichols of Waterford and Dian Harper of Spencer, two sons, Paul Hall of Mineral Wells and Kenneth Hall of Spencer; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Lemaster; three brothers, Marvin Hall, Freeman Hall and Vear Hall; and two half- brothers, William Hall and Cyrus Hall. Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spen-cer, with Rev. John Ellison and Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial was in Otto cemetery.

Freer Randal Hall, Sr., 74, of Cloverdale Community, St. Marys, died Friday, May 31, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Beech, a son of the late Doy and Bertha J. Price Hall. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II with the 10th Mountain Division Ski Troops in Italy from 1944-1945. He retired in 1983 from Monongahela Power, Willow Island Power Station, as a shift supervisor after 36 years. He enjoyed playing bluegrass music and was a farmer. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Virginia Dare Wallbrown Hall; five sons, Amos Richard "Dick" Hall, Roger Lee Hall and Jerry Edward Hall, all of St. Marys, Freer Randal Hall, Jr., of Palatine, Ill., and Alan Dale Hall of Williamstown; one daughter, Randa Dare Gregg of St. Marys; one brother, Harold B. Hall of Hartville, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wade Hall and Ernest Hall. Services were held at Ruttencutter Funeral Home, St. Marys, with Rev. Chuck Boston officiating. Burial was in Cloverdale cemetery.

Juanita K. Hall, 83, of Millstone, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996, in Parkersburg. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Wait and Loretta Ball Mace. She was a Calhoun County Belle in 1984 and was a member of Arnoldsburg Home Extension Homemakers Club, Rebekah Lodge of Minnora, and Albert's Chapel United Methodist Church, Sand Ridge. Surviving are one son, Harry L. Vannoy of Parkersburg; and one granddaughter, Dorthea Vannoy of Bridgeport, Conn. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kester Vannoy; second husband, Albert D. Hall; and one sister, Wanda Nitz. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating. Burial was in Sand Ridge cemetery.
HAMILTON, NANCY L.
Nancy L. Hamilton, 51, of Oak Hill, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 1996, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley. She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of Audrey Winter Hamilton of Vienna and the late William K. Hamilton of Calhoun County. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, West Virginia University, Marshall University and Syracuse University. She was a music teacher at Fayetteville Elementary, Fayetteville, and previously taught at Green Cove Springs, Fla., Corning, N.Y., and West Virginia Tech, Montgomery. She was a member of Spade and Trowel Garden Club, Oak Hill, American Association of University Women, Beckley Community Chorus, Music Educators National Conference, and TOPS, and choir director at First Presbyterian Church, Oak Hill. Surviving in addition to her mother are two sisters, Daphne Hamilton of Worcester, Mass., and Jennifer Hamilton of Altamont, N.Y.; one brother, Douglas Hamilton of Huntington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Miss Hamilton's body was cremated. Services were held at First Presbyterian Church, Oak Hill, with Rev. Frederick Beck officiating. Remains were buried at Bethlehem cemetery, Grantsville.
