JONES, PATRICIA WEBB

Patricia Webb Jones, 35, of Big Springs, died Friday, June 14, 1996, in Grantsville. She was born in Ritchie County, a daughter of Henry DeVaughn of Pullman and Mary Grove DeVaughn of Grantsville. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with Harrison Street United Methodist Church, Harrisville. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Donald Jones; five brothers, Michael DeVaughn and Jake DeVaughn, both of Pullman, Henry DeVaughn of Cornwallis, Willie DeVaughn of Canton, Ohio, and Barney DeVaughn of Akron, Ohio; and two sisters, Debbie Mason of Harrisville and Bernice Elliott of Parkersburg. She was preceded in death by three children and one brother. Services were held at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Rev. Harlan Hodge officiating. Burial was in I00F cemetery, Harrisville.

JONES, RAYMOND R.

Raymond R. Jones, 60, of Arnoldsburg Road, Spencer, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1996, at the residence of his caretakers. He was born in MacFarland, a son of the late Luther and Emma Jones. He had attended Arnoldsburg Community Church. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Cleston Garrett officiating.

KAISER, KATHRYN M.

Kathryn M. Kaiser, 79, of Athalia, Ohio, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1996, at her residence. She was born in Grantsville, a daughter of the late Dr. James A. and Margaret Stalnaker Morford. She was a member of Rome Church of Christ and O.E.S., Grantsville, and co-owner and operator of Kaiser Fruit Farm. Surviving are her husband, Harold "Buddy" Kaiser; son and daughter- in-law, Stewart and Vicki Kaiser of Proctorville; grand-daughter, Michelle Kaiser of Seattle, Wash.; grandson, James Kaiser of Houston, Tex.; two brothers, James Morford of Grantsville and Dr. Warren Morford of Chesapeake, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Kaiser, and a brother, John William Morford. Services were held at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio, with Minister Steve Smith officiating. Burial was in Rome cemetery, Proctorville.

KEATON, JUDITH A.

Judith Ann Keaton, 90, of Orma, died Friday, Mar. 22, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. She was born in Orma, a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Norman Duncan. She was a retired employee of Union Carbide Co., Alloy. She was a member of AFL-CIO and Rebekah Lodge, Minnora. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, animals and farm life. She was a Baptist. Surviving are three daughters, Madelyn Perry, Corinne Guss and Jean Hughes, all of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Kenneth Keaton of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; twin sisters, Ida Siers of Grantsville and Lida Bailey of Orma; one brother, M.R. McCune of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. G.W. Keaton; one infant son, George Keaton, Jr.; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Michael E. Hall officiating. Burial was in Prudence Chapel cemetery, Minnora.

KEENER, EUGENE M.

Eugene M. Keener, 67, of Grantsville, died Friday, May 3, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. He was born in Roane County. He was a former timberman, farmer and pipeline right-of-way maintenance worker. Surviving are five sons, Raymond Keener of Spencer, Johnny Keener of Grantsville, David Keener of Washington, Dennis Keener of Charleston and Jimmy Keener of Orma; four daughters, Linda Peggs of Clendenin, Connie Schoolcraft of Grantsville, Charolette Wine and Brenda Tuggle, both of Elizabeth; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie M. Keener; one son; three brothers; and one sister. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Ogden cemetery, Newton.

KELLEY, EDNAL

Ednal Kelley, 82, of Grantsville, died Sunday, June 2, 1996, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Jacob and Amanda Bennett Harden. She was a homemaker and member of Cherry Fork United Methodist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Garnet Barr and Betty Craddock, both of Grantsville, Keatie Kelley Wease of Novi, Mich., and Donna Bower of Milford, Mich.; two sons, Jerry Kelley of Grantsville and Larry Kelley of Crossville, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Kelley; and one grandson, Larry K. Kelley II. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating, and burial in Bethlehem cemetery.

LITTLE, EMILY JANE

Correction to information received in last week's obituray for Emily Jane Little: Survivors include four brothers, Jim Rhodes, Sam Rhodes and David Rhodes, all of Cottageville, and Doc Rhodes of Parkersburg; and one great-grandchild.

LOWE, HATTIE M.

Hattie M. Lowe, 63, of Palestine, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 1995, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late George and Flossie Coon Husk. She was a waitress and a member of VFW Auxiliary Post 6608, Elizabeth, and Gospel Light Church, Palestine. She was a lifelong resident of Wirt County. Surviving are three sons, John Lowe of Palestine, David Lowe and James Leroy Lowe, both of Elizabeth; two daughters, Sherral Graham and Eva Murray, both of Elizabeth; two brothers, Joe Husk of Mineral City, Ohio, and Roy Steve Husk of New Philadelphia, Ohio; five sisters, Gloria Anderson, Linda Husk and Donna Perry, all of Akron, Ohio, Cindy Parsons of Arnoldsburg and Helen Stout of Mineral City; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lowe, in 1976; two daughters, Debra S. Lowe and Betty Lowe; one brother, Martin Husk; and two sisters, Gladys Hussel and Vada Marie Robertson. Services were held at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev. Paul Deem and Rev. Ray Whiteman officiating. Burial was in Mayberry cemetery, Palestine.

LUCAS, BONNIE L.

Bonnie L. Lucas, 71, of Belleville, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of Minnie May Hicks of Parkersburg and the late Harley Hicks. She was a homemaker. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Paul K. Lucas; one son, Paul K. Lucas, Jr., of Belleville; one daughter, Carol McMahan of Washington; two brothers, Creed Hicks of Cutler, Ohio, and Delbert Hicks of Parkersburg; four sisters, Rosie Wolfe, Wilma Sams, Joy Marquis and Ilene Echols, all of Parkersburg; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Donnie Arthur; and one granddaughter, Melissa Mae Lucas. Services were held at Chapel of Peace, Sunset Memory Gardens, with Rev. Gregory Godwin officiating. Entombment was in Sunset Memory Mausoleum.

MARKS, CHRISTOPHER

Christopher Dean Marks, infant son of Dexter and Debbie Marks of Grantsville, was stillborn Friday, Nov. 15, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. Surviving in addition to his parents are three brothers, Anthony Marks, Tommy Marks and Dexter Marks, all of the home; and one sister, Vicky Marks of the home. Graveside services were held at Fairview cemetery, Chapel Route, Gassaway, with Rev. Mike Worf officiating.

MARSHALL, JAMES D.

James Dye Marshall, 73, died Saturday, May 4, 1996. He was a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., for 25 years. He was the son of the late Robert M. and Mary "Myrtle" Simers Marshall of Grantsville. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as 1SGT E8 after 28 years of service. He began his career in the Fifth U.S. Army Air Corps, 1940 to 1945. He received numerous awards and decorations. He was active in the American Legion, and was a life member of Post #49. In 1979 he was appointed by Gov. Bruce King to the New Mexico State Guard as a commissioned officer with the rank of First Lieutenant. Among the things he was most rewarded by was the opportunity to help adults get a leg up in life through education as an instructor at Occupational Industrialization Center in Southeast Albuquerque. Surviving are his wife, Ingeborg; three daughters, Dagmar Mondragon of Albuquerque, Judith Jorgensen of Corona, Calif., and Drusilla Ann Marshall Van Doren of Fort Collins, Col.; six grandchildren, Alyxandra Claire Van Doren, Ryker James Van Doren, Douglas Steven Jorgensen, Jeremy Jorgensen, Christopher James Jorgensen and Michael Paul Jorgensen; and two brothers, George Marshall and Leonard Marshall of Grantsville. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Graveside services, with full military honors, were held at Santa Fe National cemetery, Santa Fe.

MATHESS, MAXINE L.

Maxine L. Mathess, 67, of Cox's Mill, died Wednesday, May 8, 1996, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Chalmer and Roxie Davis. She was a former employee of Economy Outlet, Harrisville, and Glenville State College. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Clarence D. Mathess; three sons, Clarence A. Mathess of Washington, Larry R. Mathess of Troy and Rodney J. Mathess of Cox's Mill; one sister, Inez Bower of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha Dawn Mathess; and one brother, Harley "Tubb" Davis. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. David Somerville officiating. Burial was in Wolverton cemetery, Munday.
