Eulah Kerby, 85, of Mt. Zion, died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Marshall and Margaret Blake Starcher. Surviving are her husband, Woodrow "Jake" Kerby; one daughter, Sharon "Rose" Pursley of Grantsville; and two sisters, Lova Slider of Millstone and Elah Whisman of Mt. Zion. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Rick Swearengin and Rev. D.L. Kerby officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
KIMBLE, LOTTIE "JON"
Lottie K. "Jon" Kimble, 83, of Sissonville, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Sissonville. She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late William A. and Samirah Smith Mahaney. She was a restaurant owner-operator and business woman in Grantsville for many years. Surviving are two daughters, Kim High of Garretts Bend, Ind., and Sandra Harris of Reno, Nev.; three sons, Joe Kimble of Scott Depot, James W. Kimble of Painesville, Ohio, and John Paul Kimble of Troy, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joy Kimble. Services were scheduled Wednesday, Mar. 3, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating, and burial in Bethlehem cemetery, near Grantsville.

Raymond Earl King, 51, of Gassaway, formerly of Calhoun County, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at his residence. He was the son of Earl King and the late Myrtle Eubanks King. Surviving are his uncle and aunt, Charles and Visa O'Neal, several cousins, and one niece. He was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia White. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Don Dawson officiating. Burial was in King cemetery, Chloe.

Joe Kirby, 79, of Grantsville, died Thursday, Mar. 4, at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late John and Mary Ann Bell Kirby. He was a retired truck driver for Newbrough Trucking, Harrisville, and a member of VFW, Grantsville. Surviving are one son, Junior Kirby of New Salisbury, Ind.; one daughter, Kathryn Phillips of Elizabeth; two sisters, Maude Sampson and Nellie Godfrey, both of Grantsville; one brother, Bernard Kirby of Grantsville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Delta Sampson and Delphia Taylor, and two brothers, William and Roscoe Kirby. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial was in Big Bend Ceme-tery.

Maxine Virginia Knight, 77, of Grantsville, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late General and Elsa Mae Richards. Surviving are five sons, Grover Lee Knight of Nobe, Hobert C. Knight, Jr., General F. Knight and Ricky Ray Knight, all of Big Springs, and Roy A. Knight of Five Forks; four daughters, Bytha Lenora Kendall of Grantsville, Emma Robinson of Nobe, Susie Knight of White Pine and Ellen Wager of Annamoriah; one brother, Tracey Richards of Marietta, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert C. Knight; two brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services were held at Hunt cemetery, Big Bend, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating.

Wilbert T. Knight, 84, of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Charleston General Hospital. He was born in Grantsville, the son of the late Gordon and Rosa Smith Knight. He was a member of Lauckport Baptist Church, Eagles 2307, VFW Post 1212, and DAV Chapter 6, and was a volunteer at Western Hills. He retired from O. Ames Co. Surviving are two sons, Guy Eugene Knight of Woodland, Va., and Gordon Michael Knight of Elizabeth; three daughters, Linda Fox of Marietta and Brenda Wilcoxen and Kathy Knight, both of Belpre; several grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Knight of Cleveland; and two sisters, Marjorie Riggs of Barberton, Ohio, and Doreen Smith of Grantsville. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Terry; two grandchildren; and 10 brothers and sisters. Services were held at Ogdin-Kimes Funeral Home, North Parkersburg, with Rev. Clara Lou Knotts, 49, of Ripley, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, in CAMC, General Division, after a short illness. She was the daughter of Daniel A. and Hazel Cunningham of Spencer and daughter-in-law of Charles and Geneva Fowler Knotts of Mt. Zion and Charleston. She was a homemaker, a member of Ripley Baptist Temple, and an employee of Jackson General Hospital. Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Knotts; one son, Douglas H. Knotts at home; one daughter, Melissa L. Knotts at home; one brother, Daniel Cunningham, Jr., of Charleston; and one sister, Mary Beth Payne of Charleston. Services were held at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with Rev. Lee Swor officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery, Grants-ville.

Hurl O. Lane, 86, of Arnoldsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at his residence. He was born in Braxton County, the son of the late James W. and Ida K. Metz Lane. He was a pipeline construction worker. Surviving are his wife, Velora Keaton Lane; six sons, Charles B. Lane of Three Rivers, Mich., Ken Lane of Lockney, Ronald Lane, Thomas Lane and Milton Lane, all of Arnoldsburg, and Norman Lane of Orma; two daughters, Deborah Cooper of Edmond and Rita Butler of Nebo; four brothers, Roud, Oatha, Carl and Earnest Lane; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene R. Lane and one infant son, and one brother, Ralph Lane. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Robert Shannon officiating. Doris Richards Lanzo, 60, of Parma, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 19, , 1999, at Pan-na Hospital, She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Shirdie and Eula Hosey Richards. Surviving are her husband, Tom Lanzo; two sons, Richard Lanzo of Valley City, Ohio, and Ron Lanzo of Cleveland, Ohio; one daughter, Kathy Bombalicki of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Joanne Dawson of Big Springs; three brothers, Roger Richards, Bobby Richards and Kenny Richards, all of South Carolina; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Green, and one brother, Donald Richards. Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., in Norman Ridge Church, with Rev. Randy Richards officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday, 6 to 9 p, m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.

Earl E. Layfield, 64, of Middlebourne, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, at his residence. He was born in Ritchie County, the son of Walter S. Layfield of Harrisville and the late Pauline McIntyre Layfield. He retired as a foreman at American Cyanamid Co., St. Marys, with 36 years of service. He was a member of Middlebourne Baptist Church and a trustee for 27 years. Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Thelma Cunningham Layfield; two daughters, Sandra Lynch of Parkers-burg and Teresa Martin of Aberdeen, Md.; one brother, Ronald Layfield of Grantsville; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Earl Layfield, Jr. Services were held at Middlebourne Baptist Church. Burial was in Middlebourne cemetery.

Leota Harris Fultz Leggett, 73, of Carter, Ky., died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at King's Daughters Hospital, Ashland, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Rev. C.D. and Glada Ritchie Harris. She was a member of Christian Church, Globe, Ky. Ellenora "Minnie" Little, 87, of Mt. Zion, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was born in Yawkey, Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Harley F. and Missouri I. Cox O'Dell. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are five sons, Guy Little of Mt. Zion, Gail and Ronald Little, both of Davisville, Denver Little of Mineral Wells and Donald Lee Little of Sand Ridge; two daughters, Betty Curry of Mt. Zion and Sharon Vannoy of Mineral Wells; 16 grand-children; and 19 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Little; two sons; five brothers; and one sister. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Paul Morrison and Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial was in St. Paul cemetery, Mt. Zion.

Bessie G. Lynch, 77, of Mt. Zion, died Monday, June 14, 1999, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Jay and Maude Ward Smith. She was a life member of Weirton Volun-teer Fire Dept. Auxiliary and was a former president of Easter Seal Society of Weirton. Surviving are her husband, James J. Lynch, Jr.; one daughter, Bonieta Himmelrick of Weirton; one brother, Victor Smith of Akron, Ohio; and two grandchildren, David Michael Himmelrick of Wheeling and Norman J. Himmelrick of Weirton. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Jay, Albert and Cleo Smith. Services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery, Mt. Zion. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
