WHITE, WILLIAM

William Marr White, 68, of Hartville, Ohio, died Friday, July 9, 1999, at his residence. He was born in Pomeroy, Ohio, the son of the late Fred and Sarah Bradshaw White. He was a Hartville resident since 1979 and a press operator at Chrysler Corp., Twinsburg, for 30 years. He was an Army veteran and a member of Alliance Baptist Temple. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Mae Lowe White; two sons, Rick White of Rootstown, Ohio, and Randy White of Mantua, Ohio; one step-son, Dave Pritchard of Marlboro, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy Henley of Garrettsville, Ohio, and Marjorie Bailey of Huntington; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Paul. Services were held at Arnold Funeral Home, Hartville, with Rev. Dale Callaway officiating. Burial was in Sycamore Baptist Church cemetery, Calhoun County.

WILLIAMS, DONALD

Donald Williams, 72, of Cleveland, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at Mt. Sinal Hospital, Cleveland. He was born at Big Bend, the son of the late Harry and Carrie Stevens Williams. He retired in 1989 as a mechanic from General Electric, Cleveland, with 241/2 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Betty Gibson Williams; three sons, Gary, Richard and Gregory, all of Cleveland; four sisters, Marguerite Basnett of Grantsville, Euthel Gibson of Barberton, Ohio, Delores Demiter of Peoria, Ill., and Grace Dufore of Akron, Ohio; one brother, William (Billie) Williams of Doylestown, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Christina, Joshua and Melissa, all of Cleveland. Private services were held for the family.

WILLIAMS, VIOLET

Violet S. Williams, 78, of Parkersburg, formerly of Nobe, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ritchie County, the daughter of the late Hillary E. and Ocie Ina Fredricks Simmons. She was a homemaker and member of Chapel Baptist Church, Nobe. Surviving are one daughter, Maxine Butcher of Parkersburg; two adopted daughters, Nioka Starkery and Anita Dunham, both of Parkersburg; three sons, Marvin Robinson of Adamsville, Ohio; William Robinson of Nobe and Daniel Williams of North Carolina; one sister, Vonda Goyena of Norfork, Va.; one brother, Dorsey Simmons of Parkersburg; 28 grandchildren; 18 great-grand-children; one step- grandchild; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William T. Robinson; her second husband, Elzie Williams; three brothers, Ivan, James and Orie Simmons; one sister, Dicie Hoover; one daughter, Manona Davis; two grandchildren, Shannon Lamont and Thomas Alan Butler; and one great-grandchild, Honey Lee Robin-son. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Nobe cemetery.

WILLIAMS, WILLIAM GLENN

William Glenn Williams, 67, of Sedro-Woolley, Wash., died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at his home. He was born in Lewis County, the son of Lucille Williams Malindzak of Weston. He was a retired aviation engineer with Northrip of California. Surviving are one daughter, Susan Castanza of Gassaway; two sons, Billy Joe and Jackie Lee Williams, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; one step-daughter, Sharon Yanero of Grantsville; two sisters, Betty Chiszar of Cleveland, Ohio, and Joan Hill of Clarksburg; two aunts, Margaret Adams Romel and Betty Bell, both of Weston; one uncle, Hoy Williams of Clarksburg; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services were held at Floyd Funeral Home with Rev. Clifford West officiating. Burial was in Horner cemetery.

WILSON, TAVA

Tava Wilson, 93, of Canton, Ohio, formerly of Beech, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Altman Hospital, Canton. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Levi and Nancy Wilson Harris. She was a member of Beech United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are four sons, Ronzel Wilson of Spencer, Deo Wilson of Stuart, Fla., Frank Wilson, Jr., of Pennsboro and James Wilson of Statesville, N.C.; five daughters, Clara Roberts of Hartville, Ohio, Fae Giesmar of Nebo, Janice Wilson of Canton, Ohio, Judy Uplinger of Benbrook, Tex., and Marlene Shelton of Seth; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wilson, Sr.; three sons; two daughters; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Beech U.M. Church, near Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating, and burial in Bailey cemetery, Beech.

WITTE, "LEON"

Robert "Leon" Witte, 68, of Parkersburg, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Douglas, the son of the late Robert Vere Witte and Wilma Arnold Witte Henthorne. He was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and attended Akron University. He had worked at General Tire and Rubber Co., Akron, and was retired from Contractors Service as vice president. He was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church where he was on the deacon board and served on the pulpit, trustee and building committees. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Nadine Smith Witte; three sons, Brian D. Witte of Akron, Terry L. Witte of St. Leonard, Md., and Jerry A. Witte of Lynchburg, Va.; three grandchildren; one brother, Adrian Witte of Spencer; and one sister, Madge Camp of Spencer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and James Witte. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Jim Mike Ward and Rev. Kent Boone officiating. Burial was in Lynch cemetery, Arnoldsburg.

WOODS, MAXINE

Maxine M. Woods, 74, of Twinsburg, Ohio, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at her residence. She was born in Freed, the daughter of the late Ray and Dora Mathess Goodnight. She attended Twinsburg Baptist Church and retired from Western Reserve Electronics. Surviving are five sons, Randall, Larry, Donald, Steven and Richard Woods; two daughters, Sandra Thomas and Cheryl Jilek; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Goodnight of MacFarlan; and several nieces, including Sue Jones of Grantsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oley E. Woods; two sisters, Edith Collins and Madaline Taylor; and three brothers, Harold Goodnight, Olin Goodnight and John Goodnight. Services were held at Johnson Romito Funeral Home. Burial was in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Twinsburg.

WRIGHT, DESSEL

Dessel Wright, 90, of Spencer, formerly of Arnoldsburg, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, in Roane General Hospital. She was born in Rocksdale, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Roach Tanner. She was a homemaker. Surviving are six daughters, Betty Harbaugh of Waynesboro, Pa., Ruth Holbert of Belpre, Ohio, Louise Saunders and Hazel Nichols, both of Spencer, Marie Dotson of Bartow, Fla., and Linda Staton of Millstone; three sons, Willard Wright of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Darrell Wright and Gerald Wright, both of Arnoldsburg; one sister, Susie Johnson of Akron, Ohio; one brother, Albert Gale Tanner of Arnoldsburg; 38 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Wright; two daughters, Mary Sue Goodrich and Dottie Lou Wright; two sons, Cecil Wright and Stanley Wright; and one sister, Eulah Carpenter. Services were held at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Richard Matheney officiating. Burial was in Husk cemetery, Richardson.

WYATT, ROBERT HOWARD

Robert Howard "Bob" Wyatt, 72, of Reedy, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at home. He was born in Reedy, the son of the late Barnett A. "Barney" and Laura Rader Wyatt. He was a self-employed painter and a construction worker. Surviving are two daughters, Laura O'Brien of Millwood and Doris Riggs of Grantsville; one son, David L. Wyatt of Rittman, Ohio; two brothers, Glenn Wyatt of Parkersburg and Earl Wyatt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren; and five great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Seaman and Lillian Owens, and three brothers, Wilber, Homer and Herman Wyatt. Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor John Ellison officiating. Burial will be in Old Good Hope cemetery, near Reedy. Visiting hours were scheduled Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m.

YEAGER, FRANKLIN D.

Franklin D. Yeager, 62, of Grantsville, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Yeager cemetery, Lower Run.

YEAGER, FRANKLIN D.

Franklin D. Yeager, 62, of Grantsville, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. He was born in Index, the son of the late Ottie and Kizzie Yeager. He was a former employee of Sav-A-Tool, Grantsville. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Sandra Kay Richards Yeager; one daughter, JoAnn Parsons of Brohard; two sons, Franklin Yeager, Jr., and Michael Yeager, both of Grantsville; four sisters, Mary Montgomery of Akron, Ohio, Dot Curry of Five Forks, and Catherine Stevens and Sandy Funk, both of Grantsville; and two brothers, Parker Yeager and Robert Yeager, both of Grantsville. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Yeager cemetery, Lower Run.

YEAGER, ORPHA JANE

Orpha Jane Yeager, 71, of Spencer, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in Roane General Hospital, following a long illness. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Henry and Ida M. McCumbers. She was a member of Slate United Methodist Church, Spencer, and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Leslie Yeager; two sons, Gary Hall of Parkersburg and Randy Yeager of Spencer; two daughters, Donna Whited of Spencer and Joyce Vaughan of Zanesville, Ohio; two sisters, June Hall of Belpre, Ohio, and Bertha May of Parkersburg; three brothers, Everett Drennen of Letter Gap, Lester McCumbers of Nicut and Harold McCumbers of Charleston; eight grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Tom McCumbers. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Randall Whited officiating. Burial was in Slate cemetery, Spencer.
