YEAGER, VIRGINIA

Virginia M. Yeager, 87, of Glenville, died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lockney, the daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Catherine Gettamy Tallhamer. She was a homemaker and a member of Glenville Community Church. Surviving are one daughter, Audrey Aileen Curry of Glenville; three sons, Glessoner W. Yeager, Edgar J. Yeager and Tessa M. Yeager of Grafton, Ohio; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Whitt O. Yeager, and several brothers and sisters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Randy Wilson officiating. Burial was in Turner Community cemetery.

YOAK, CAROLYN S.

Carolyn S. Yoak, 38, of Harrisville, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, in Parkersburg. She was the daughter of Dollie Yoak of Harrisville and the late Cletus Yoak. Surviving in addition to her mother are two brothers, Cletus of Concord, N.C., and Elvis of Harrisville; two sisters, Lisa of Glenville and Jessica of Harrisville; one half-sister, Donetta of Grantsville; and one half-brother, Jake of Grantsville. Services were held at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville.

YOAK, CLETUS

Cletus D. Yoak, 62, of Auburn, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at his home. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Alva and Beatrice Richards Yoak. He was a driller in the oil and gas industry and was a member of Norman Ridge Church, Big Bend. Surviving are his wife, Dolly Stevens Yoak; four daughters, Carolyn Yoak of Harrisville, Lisa Yoak and Jessica Yoak, both of Auburn, and Donetta Yoak of Grantsville; three sons, Glennis Yoak of Grantsville, Cletus Yoak of Concord, N.C., and Elvis Yoak of Harrisville; two brothers, Milford Yoak of Auburn and John Bill Yoak of Big Bend; and three grandchildren. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating, and burial in Norman Ridge Church cemetery.

YOAK, DESSEL

Dessel M. Yoak, 95, of Big Bend, died Monday, Mar. 29, 1999, at Roane General Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Alexander Tazwell and Annie Goodnight Eagle. She was a home-maker and attended Big Bend United Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Rexall Yoak of Big Bend; one daughter, Virginia Audesee of Brighton, Mich.; seven grandsons; 17 great- grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great- great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Yoak in 1981. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Mary Zimmer officiating. Burial was in Goodnight cemetery, Big Bend.

YOAK, JUDSON

Judson K. Yoak, 64, of Mineral Wells, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at his residence. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late John and Martha Starkey Yoak. He was retired from Hope Gas Co., Parkersburg, after 37 years of service. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1118, Masonic Lodge 3, and Scottish Rite Bodies, all of Parkersburg. Surviving are his wife, Sue Bush Yoak; one son, Randall Yoak of Grantsville; two daughters, Linda Fulmer of St. Marys and Teresa Hall of Barboursville; one grandson; and one grand-daughter. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Gerald Morgan officiating. Entombment was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

YOAK, LEOTA

Leota W. Yoak, 82, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Grantsville, died Thursday, Mar. 25, 1999, at Jess Parrish Hospital, Titusville. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Loyd and Letha Kimble Wright. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, and a homemaker. Surviving are one son, Tom Yoak of Titusville; one daughter, JoAnn McNear of Titusville; three grandchildren, Sherry Prusack of Big Bend and Marla and Mark McNear of Titusville; three brothers, Loyd "Sonny" Wright of Fleming, Ohio, David Wright of Eastlake, Ohio, and John Wright of Willoughby, Ohio; one sister, Norito Ballato of Follansbee; one step-brother, Jerry Clayton of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; and one step- sister, Donna Maxwell of Mentor, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon Yoak, and one daughter, Glenita Ann. Services were held at Pleasant Hill U.M. Church, with Rev. Paul Morrison officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

YOST, WOODFORD "BUD"

Woodford "Bub" Yost, 79, of Grantsville, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Peter and Margaret Anderson Yost. He was a former member of CCC. Surviving are three sons, Ronald Yost of Ashland, Ky., Bobby Yost of Rittman, Ohio, and Billy Yost of Rosedale; two daughters, Mary King of Tariff and Ellen Feikert of Smithville; one brother, Lester Yost of Kimbolten, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a close friend, Ruby Arbogast of Grantsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lona Davis Yost, and two sisters, Columbia Rice and Bonnie Hardway. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Darius Arnold officiating, and burial in Yost cemetery, Walker. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

BASNETT, DALE

Dale Basnett, 85, of Annamoriah, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994, at Calhoun General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Annamoriah, a son of the late George and Sally Wright Basnett. He was retired laborer and farmer. Surviving are his wife, Murell Craddock Basnett; two sisters, Nell Cooper of Annamoriah and Mary Wolverton of Big Bend; and one brother, Harry Basnett of Mt. Zion. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Everett Basnett, Denver Basnett, Hale Basnett and George Basnett. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Glandon McKee officiating. Burial was in Big Bend cemetery.

WEBB, HUME

Hume Webb, 74, of Salem, Ohio, died Friday, Aug. 23, 1996, at his residence. He was born in Otto, a son of the late French L. and Lora Nichols Webb. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was assistant police chief for Fairfield Township, a former Salem Township police chief for 24 years, head of security at Quaker City Drag Strip for the past 30 years, and former owner of four gasoline stations in Salem and one in Lisbon, Ohio. He was a former captain of Salem Police Auxiliary, past president of Ohio Peace Officers Association of Columbiana County, Columbiana County Police Chiefs Association, former member of Leetonia Ruritans, member of Mt. Nebo Grange, and member of Country Ramblers and West Virginia Boys, music groups that traveled the area and played in nursing homes and other music events. He was a member of Church of Christ of Hanoverton. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Leola Allen Webb; four sons, Delmer Webb, Fred Webb and William Webb, all of Salem, and Arless Webb of Columbiana; one daughter, Connie Petty of Minerva, Ohio; three sisters, Ruth Ferrell of Akron, Dessie Hildreth of Spencer and Verba Deweese of Grantsville; one brother, Rev. Lee Webb of Salem; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Vonnie Nutter; and three brothers, Rev. Hobart Webb, Harry Webb and Junior Webb. Services were held Sunday at Arbaugh Pearce Greenisen Funeral Home. Burial was in Clover cemetery, Spencer.

WEEKLEY, LOY

Loy Weekley, 60, of Canton, Ohio, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996, at a Canton hospital, after a short illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Fred Weekley and Lear Weekley of Akron, Ohio. He was retired from Massillon Steel Mills, with 40 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Cora Weekley of Canton; one daughter, Sarah Harder of Princeton, Texas; four sons, Bill Weekley of Akron, Scott Weekley of Massillon, Michael Schnegy of Canton, and Steven Schnegy of Florida; four grandsons; step-mother, Opal Weekley of Vienna; three sisters, Sharon Hill of Lineboro, Md., Geneva Lucas of Kingman, Ariz., and Barbara Smith of Washington, W.Va.; five brothers, Paul Weekley of Knoxville, Tenn., Lowell Weekley of Spencer, William Weekley of Wooster, Ohio, Carroll Weekley of Parkersburg, and Larry Cottrell of Orma. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Norman Loy; one brother, Robert Weekley; and one sister, Glenna Pilgrim. Services were held at Sanders Funeral Home, Canton, with Rev. Bill Craddock officiating. Burial was in Mapleton cemetery, Canton.

WHYTSELL, WINNIE B.

Winnie B. Sapp Whytsell, 82, of Grantsville, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. She was born in Rocksdale, a daughter of the late William R. and Jessie Price Sapp. She was a former employee of Kellwood Co., Spencer, and was a former foster grandmother at Arnoldsburg Elementary School for 10 years. She attended Stoney Point Methodist Church near Arnoldsburg. Surviving are one son, Paul E. Whytsell, Jr., of Grantsville; one daughter, Marie Honaker of Arnoldsburg; one sister, Retta Conley of Lexington, Ohio; five grandchildren; 12 great-grand-children; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Whytsell, Sr., in 1994; one son; and one grandson. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating, and burial in Husk cemetery near Arnoldsburg.

RICHARDS, DAISY

Daisy Richards, 87, of Madison, Ohio, formerly of Big Springs, died Tuesday, July 9, 1996, at her daughters residence in Madison. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Lloyd B.and Bertha Cantwell Taylor. She was a homemaker. Surviving are two daughters, Goldie Nelson of Cleveland and Marie Hissem of Madison; two sisters, Edna Richards of Barlow and Emma Wagoner of Big Springs; one brother, Virgil Taylor of Big Bend; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Richards., five sisters, Dolly Marie Taylor, Beulah Wease, Docie Richards, Betty Manzie and Rosemond Nelson; and four brothers, Harry Taylor, Charley Taylor, Robert Taylor and Herbert Taylor. Services were held Saturday at Spruce Hollow Community Church, Big Bend, with Rev. Charles Shaffer officiating. Burial was in Taylor cemetery, Big Bend.

AGEE, GREGORY, SR.

Gregory R. Agee, Sr., 37, of Greenfield, Ind., died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, in Hancock Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Bill R. Agee and Alice Mae Fetters Agee of Grantsville. He graduated from John Marshall High School. He owned and operated Agee & Associates Insurance Agency, Indianapolis, Ind., with 18 years affiliation, and attended St. James Lutheran Church, Greenfield. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Lori J. Weymouth Agee; one son, Gregory R. Agee, Jr., of Greenfield; one daughter, Leah K. Agee of Greenfield; one brother, Christopher W. Agee of Indianapolis; two sisters, Cathy M. Agee of Indianapolis and Vicki Lyons of St. Albans; grandparents, Ralph and Ruby Fetters of Ohio and Roxie and Lowell Crane of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield, with Pastor Jerry Mielke officiating. Burial was in Park cemetery, Greenfield.

ALLEN, DELMA D.

Delma D. Allen, 84, of Summersville, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at the home of her daughter, Evelyn, after a long illness. She was born in Bomont, Clay County, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Emma Samples. She was a member of Presbyterian Church, Summersville, and Order of Eastern Star, and a past noble grand of Rebecca Lodge of Clendenin, and former Sunday School teacher. Surviving are her husband, Marion "Sam" Allen; two daughters, Evelyn Kaye Hamric of Elkview and Anna Lou Rucker of Clendenin; three sons, Harold Allen of Gilbert, Ariz., Gordon Allen of Lancaster, Pa., and Roger Allen of Grantsville; two sisters, Reva Wilson of Strange Creek and Emogene Sweeney of Queen Shoals; one brother, Dr. F.P. "Sam" Samples of Pinch; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at White Funeral Home, Summersville, with Rev. James Crouch officiating. Burial was in Walker Memorial Park, Summersville.
