JARVIS, RONALD "CHARLIE"

Ronald Allen (Charlie) Jarvis, 40, of Forest Grove Ridge, Caldwell, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, near his home of injuries sustained in a hunting accident. He was born in Braxton County, the son of the late Walter and Anna Tanner Jarvis. He was employed as a truck driver for Rodney Rohrbaugh Trucking, Caldwell. Surviving are his wife, Evonnie McCumbers Jarvis; two daughters, Crystal and Tiffany Jarvis of the home; one sister, Virgie Crossley of Newhart, Del.; seven brothers, Henry of Nebo, Roscoe of Creston, Ohio, Russell, Roger and Marvin of Chloe, Larry of Nebo and Ricky Jarvis of Chloe; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Jennings Tanner. Service will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, with Pastor James Garrett officiating. Visiting hours were scheduled Wednesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

JOHNSON, DOROTHY

Dorothy Mae Johnson, 72, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Calhoun County, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Hospice Center, Akron, following a long illness. She is the daughter of the late Ivy and Ruth Freshour Ayers. She was a homemaker. Surviving are four sons, Ernest "Buck" Johnson of Lake Milton, Ohio, Charles Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Robert Johnson of Raleigh, N.C., and James Johnson of Akron; one daughter, Carolyn Walker of Akron; one brother, Austin Ayers of Woodsfield, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Johnson. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial was in Kight cemetery, White Pine Road, near Grantsville.

JOHNSON, ROBERT K.

Robert K. Johnson, 54, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, Mar. 4, 1998, at Americare-Salem, Salem. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of Iva Jarvis Johnson of Grantsville and the late Clyde Johnson. Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Marie Cooper of Bridgeport and Donna Baker of Gassaway; and one brother, Cecil Johnson of Vincent. Private services were planned at the convenience of the family.

JOHNSON, RUSSELL

Russell Johnson, 74, of Ellenboro, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Elza and Clara Wyer Johnson. He was a watch repairman by trade and was an avid football, baseball and basketball fan. Surviving are one daughter, Darlene Johnson of Parkersburg; one sister, Avis Pickering of San Jose, Calif.; one granddaughter, LaceyAnne Siers of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clark, Glenn and Cleo Johnson; one sister, Dorothy Johnson Ashcraft; and two half-sisters. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with burial in Sunset cemetery, Clarks-burg.

JONES, BRITTNEY SHIANE

Brittney Shiane Jones, 20 months, of Grantsville, died Sunday, November 1, 1998, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville. Born in Charleston, she was the daughter of James Michael and Cindy Miller Jones of Grantsville. Survivors include her parents; a brother, James Michael Jones, Jr. at home; maternal grandfather, Ron Miller of Big Bend; paternal grandfather, Bill Jones of Grantsville; paternal grandmother, Audrey Jones of Grafton, Ohio; and paternal great-grandmother, Euleta Jones of Grantsville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Judy Brooks and one sister, Kala Griffin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the Stump Fuenral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Jim McIntrye and Rev. Junior Moody will officate. Interment will be in the Big Bend cemetery at Big Bend.

JONES, VOHN

Vohn Jones, 84, of Big Springs, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, in CAMC, Memorial Division, Charleston. He was born in Ritchie County, the son of the late Bert and Stella Jones. He was an employee of Park Drop Forge Co., Cleveland, for 13 years and Vacellio and Groagan Corp., and was a member of Laborers Union 1085 for 43 years. He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Glenville. He committed to the Christian faith in 1979. Surviving are three daughters, Joan Collins and Sherry Wilson, both of Big Springs, and Janis Cagle of Lorain, Ohio; two sons, Henry "Bucky" Jones of Big Springs and Jerry Jones of Millstone; one brother, Kermit Jones of Pennsboro; 13 grand-children; and 11 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Collins Jones; three brothers, Cecil, Clifford and Archie Jones; and one sister, Mildred Billette. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Nobe cemetery.

JUSTICE, WANEDA A.

Waneda A. Justice, 77, of Chloe, died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at her home. She was born in Clay County, the daughter of Rex and Roxie Conley Adams. She was a member of Stinson Church of Christ. Surviving are one daughter, Pat Murphy of Chloe; one son, Jack Justice of Lewisville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Brooks Justice; one son, Stephen Justice; one brother, Donald Adams; and three sisters, Ilean Drake, Nell and Pauline Lambey. Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial will be in Lamb cemetery, Chloe. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday.

KEATON, RILEY EVERT

Riley Evert Keaton, 84, of Amma, Roane County, died Sunday, June 28, 1998, at home after a long illness. He was born at Nicut, the son of the late James Thomas and Florence Matila Parsons Keaton. He was a former employee of J.B. Jackson Pipeline Construction, Clendenin, and Foster & Creighton Bridge Contractors, Sissonville. He was a member of U.S.W.A., District 23, Charleston, Left Hand Lions Club, Left Hand, and Amma United Methodist Church, Amma. He attended Johnson Creek Baptist Church, Walton. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Ruey E. McCune Keaton; one daughter, Shelvia Jean O'Dell of Amma; three sons, Larry E. Keaton of Spencer, Garry D. Keaton of Amma and Jerry L. Keaton of Fostoria, Ohio; one sister, Mary Carter of Ekalaka, Mont.; one brother, John Keaton of Clendenin; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Icie Monroe, Ivy Drake, Dora Parker, Nellie Keaton and Darla Keaton; two brothers, William Harley Keaton and Elmer Keaton; and four grandchildren. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. J. Herbert Smith officiating, and burial in Clover cemetery, Clover.

KERBY, DONALD F.

Donald F. Kerby, 71, of Mt. Clare, Harrison County, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in United Hospital Center, Clarksburg. He was born in Braxton County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired boilermaker. Surviving are three brothers, Lawrence Kerby, Jr., of Westlake, Ohio, Chuck Kerby of Mt. Zion and Arden Kerby of Berlin Heights, Ohio; and one sister, Arleta Frame of Kilgore, Tex. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Mt. Olive United Methodist Church cemetery at the convenience of the family.

KERBY, WILLIAM H.

William Hagan Kerby, 78, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg. He was born in Henrietta, Calhoun County, a son of the late John L. and Biddie A. Wright Kerby. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Cabot Corp. He was a member and deacon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Grantsville. Surviving are his wife, Wilma Gene Sears Kerby; three daughters, Susan J. Kerby of Vienna, Sarah A. Albaugh and Sandra K. Pitts, both of Grantsville; one son, Samuel L. Kerby of Washington; two sisters, Flara Gherke and Bertha Webster, both of Grantsville; one brother, Robert L. Kerby of Salem; one grandson; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bertha Stump Kerby; two sisters, Almeda Stump and Goldie Ball; and two brothers, Allie Kerby and Simon Kerby. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Collins Community cemetery, Stumptown.

KIGHT, GENEVIEVE

Genevieve Kight, 77, of Youngstown, Ohio, died Saturday, June 6, 1998, in Youngstown. She was born in Grafton, a daughter of the late George and Alveria Wells Duley. She was a homemaker. Surviving are three daughters, Crystal Kight of Youngstown, Beverly Yoak of Green River, Wyoming, and Nila Swesey of Campbell, Ohio; two sons, Dennis Kight of Campbell, Ohio, and Tim Kight of Aurora, Colorado; one brother, Henneth Duley of Grantsville, Ill.; one step- brother, Arnold Yoak of Five Forks; four sisters, Elva Yoak of Grantsville, Eleanor Welch of Five Forks, Betty Smith of Parkersburg and Ruby Jean Godfrey of Mineral Wells; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doris Kight; three brothers, Herb Duley, Marvin Yoak and Jack Yoak; and two sisters, Mary Selmon and Maxine Stultz. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Lorous Roberts officiating. Burial was in Nobe cemetery.

KIMBLE, JOHN O.

John O. Kimble, 92, of Stumptown, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Americare-Glenville. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Al and Rosa Kelley Kimble. He was retired from Cabot Corp. He was a member of Eureka Lodge 40 AF&AM of Grantsville, Charleston Consistory of Scottish Rite Bodies and Order of Eastern Star 73 of Grantsville. He was an active Deputy Instructor for West Virginia Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Stumptown, for 58 years. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Hathaway of Weston; two sons, Berl Kimble of Glenville and John A. Kimble of Parkersburg; one foster daughter, Christina Wayne of Stumptown; three sisters, Charlotte Vanhorn of Corydon, Ind., and Lona Pope and Lora Vaughan, both of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Downey Kimble; one daughter, Betty Lee Kimble; three brothers, Otha Kimble, Joy Kimble and Delbert Kimble; and two sisters, Lenna Wright and Letha Wright. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Herbert Smith officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery, Grantsville, with Masonic graveside rites.

KING, LONNIE

Lonnie E. King, 37, of Big Bend, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Charleston Area Medical Center-Memorial Division following a long illness. He was born in Calhoun County, the son of Elmer and Eudora King of Big Bend. Surviving in addition to his parents `are one brother, Emory King of Big Bend, and two sisters, Mary King and Velma King, both of Big Bend. Private services will be held at the family's request, with burial in Taylor cemetery, Big Bend.

KIRBY, DELBERT

Delbert Kirby, 87, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, Mar. 7, 1998, at his residence. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Rufus and Mary Adams Kerby. He was a carpenter and formerly owned and operated Kirby's General Store, Red Hill, for 20 years. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Lodge #169 and was a Baptist. Surviving are three daughters, Rosalie Nelson and Linda Kirby, both of Parkersburg, and Karen Sue Henderson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one son, D. Mark Kirby of Parkersburg; one sister, Eula Nelson of Vienna; four brothers, Victor Kirby of Spencer, Cleo Kirby of Parkersburg, and Forest Kerby and Wilbert Kerby, both of Calhoun County; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Boyd Kerby, and one great- grandson, Auston Hart. Services were held at Union Valley Baptist Church, Old St. Marys Pike, with Rev. Donald Witman and Rev. Phillip Dent officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery North. Memorials may be made to Union Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, Rt. 1, Box 211, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
