Denver O. Chenoweth, 88, of Nicut, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, at Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ivydale. He was born in Nicut, a son of the late David O. and Mary Jane Knotts Chenoweth. He was a former employee of Litman Motor Lines Co. and was retired from Eazor Freight, Parkersburg. He was a well-known area horseman who had raised and handled draft horses the majority of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and fox hunter. He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, Nicut. Surviving are four sons, Richard Chenoweth of Ravenna, Ohio, Denver Chenoweth, Jr., of Orange Park, Fla., James Chenoweth of Superior, Ariz., and Roger Chenoweth of Nicut; six daughters, Helen Hathaway of Akron, Kathryn Arnold of Superior, Sharon Smith of Ravenna, Sue McKown of North Royalton, Ohio, Karen Bess of Parma, Ohio, and Judy Meadows of Tanner; two brothers, Thurl Chenoweth and Wesley Chenoweth, both of Park-ersburg; one sister, Etta Wheeler of Parkersburg; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Carl Chenoweth; two brothers, Carl Chenoweth and David Chenoweth; and two grandsons. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Chenoweth cemetery, Nicut.

Olive Laverne Cline, 92, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 1997, at The Willows. She was born in Annamoriah, a daughter of the late Charles and Maude Bell Blankenship. She retired in 1967 from the former Broida Stone & Thomas department store. She was a member and primary Sunday School teacher at Broadway Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Kathryn Hopkins of Parkers-burg, Diana L. Harper of Vienna and Barbara Cornell of Waverly; four sons, R. Charles Cline, B. Ivan Cline and Larry B. Cline, all of Parkersburg, and William R. Cline of Columbia, S.C.; 26 grandchil-dren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Dawson Cline; one daughter, Mildred Hickman; one son, Forrest Paul Cline; and seven brothers and sisters. Services were held at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. William P. Snider and Rev. Robert Alfred officiating. Burial was in Evergreen South cemetery.

Harry B. Collins, 84, of Lockney, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at Roane General Hospital. He was born in Gilmer County, a son of the late Warder and Janie Minney Collins. He was a retired equipment operator and was a Baptist. Surviving are one son, Richard D. Collins of Tanner; four daughters, Billie Moss of Belpre, Rosemary McKown of Ravens-wood, Judy Collins of Lockney and Regina Stealey of Little Hocking; one brother, Lyle Collins of Shrewsbury; one sister, Wilda Queen of Lockney; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tracy M. Collins; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Kathryn Collins; three sisters; and four brothers. Jesse Cooper, 76, of Cross Lanes, died Friday, April 18, 1997, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Zanus and Maude Burrows Cooper. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired as a construction supervisor with C&P Telephone with 34 years of service. He was an elder in South Charleston Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Beulah Blondena Cooper; one foster son, John Michael Smith of Charleston; two sisters, Mary Vought of Charleston and Dorcus Smith of Vienna. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late William Thomas and Eda Jane Schoolcraft Cottrell. He was a retired carpenter and worked for George Morris Contracting, Fairmont. He was a Baptist. Samuel Nelson Craddock, 76, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Glenville, a son of the late Atty. and Mrs. Bantz W. Craddock. He received a degree of juris doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi and Howard-Rogers Legal Society. After retiring as an agent from Dept. of Justice, FBI, he was employed by Dept. of Health and Human Resources, Louisiana. He was a member of University Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, and Wyandotte, Mich., Masonic Lodge and American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Faustine Stump Craddock, formerly of Arnoldsburg; two sons, Dr. Samuel N. Craddock, Jr., Nashville, Tenn., and Jefferson Stump Craddock, Saudi Arabia; two daughters, Sarah C. Morrison, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Faustine Jo Craddock-Green, Baton Rouge; and two grandsons and two granddaughters. Services were conducted at Rabenhorst Funeral Home with Rev. Berlin Crawford, 87, of Evans, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley. He was born in Arnoldsburg, a son of the late John and Maggie Wood Crawford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Signal Corps. He was a retired manager of NAPA, Ripley, and was a former manager of Kroger Co., Ripley, Clendenin, Spencer, Logan and Charleston. He was a member of American Legion Post 107, Ripley, and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 32. He was a Methodist. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Garnet Eileen Tanner Crawford of Evans; one son, James Dee "J.D." Crawford of Evans; two brothers, Earl Crawford of Grantsville and Don Crawford of Barberton, Ohio; three sisters, Edra Hoskins of Magadore, Ohio, Beatrice Shaffer of Millstone and Tressie Church of Arnoldsburg; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
