WILLIAMS, ILA LANGFORD

Ila Langford Williams, 88, of Spencer, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 1996, at Roane General Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Marcus Seymore and Lucy Dawson Langford. She owned Williams Shoe Store, Spencer, for over 50 years, and was a member of Wetzel Chapter of Eastern Star 27 and Spencer Advent Christian Church. Surviving are her husband, Herbert Williams; two daughters, Margie Williams Evans of Arnoldsburg and Mildred W. Pritchard of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, Thomas D. Williams of Spencer; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine sisters and brothers. Services will be held Thursday, 10 a.m., at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. John Ellison officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Memorial cemetery. Visitation was scheduled 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday.

WILLIAMS, JOHN H.

John H. Williams, 59, of Middlebourne, died Sunday, July 7, 1996, at this residence. He was born in Wirt County, a son of the late Perry D. and Lura H. Godd Williams. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired employee of Union Carbide, Sistersville. He was a former member of National Rifle Association and a member of Arnolds Creek Christian Church. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Donna Myers Williams; two sonsi Daniel F. Williams and Jerry T. Williams, both of Middlebourne; one sister, Ada Mae Morrison of Five Forks; and one granddaughter, Michelle Williams of Middlebourne. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Perry Williams, Harry William, Robert Williams and Harold Williams; and one sister, Juanita Roberts. Services were held at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, with Rev. William Williamson and LeMoyne Horner officiating.

WILLIAMS, RUBY L.

Ruby L. Williams, 80, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Emory and Cerepta White Spencer. She worked in the reeling department at FMC, and attended Edgelawn Methodist Church, Parkersburg. Surviving are two sons, Darrell E. Williams of Parkersburg and Larry M. Williams of Davis, Calif.; one daughter, Carol Skidmore of New Cumberland; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kempis Williams; six sisters; and two brothers. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Christopher Longgrear officiating. Burial was in Evergreen North cemetery, Parkersburg.

WILLISON, DESSIE R.

Dessie R. Willison, 81, of Parkview Health Care Center, Parkersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Alma Smith Mick. Surviving are three sons, Edward R. Willison, Robert J. Willison and Ronnie L. Willison, all of Parkersburg; three daughters, Ruby M. Dailey of Coolville and Mary Ann Rexroad and Susan K. Shockey, both of Belpre; two sisters, Pearl Blosser of Parkersburg and Mickie Pickerton of Texas; one brother, Otis Mick of Parkersburg; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Willison, in 1993. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Jesse Keenan officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

WILSON, ORA D.

Ora D. Wilson, 96, of Glenville, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 1996, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Index, Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Samuel and Martha Jenkins Deulley. She was a homemaker and attended Pisgah United Methodist Church, near Glenville. Surviving are two daughters, Bertha J. McCune of Minnora and Luella McCune of Barberton, Ohio; three sons, Earl Wilson and Ave Wilson, both of Glenville, and Bobby C. Wilson of Ohio; 26 grandchildren, and several stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Wilson; two sons, Albert Wilson and Dorsie Wilson; five brothers, and five sisters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Pastor James G. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Jobs Temple cemetery, near Glenville.

BAUGH, LORETTA A.

Loretta A. Baugh, 40, of Arnoldsburg, formerly of Wooster, Ohio, died Monday, July 11, 1994, at Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Wooster, a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Spore Miller. She was a licensed practical nurse and was formerly employed by Miletree Health Care Center, Spencer. Surviving are two brothers, Robin Miller of Wooster and Charles Miller of Orrville, Ohio; one sister, Christina Bean of Billings, Mont.; five step-daughters, Mildred Lee Baugh of Buckhannon, Mabel Cox of Evansville, Ind., Nancy Lowther of Walkersville, Wilma Baugh of Wheeling, and Barbara Ann Harris of Weston; three stepsons, Lowell Baugh, Jr., of Linn, William Baugh and Raymond J. Baugh, both of Weston; and five step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Baugh, in 1991. Services are scheduled Thursday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Randy Wilson officiating, and burial to be in Sand Fork cemetery, Gilmer County.

BEAVER, VERA

Vera Beaver, 85, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, June 18, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg. She was born in Millstone, a daughter of the late Homer and Maude McCulty Lynch. She was a retired state employee and a member Louisa Methodist Chapel, Arnoldsburg. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Murphy of Williamstown and Frances Downs of Pineville; three grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Lynch of Arnoldsburg and Darwin "Bus" Lynch of Parkersburg; and three sisters, Nina Mendenhall, Leah Sturm and Helen Blanchfield, all of Barberton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lynch. Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens, Garden of Love.

BELL, ROBERT LEE

Robert Lee Bell, 47, of Smithville, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Leona Bell Jones. He was employed by McCoy's Inc. of Smithville. Surviving are seven sisters, Betty Parsons of Nobe, Bertha Jones and Nellie Moss, both of Brohard, Virginia Parsons of Grantsville, Irene Fox of Tanner, Barbara Gray of Summersville and Terry Clark of Chloe; and five brothers, David Jones, Fred Jones and Floyd A. Jones, Jr., all of Brohard, Willie Jones of Grantsville and Jerry Jones of Chloe. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Jones. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Clifford Sams and Rev. Richard McKenzie officiating. Burial was in Bryner Chapel cemetery, Annamoriah.

BENNETT, NOAH A.

Noah A. Bennett, 94, of Crofton, Md., formerly of Calhoun County, died Friday, Jan. 14, 1994, at Crofton Convalescent Center, after an extended illness. He was born in West Virginia, and moved to Baltimore, Md., in 1942. He moved to Glen Burnie, Md., in 1989, and later to Crofton in 1992. He retired in 1964 from Bethlehem Steel after 22 years of service, and was interested in radio, television, and automobile repair. He was a member of Colonial Baptist Church of Baltimore County, Md., and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Surviving are one daughter, Doris Franklin of Severna Park, Md.; one sister Golda Daniels of Johnson City, Tenn.; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Alfred E. Bennett and Robert F. Bennett; five sisters, Lettie Mitchell, Bina Hosey, Anna Critchfield, Lula Graziano, and Mae Rutledge; and eight brothers, Good Bennett, Owen Bennett, Jason Bennett, Lee Ray Bennett, Alva Bennett, Francis Bennett, Victor Glenn Bennett, and William Ray Bennett. The body was donated to the Maryland State Anatomy Board.

BISHOP, EDGAR W.

Edgar W. Bishop, 85, of Arnoldsburg, died Friday, Mar. 25, 1994, at Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Beech, a son of the late John and Clara Wears Bishop. He was retired from Monarch Rubber Co., Spencer. Surviving are his wife, Millie Falls Bishop; two sons, Jack Bishop and Freddie Bishop, both of Arnoldsburg; one daughter, Florence Bishop of Arnoldsburg; one brother, Joe Bishop of Leivasy; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, two brothers, and two sisters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial was in Bailey cemetery, Minnora.

BOATRIGHT, ALMA

Alma Poling Boatright, 93, of Spencer, died Monday, Nov. 7, 1994, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late William and Belle Simmons Poling. She was a homemaker, a restaurant worker, and was formerly employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber. She was a Christian. Surviving are three daughters, Lena Lewis of Lowell, Oleva Nester of Charlotte, N. C., and Irene Bates of Byesville, Ohio; two sons, Delbert Boatright of Ripley and Junior Boatright of Sand Ridge; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren. Services were held at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial was in Sand Ridge cemetery.

BOATRIGHT, VAUGHN

Vaughn Boatright, 88, of Pennsboro, Sugar Run Community, died Wednesday, Mar. 23, 1994, near his residence of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late James S. and Almeda Lynch Boatright. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Europe. He was a driller in the oil fields, worked for Weirton Steel for many years, and owned and operated Town Tavern, Pennsboro. Surviving are one son, Glen Boatright of Pennsboro; one daughter, Vonetta Lanham of Pennsboro; two sisters, Ethel Harris and Bethel O'Brien, both of Barberton, Ohio; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by seven brothers; one sister, and three grandchildren. Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with evangelist Terry Jones officiating. Burial was in Gnats Run cemetery, near Pennsboro.

BOGGS, ERMA PEARL

Erma Pearl Boggs, 85, of Millstone, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 1994, in Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Elana, Roane County, a daughter of the late James Henry and Nina Anna McClain Hunt. She was the retired owner and operator of Village Tavern, Millstone. Surviving is one sister, Evelyn J. Garrett of Newton. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorma Arlene Boggs, in 1986. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Clarence McKown officiating. Burial was in Zion Hill cemetery, Elana.

BOOTHE, OPAL

Opal Boothe, 83, of Tariff, died Friday, Sept. 30, 1994, in Roane General Hospital. She was born at Tariff, daughter of the late Henry J. and M. Louisa Drake Boothe. She was a switchboard operator for the former Citizens Telephone Co. and an accomplished seamstress. She was a Protestant. Survivors include a foster daughter, Wilma Stewart Smith of Louisa, Va.; a brother, Woodrow Boothe of Tariff; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother; four half brothers; and four half sisters. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Robert Keen officiating. Burial was in Tariff cemetery, Tariff.
