Oral Barr, 79, of Marietta Convalescent Center, died Thursday, June 22, 1995, at the center after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Robert Shock and Martha Mae Starkey Barr. He retired from B&O Railroad as a boilermaker. Surviving are one daughter, Linda Sue Edman of Parkersburg, and one sister, Opal Gragg of Parkersburg. Services were held at Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Chuck Ferrell, Jr., and Rev. Marvin Sallee officiating. Burial was in Evergreen South cemetery.

Harry F. Basnett, 73, of Mt. Zion, died Thursday, Mar. 30, 1995, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late George and Sally Wright Basnett. He was a retired oil field worker and a farmer. Surviving are two sisters, Nelle Cooper of Annamoriah and Mary Wolverton of Big Bend; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend and companion, Don Blankenship. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Everett Basnett, Denver Basnett, Hale Basnett, George Basnett, and Dale Basnett. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Blackshire cemetery, Big Bend.

Sylvia McCune Beagle, 74, died Friday, Nov. 10, 1995, in Elyria, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Calhoun County and had resided in Elyria for nine years. She was a housewife, and a dear friend and mother to all children around her. She was a member of Elyria United Methodist Church. Surviving are her children, Roy Roger Beagle and Charley Beagle, both of Elyria, Deloris Scott of Columbus, and Dale Evonne Smith of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; a brother, Roscoe McCune of Grafton; and two sisters, Ruby Ferris of Nitro and Bernice Baker of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Beagle; a son, Ronald Eric Beagle; and seven brothers and sisters. Services were held at Bogner Busch Family Chapel, Ridgeville, Ohio, with Rev. Stacey Terrell officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon, Ohio.

Wilmer C. Beall, 85, of Little Hocking, died Saturday, July 29, 1995, in the emergency room at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Annamoriah, a son of the late William Russell and Daisy Maude Stutler Beall. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Parkersburg Restaurant Supply, having worked in maintenance. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Beall; two daughters, Delores Schofield and Patricia Johnson, both of Belpre; four sons, Roy Beall of Vacaville, Calif., Roscoe Beall of Newburg, Ind., Philip Beall of Melbourne, Fla., and Robert Beall of Coolville, Ohio; three sisters, Doris Newton of Leetonia, Ohio, Viola Adams of Hannoverton, Ohio, and Dorothy White of Dunbar; one brother, David Beall of Hannoverton; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one infant son; five sisters, Anna Dawkins, Laverne Ramsey Rovold, Naomi Grady, Beatrice Beall and Ocheal Beall; and two brothers, Harold Beall and Roscoe Beall. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Elder John Woomer officiating. Burial was in Rockland cemetery, Belpre, Ohio.

Goldie G. Beha, 89, of Parkersburg, died Sunday, July 16, 1995, at Americare-Arlington Nursing Home, Parkersburg. She was born in Ritchie County, a daughter of the late James and Margaret E. Hayes Goodnight. She had been a teacher in Calhoun, Ritchie, and Wood counties for 41 years, and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Walker. Surviving are one son, Thomas R. Beha of Ripley; one brother, Russell C. Goodnight of Mansfield, Ohio; one sister, Frankie Goodnight of Cairo; two grandchildren, Steven R. Beha and Tina L. Beha, both of Morgantown; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Beha; one brother; and two sisters. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Earl Perkins officiating, and burial in Walker cemetery.

Scottie Kelley Bennett, 83, of Weston, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Leatha Sturms Elliott. She was retired from Ohio Public Employees System as a psychiatric aide in Apple Creek, Ohio, and was a member of Ohio State Retirees Association. Surviving are two daughters, Carole Hosey of Grantsville and Lila L. Wade of Weston; five half-sisters, Ella Bell Haverty and Peggy Cain, both of Grantsville, Gray Arthur of Charleston, Betty Boyce and Dottie Shamblin, both of Sissonville; two half-brothers, Victor Elliott of St. Albans and Morford Elliott of Charleston five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Kelley; one brother; and one sister. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.

She was born in Stumptown, a daughter of the late Johnathan and Damey Catheryn Phillips Minney. She was a homemaker and a member of Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary, all of Grantsville. Surviving are one son, Harold Bennett of Pennsboro; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.G. Bennett, in 1992; one son, R.E. Lina Lillian "Lil" Kersey Blosser, 61, of Rt. 1, Vincent, Ohio, died Monday, May 15, 1995, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Clifton and Lovie Powell Kersey. She grew up in Calhoun County, and was a Calhoun County High School graduate. She was a homemaker and attended Porterfield Baptist Church, Porterfield. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Okey H. Blosser; three sons, Denzil Wright of Hurricane, Donald Lott of Watertown and Okey P. Blosser of the home; one daughter, Patricia Toncray of Parkersburg; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Berniece Parsons of Nitro; one brother, Steven Kersey of Mason County; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Denzil Ray Kersey. Services were held at Spencer Funeral Home, Belpre, with Rev. Paul Knierim officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memory Gardens, Rt. 339, Belpre.

Deward Booher, 73, of Orma, died Monday, April 10, 1995, at Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Ralph and Oda Luzader Booher. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was retired from Spencer State Hospital. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Orma. Surviving are his wife, Freda White Booher; two daughters, Loretta Sampson of Marion, Ind., and Carol Swearinger of Chloe; one son, David Booher of Ripley; four sisters, Helena Fulks of Arnoldsburg, Virginia Cunningham of Norton, Ohio, Janet Craddock of Vienna and Susie Rauch of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; one brother, Theodore Booher of Emlenton, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother, Grover Booher. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m, at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial will be in Orma cemetery.

Gerald L. "Gary" Bourne, 62, of Glenville, died Friday, Feb. 24, 1995, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, after a three-week illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio, a son of Pauline Bourne Kelley of White Oaks, N.C., and the late Donley Bourne. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a conservation officer with the rank of sergeant who served Gilmer, Roane, and Calhoun counties for 32 years. He was a member of Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge, both of Clarksburg, and National Rifle Association. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Iris Mace Bourne; a daughter, Pam O'Brien of Spencer; and a brother, Carrol L. Bourne of Chandler, Ariz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold K. Bourne. Services were held at Ellyson Mortuary, Glenville, with Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating. Burial was in Meadow Lane cemetery, Glenville.

She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late William H. and Azzie Norman Parsons. She was a homemaker and had resided in Campbell's Creek for the past 33 years. She was a member of Carver Senior Citizens, Carver Quilting Club, and Farrar Memorial Baptist Church, Rand. Surviving are three daughters, Catherine L. Hall of Diamond, B. Grace Woods and Hettie O. Abston, both of Belle; two sons, Orval D. "Country" Bower of Campbell's Creek and Roy D. Bower of Garland, Tex.; one sister, Goldie Canup of Florida; two brothers, Raymond Parsons and Dempsy Parsons, both of Akron, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Patricia Vaughan Boyd, 54, of Bellmore, N.Y., formerly of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Grantsville, a daughter of Lloyd and Elva Vaughan of Grantsville, where she resided until attending Alderson-Broaddus College in Philippi. She served as a nurse in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1967. She was stationed on Okinawa and was later chosen to serve as a nurse on the V.I.P. Unit at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, D.C. Recently, she worked as a supervisor for home care nurses in New York. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Harold Boyd; two daughters, Guinevere Thompson of Columbia, Md., and Daphne Boyd of New Britain, Conn.; two sons, Harold D. Boyd, Jr., of Portland, Ore., and James Thomas Boyd of Bellmore, N.Y.; one brother, Michael Vaughan of Williamstown; three sisters, Caroline Charonko of Charleston, Susan Vaughan of Dunbar, and Jeannie Tanner of Vienna; and four grandchildren. Burl L. Bullard, 77, of Minnora, died Tuesday, April 11, 1995, near Arnoldsburg. He was born in Left Hand, Roane County, a son of the late Early Waitman and Alice Victoria Bailey Bullard. He was a retired employee of Union Carbide Corp., South Charleston, and was a member of the former White Oak Baptist Church, Chloe. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Hazel A.
