Tammie Lou Boggs
Tammie Lou Boggs, 44, of Exchange, WV died August 14, 2008 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Parkersburg, WV. She was born August 5, 1964, in Sutton, WV a daughter of the late Charles Clarence Stump, Sr. & Alma Cleora Younkin Stump. Also preceding her in death was one sister Esther Marie Helmick.
She was a Christian by faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Boggs; 2 sons M. Jacob Boggs and wife Rebecca of Exchange and Joshua Boggs and wife Clarissa of Gassaway; one daughter Miranda Boggs of Parkersburg; 2 brothers Charles Stump Jr. and Grant Stump; 5 sisters Susie Yeager, Helen Ann Shaver, Linda Nettles, Kim Cox and Roxanne Carson; and 6 grandchildren Tyler Boggs, Sawyer Boggs, Katelynn Boggs, Darran Boggs, Victoria Cottrill and Katlyn Kincaid.
A private service will be held at a later date.
The family suggests that friends do a good deed for someone else in Tammie’s memory.

Pertie Naomi Perkins
Pertie Naomi Perkins, 86, of Winfield, formerly of Birch River, WV, died July 28, 2008. She was born February 14, 1922 in Braxton County, WV a daughter of the late John W. & Melissa Berry Tenney Whytsell. Also preceding her in death were her husband H. Donald Perkins; 13 brothers and sisters.
She was a member of the Birch River Baptist Church, Birch River, WV, attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Hurricane, WV, and worked as a kitchen aide at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV.
She is survived by one son H. Donald Perkins, Jr. of New Hope, PA; and 4 daughters Barbara Perkins of Winfield, WV, Linda Dodrill of Birch River, WV, Beverly Ramsburg of Jane Lew, WV and Mary Jane Lee of Statesville, NC. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Birch River Baptist Church, Birch River, WV. Burial will be in the Cox Cemetery, Birch River. WV. Friends may call Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennewa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
Funeral arrangements are by Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV.

Robert Lee Barker
Robert Lee Barker, 61, of San Antonio, New Mexico passed away November 24, 2008. He was born January 27, 1947, a son of the late Harvey and Goldie Lynch Barker.
He was preceded in death by brothers Garland and Granville Barker, sisters Ida Belle Rowan of Cleveland, OH and Caroline Dillon of Cleveland, OH.
He is survived by children, Paul Harvey of Grants, NM, Carree Gonzales, Barbie and Deana of Grants, NM.
He is survived by sisters Ellene Tharp of Maryland, Marla Rowan of Sutton and Sherry Carter of Grafton, OH, brothers Don Barker of Cleveland, OH, Bobby Barker of Maple Heights, OH, and Arlen of North Ridgeville, OH.
Arrangements were by Steadmans Funeral Home. Burial was at Santa Fe, NM on November 27, 2008.

Naomi Doris Thayer
Naomi Doris (Knight) Thayer, 75, of Orlando, WV, Our Mommy, went home to be with our Daddy on Friday January 9, 2009 after a long illness.
Doris was born on February 1, 1933 at Gem, WV a daughter of the late Okey and Leatha Given Knight. She was a Cook, Care Giver, Mother, Grandmother and Homemaker. She was a Jehovah’s Witness, a member of the Weston Congregation.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Thayer, her Parents, 6 Sisters, 2 Brothers and 2 Grand Daughters.
Doris is survived by 6 children, Lela Ratliff and husband Cody of Orlando; Regina Hashman and husband Wayne of Fairmont, WV; Rosa Thayer of Orlando, WV; Jack and Connie Thayer of Orlando; Steve and Robin Thayer of PA; and Randy and Susie Thayer of Clover Fork; 7 Grandsons, 5 Granddaughters, 5 Great Grandsons, 2 Great Granddaughters and one on the way; Special Nephew, Buckey Ayers and wife Cindy of Oklahoma; Special Nieces, Susie Lohr and husband Guy of Jane Lew; Kay Dropleman and husband Mike of Weston; Helen “Toots” Knight of PA; Reva McHenry; Brother in law Denzil Thayer of Ohio; along with several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Sunday January 11, 2009 at Stockert Gibson Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial was in the Helmick Cemetery near Exchange, WV. Friends called from noon to service time on Sunday at the funeral home.

Gloria Jean Jenkins
Gloria Jean (Dean) Jenkins, of Gassaway, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 2nd, 2009. She was age 60.
Gloria was born in Gassaway on March 27th, 1948 to the late Harry V. and Ida Belle Dean. She was the oldest of 6 children.
Gloria was a homemaker and a Baptist in faith.
Gloria left West Virginia in the 1960’s to travel and work with the American Job Corps. She loved travel, and to see and experience new things. During her younger and adventurous years, she lived in California and for a while in New York. Regardless of where all she had been though, the mountains of her home called to her, until finally she returned to WV to make her home here.
Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry V. and Ida Belle (James) Dean.
She is survived by her husband James Jenkins, and two sons, James D. Dean of Flatwoods, and Vinton L. Dean and wife Darlene of Elkins, WV. Two grandchildren: William Jack Dean, and Maggie A. Dean of Elkins, WV. She is also survived by four brothers: Harry Dean, Jr. and wife Ruth of Flatwoods, Terry Dean and wife Linda of Burnsville, William Dean and wife Vicky of Glenville, and James L. Dean of Arizona, and one sister, Pearl “Tammy” Friend and husband Fred of Sutton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends who will deeply miss her.
Gloria’s earthly body was cremated and laid to rest alongside of her parents at the Tisnel Cemetery near Salt Lick on Sunday, January 11, 2009, during a private family memorial service. The Reverend Jason Allen consoled the family with a lovely service and prayer at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, her sons’ request donations be made to your favorite charitable foundation in Gloria’s memory.
Cremation arrangements were handled by Mr. J. Steven Jeffers of the Greene-Robertson Funeral Home in Sutton, WV.

Marie Belle Allen
Marie Belle Allen, 91, of Sutton, WV passed away Tuesday January 13, 2009 at her home after a short illness.
She was born on September 16, 1917, at Napier, WV a daughter of the late Henry and Bessie Buckhannon Conrad. Marie was a homemaker and a protestant.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Wade Allen in 1973. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Allen of Heaters, WV, Granddaughter Debbie and her husband Billy Squires of Gassaway, WV, one sister Marjorie Allen of Heaters, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens in Heaters, WV with the Rev. Delmas Singleton officiating. Friends called from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Thursday at Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home in Flatwoods, WV.

Madge Lupardus
Madge Lupardus, 84, of Spencer, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in the CAMC – General Hospital, Charleston.
She was born August 23, 1924, in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Alice Jarvis Sears. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky Moore of Spencer and Donald Cottrill of Ohio; one daughter, Carol Marshall; several grandchildren.
Friends called Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. There was no service. Burial will be at a later date in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Edith Rexroad
Edith Rexroad, 82 of Spencer, passed away Monday, January 12 after a brief illness.
She was born in Progress, Braxton County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Jesse and Lona Frame Rexroad. She retired from C&P Telephone Company in Charleston. During World War II, she worked in Detroit, Michigan, building airplanes for the war effort. She was a West Virginia Cultural Center state champion quilter and has sold quilts across the United States and Canada.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Busch Denbigh and son-in-law, John M. Denbigh of Spencer; grandson, Peter B. S. Denbigh and granddaughter-in-law Alison Varner Denbigh of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and two brothers, Harold Rexroad and Kenneth Rexroad both of Gassaway, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bayward Rexroad and a sister, Opal Rollyson.
A memorial visitation was held on Thursday, January 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the MacIntosh Mansion in Spencer. Her body was cremated. John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.

Madeline (Carson) Edwards
Madeline Carson Edwards, 90, of Baxter, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning (Jan. 9, 2009) at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Gilmer County, daughter of the late John Calhoun and Diora Arthelia Putnam Carson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Edwards, who died in 1989.Preceding her in death were her siblings, Ernest, Opha, Raymond, Alva, Alton, Stella, & Pauline. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Highlawns United Methodist Church in Rivesville. She previously was a member of Baxter United Methodist Church, being in the Women’s Society of the Church. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Edith L. Edwards of Baxter; two grandchildren and their spouses, Donnie and Hope Edwards of Rivesville and Rene and Raymond McCartney of Fairmont; eight great-grandchildren, Joshua and Madison Edwards of Rivesville, Charmaine,
Anthony, Chandler, Amber Dawn Edwards of South Dakota, Kenneth Lee Edwards of Bridgeport and Nate McCartney of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Edwards; one grandchild, Kenneth Edwards; and one great-granddaughter, Angela Edwards. Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper St., Rivesville, was in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services were held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12th, with the Rev. Stanley Merrifield and the Rev. Paul Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Fairmont. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Highlawns United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 66, Rivesville, WV 26588.

Rose Marie Robinson
Rose Marie Robinson, 72, of Sutton passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 in CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston, WV. She was born September 3, 1936 in Clarksburg, WV the daughter of the late Frank S. Marra and Rose Andy Marra of Clarksburg.
Rose was an active member of the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Gassaway, WV where she participated in choir, served on the Worship and Nominating Committee and volunteered at the United Christian Food Panry.
Mrs. Robinson was a graduate of WV University with post graduate work at Florida State and Florida Atlantic University. She was a high school teacher for 30 years having taught in Maryland, Florida, Kentucky and 5 counties in West Virginia. Her last 7 years of teaching were in Braxton County where she taught English and was Choral Director. Rose was a member of Sutton Womens Club, Judy’s Garden Club, MENC, PALS, WVTEA, and WVMEA. She enjoyed reading, crafting (especially her “Victorian Button Pins”), gardening, flower arranging and singing.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William Eugene Robinson; three sons, Gregg Bodkin of Sutton, Shawn Bodkin and wife Alison of Memphis, TN and Doug Robinson and wife Christine of Charlotte, NC; daughters Marra Bodkin of Sutton and Michelle Dry and husband Fred of Friendswood, TX; l daughter-in-law, Tricia Nottingham of Roanoke, WV; son-in-law, David Heater of Sutton; grandchildren, Leah, Jacob, and Rose Anne Heater, Briana, Cole, and Trey Bodkin, Britney and Josh Robinson, and Danica Bennet; and four great grandchildren. Rose has one sister, Joan Marra Bunk and husband Ken, of Millersville, MD; and nieces, Marseille Marra Bunk, of Annapolis, MD and Erica Bunk Ray of Norfolk, VA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church with Pastor Barbara According officiating. Final resting place will be at the Robinson Family Cemetery in Holcomb, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rose Marie Robinson Vocal Music Scholarship Fund at City National Bank, P O Box 367, Sutton, WV 26601.
Arrangements are by Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV.
