Andy H. Greathouse, 57, of Chloe, died Thursday, April 13, 1995, at the junction of Rt. 4 and Rt. 16 in Ivydale, of injuries sustained in a single car accident. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late John and Myrtle Truman Greathouse. He was a former log truck driver in Ripley and was a former employee of Con Valve Co., Akron. Surviving are his wife, Anna Francis Greathouse; two daughters, Kathy E. Cross of Dalton, Ohio, and Debra K. Melrath of Chloe; three sons, Coma Dean Greathouse, Kenneth Ray Greathouse and William Mark Greathouse, all of Chloe, one sister, Annie Cross of Alliance, Ohio; three brothers, Lloyd Greathouse of Chloe, George Truman of Orangeville, Ohio, and Okey Truman of Hermitage, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Anthony J. Greathouse. Graveside services were held at Coen cemetery.

Earl B. Greathouse, 79, died Tuesday, July 4, 1995, at Manor Care, Akron, Ohio, where he had resided for 14 months. He was born in Spencer and had lived most of his life in Akron. He retired from Ace Rubber Products in 1978. Surviving are five sons, Neal of Lakeland, Fla., and James, Wayne, George and Richard, all of Akron; two daughters, Marie Anderson of West Union and Diann Rado of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doil Greathouse and Verna Rowan, both of Akron; two brothers, William of Spencer and Harold of Akron; and a cousin, Chloe Alfred of Orma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila H. Greathouse, in 1994; and one brother, James. Services were held at Billow Falls Chapel, Akron, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial was in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.

Frank B. Greathouse, 83, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 1995, at Shephard's Convalescent Center, Ellenboro. He was born in Weston, a son of the late Blaine and Martha Hitt Greathouse. He was a retired employee of West Virginia Glass Speciality Co. and a member of First Baptist Church of Grantsville. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Alligene Greathouse; two sisters, Estella Goodwin of Queens, N.Y., and Mildred Shaver of Tucson, Ariz. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery.

Dessie M. Wilford, 78, of Millstone, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 1994, at Roane General Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Clay County, a daughter of the late George W. and Ella Tanner Morris. She was the former owner and operator of Millstone Inn with 22 years of service. Surviving are three sons, Thomas Wilford and Junior Morris, both of Millstone, and Phillip Gerald Morris of Lansdowne, Md.; one daughter, Janet Wilford of Millstone; one sister, Tessie Matheny of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Morris and Porter Morris; and one sister Texie Lemar. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating. Burial was in Cowen cemetery, Nebo.

Gary L. Lee, 50, of Parkersburg, died Monday, May 30, 1994, at his residence. He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Howard and Virginia Lee. Surviving are two sons, Mark A. Hawk of Texas and Greg P. Lee of Colorado; one daughter, Janet Wagner of Grantsville; one sister Sadie DeSenze of Parkersburg; one brother, James R. Lee of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren; two nieces, one nephew; one great-niece; and two great-nephews. The body was donated to Human Gift Registry, West Virginia University. Memorial services were held at Christ United Methodist Church, Parkersburg.

Virginia Dare Webb Lesher, 72, of Parkersburg, died Friday, July 29, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after a brief illness She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Lynch and Martha Conley Webb. She was a homemaker. Surviving are four daughters, Many Ann Brannon of Parkersburg, Karen Anita Jarvis of South Carolina, Donita Kay Miller of Spencer and Linda Sue Lesher of Arnoldsburg; six sons, Larry Gene Lesher, Gerald Dean Lesher, David Wayne Lesher, all of Spencer, Kenneth Ray Lesher, William Allen Lesher, Leonard Neil Lesher, all of Barberton, Ohio; one sister, Dixie Phillips of Waverly; two brothers, Hartsel Jack Webb, address unknown; 25 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Lesher, in 1972; three sons; and one daughter. Services were held at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Howard Nichols officiating. Burial was in Dry Hill cemetery, Egypt Ridge, near Spencer.

Wayne Lester, 50, of Arnoldsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1994, at Roane General Hospital, after a sudden illness. He was born in Miami, Fla., a son of Sarah Gretchen Whitworth Lester of Arnoldsburg, and the late John Wellington Lester. He was a disabled U. S. Army veteran, and a member of Minnora United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Linda Lee Crawford of Memphis, Tenn., and Johanna Lester of St. Paul, Minn. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. James Riggs officiating, and burial to be in Wilson-Lester cemetery, near Arnoldsburg.
LEVERING, DALE FRANKLIN, SR.
Dale Franklin Levering, Sr., 75, of Russett Community, Grantsville, died Monday, May 16, 1994, at his home following an extended illness. Born in Levering County, Ohio, June 30, 1918, he was a son of the late Lloyd Daniel and Gertrude Streby Levering. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Africa and Italy. He was a 1952 graduate of Glenville State College and was a former biology teacher at Calhoun County High School for 14 years. He established Levering's Grocery Co., Russett, in 1946 and operated it until 1992. He was a member of Millstone Church of Christ where he served as song leader, Bible class teacher, and treasurer. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a former employee of Pennzoil Corporation where he served on the office staff. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Moran Levering; one son, Dale F. Levering, Jr., of Boston, Mass.; three daughters, Mrs. Jeanie Hitchings of Troy, Ohio, Mrs. Monnica Snodgrass and Mrs. Chris Eggleston, both of Ripley; six grandchildren, Dan and Matt Levering, both of Boston; John Franklin Kimble of Troy, Tommy and Sarah Snodgrass and Tyler Dale Levering, all of Ripley; and one brother, Lloyd A. Burger of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Douglas Levering, in 196l; and two brothers, Robert W. Levering of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Donald H. Levering of Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services are scheduled Thursday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Evangelists Richard Vanhorn and Danny Lamby officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery. Edith V. Little, 80, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Grantsville, a daughter of the late Earl E. Gates and Eva Lulu Hathaway Gates. She was retired from Montgomery Ward. She was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and was a Camden- Clark Memorial Hospital Auxiliary volunteer. Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Cowdery of Belpre; one son, David Little of Parkersburg; five grandsons; and one sister, Elizabeth Walker of Parkersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie D. Little; one grandson, Dean Cowdery; and one brother, Carl Gates. Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Charles E. Potts officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Claude O. Lockhart, 89, of Belpre, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1993, at his residence. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late John and Fonie Wilson Lockhart. He worked for American Viscose Co. for 17 years and for Union Carbide until his retirement. He was a member of the Marietta Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Lockhart; one daughter, Clara Williams of Elyria, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Connie Holbert of Chester, Va.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clay Lockhart of Westminster, Calif.; two sisters, Laura Cooper and Goldie Perkins, both of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Ott Lockhart; one son, Calvin Lockhart; one stepson, Ronnie Conley; four brothers, and one sister. Lucille W. Lockhart, 82, of Parkersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 1994, at her residence. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late John and Mattie Erlewine Walker. She was a Calhoun County High School graduate, and taught school in Calhoun County. She was a member of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and Seventh Street United Methodist Church, where she was active in Rachel Missions Circle and Friendship Sunday School Class. Surviving are one sister, Vada W. Smith of Parkersburg; five stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yancy S.Lockhart; one stepson, Richard Lockhart; and four brothers. Ralph D. Lowe, 91, of Vienna, died Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at Camden- Clark Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Round Knob, Roane County, a son of the late Christopher and Emma S. Sinnett Lowe. He was a retired civil engineer for W. Va. Dept. of Highways and had served as a civil engineer during World War II in the construction of defense plants. He was a member of Advent Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Esta Lowe; two sisters, Beulah Taylor and Ethelyn Shimp, both of Spencer; and one brother, Richard Lowe of Spencer. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Pearlie Ray Lowther, 81, of Orma, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 1994, at Richwood Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Tyler County and was a farmer. Surviving are his caretaker, Sharon Suttle of Orma, with whom he resided. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Orma United Methodist Church, with Rev. Carl Marks officiating, and burial in Orma cemetery.
LYONS, RUTH
Ruth E. Lyons, 84, of Creston, Ohio, died Thursday, Mar. 31, at her residence after a long illness. She was born in 1909 in Big Otter to Joshua and Eliza (Miller) Tanner and married
Robert Lee Lyons on Aug. 1, 1934. He died Nov. 14, 1960. She had made her home in the Nebo area most of her life, moving to Creston eight years ago. She was a nurse's aide at the former Rosy Rae Nursing Home in Seville. She was a member of Grace Cathedral, Akron, Ohio, and was an avid quilter and banjo player. Surviving are six children. Mrs. David (Rosalee) Metheney and Mrs. Ronzel (Betty) Tanner, both of Creston, Franklin of Sharon, Pa., David Lee Lyons of Burnsville, Mrs. George (Janet Kay) Bourne of Hermitage, Pa., and Eliza Jane Hanshaw of Clay; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Tanner of Creston; and three sisters, Anna Jarvis, Clara Tanner, and Mary Drake, all of Chloe. In addition to her husband, one son, Virgil, two infant children, one sister, Amanda, and four brothers, Owen, Ernest, Sherdon and Robert, died previously. Services were held at Murray Funeral Home, Creston, with Rev. William Davis officiating. Burial was in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
