MARTIN, ZELLA WEBB

Zella Webb Martin, 73, of Spencer, died Friday, May 5, 1995, at Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. She was born in Altizer, a daughter of the late Ballard and Effie Price Craddock. She was a retired employee of the former Spencer Church of Christ. Surviving are two sons, Charles Lewis Webb of Spencer and Steven Allen Martin of Cross Lanes; three daughters, Diana Morrison of Jackson, Mich., Martha Cooper of Spencer and Tammy Roberts of Charleston; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thurman Casto Webb, in 1950; her second husband, Ralph Donald Martin, in 1972; one brother, Clifford Craddock; and two sisters, Hazel Givens and Elva Roberts. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Gene Miller and Don Southall officiating. Burial was in Clover cemetery, Spencer.

MAZE, ALBERT G.

Albert G. Maze, 89, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Grantsville, died Friday, Oct. 27, 1995, at his residence. He was a member of Northview Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lona Dell Maze of Pensacola; son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Rosalind Maze of Pensacola; daughter and son-in-law, Marie Hope and Harold Halstead of Pensacola; five grandchildren, Sabrina Edwards, Lisa Shears, Dean Halstead, Barbara Ann Day and Sherry Gordon; six great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ethel Maze of Belpre, Ohio; and a nephew, Hale Maze of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; one grandson, Larry Eugene Maze, and one great-grandson. Services were held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, Pensacola, with Rev. Charles Mott officiating. Burial was in Bayview Memorial Park.

MAZE, OKEY B.

Okey B. Maze, 77, of Mineral Wells, died Sunday, Mar. 5, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illness. He was born in Industry, a son of the late James and Minnie Davis Maze. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and retired in 1973 with 33 years of service as a melter at Youngstown Sheet & Tube, East Chicago, Ind. He moved to Mineral Wells from Indiana in 1991, and was a former member and held various offices in First Baptist Church of Hammond, Ind.; Griffith Baptist Church, Griffith, Ind.; and First Baptist Church of Warsaw, Ind. He was a member of Grace Gospel Church, Pettyville. Surviving are his wife of 54 years. Reva Pettit Maze; one son, Dennis Maze of Griffith; one sister, Dixie Baker of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Freddie Maze; and one sister, Goldie Maze. Services will be held Thursday, Mar. 9, 2 p.m., at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev.Bill Angel and Rev. Mike Poole officiating. Burial will be in Wolverton cemetery, Munday, with military honors by Elizabeth American Legion Post 55. Visitation was scheduled after 2 p.m. on Wednesday and until 2 p.m. on Thursday.

McCOY, SCOTTIE

Scottie McCoy, 84, of Hur, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995, at her residence after a short illness. She was born in Hur, a daughter of the late James Evert and Ida Scott McCoy. She was owner and operator of McCoy Store, Hur, for more than 50 years. Surviving are one niece, Beatrice Dobson of Gallipolis, Ohio; one nephew, Jim McCoy of Smithville; three great-nephews; and three great-nieces. She was preceded in death by five brothers, F.F. McCoy, Harley McCoy, Alley McCoy, Cleo McCoy and Paul McCoy; two nieces; and three nephews. Services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. D.L. Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery, near Grantsville. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.

McCUMBERS, ELMER

Elmer M. McCumbers, 62, of Millstone, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995, at Roane General Hospital. He was born in Orma, a son of the late Jink and Corda Goff McCumbers. He was a timbercutter and farmer. Surviving are his wife, Stella Bailey McCumbers; one daughter, Anna Runnon of Parkersburg; one stepdaughter, Paula Wigal of Newark; five stepsons, Thomas Yearian of Windham, Ohio, James Yearian of Nashville, Tenn., Paul Yearian of Akron, Ohio, Jerry Wigal of Lebanon, Ohio, and Sterling Wigal of Mineral Wells; three sisters, Della Goodwin and Alma Doolittle, both of Spencer, and Mabel VanBuren of Rosedale; one grandchild; and 10 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Ben Kirby and Cleston Garrett officiating. Burial was in Mt. Run cemetery, Nicut.

McCUMBERS, ORVA GAY

Orva Gay McCumbers, 72, of Aberdeen, Md., died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1995, at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, Md. She was born in Nicut, the daughter of Gruder and Ella Gay Bailey Rogers. She was a protestant, homemaker and former owner of Ball Park Restaurant, Street, Md. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Stanley Gerald "Staley" McCumbers of Aberdeen; three daughters, Ella Ann DelSignore and Janet Lynn Wood, both of Baltimore, Md., and Shelia Jean French of Edgewood, Md.; mother, Ella Gay Bailey Rogers of St. George; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester Forest and Bernice Josephine Brady Rogers of Balitmore, and Captain Ford and Donie Estaline Moffatt Rogers of Arnoldsburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Artie Jewel and Leonard Allen Cogar of Webster Springs, Doris Emogene and Allen Dale Myers, and Tina Garnett Myers, all of St. George; six grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by twin babies and another baby; nephew, Chester Lee Rogers; father, Gruder Rogers; brother-in-law, Charles Edward Myers; and her daughter, Amelia Carman "Amy" Snyder, 36, who died Nov. 25, 1994. Services were held at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, Aberdeen, with her nephew Ronald Keith Rogers of Baltimore officiating. A poem, "We Knew Her Very Well, " written by her daughter Janet on the day of her death, was read at the funeral. The singers included two granddaughters, Crystal Marie French and Amanda Lynn Potcner, who sang "Amazing Grace." Burial was in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, Timonium, Md.

McCUMBERS, THOMAS

Thomas E. McCumbers, 78, of Nicut, died Monday, Jan. 23, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illness. He was born in Nicut, a son of the late Samuel and Viola Tucker McCumbers. He was a livestock farmer, and a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, Nicut. Surviving are his wife, Maxine Rogers McCumbers; three daughters, Sharon Knotts of Orma, Earnestine Fulks of Nicut and Tina Vaughan of Spencer; one son, Kelvin McCumbers of Richmond, Va.; one step- daughter, Debbie Mace of Spencer; three brothers, Judson McCumbers of Nicut, Clyde McCumbers of Rosedale and Joe McCumbers of Ohio; one sister, Marie Cottrell of Dover, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Texie McCumbers, in 1964; three sisters; and three brothers. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Elder Charles Fisher officiating. Burial was in Mount Run cemetery.

McDONALD, GARY LEE

Gary Lee McDonald, 35, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, May 23, 1995, at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Jackson County. He was born in Jackson County, a son of Barbara Richards McDonald of Millwood and the late Otis Randall McDonald. He was a 1978 Ravenswood High School graduate and was employed by Carl Smith, Inc., as crew chief for S.S. Racing. He was a member of the National Wildlife Federation. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Tracy Leigh Embrey McDonald; one son, Gage Lewis McDonald of the home; one sister, Sandra Stalnaker of Beckley; and his maternal grandmother, Muriel Milliron of Grantsville. Services were held at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenwsood, with Rev. Hubert Groves officiating. Burial was in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.

McGILL, EARSEL I.

Earsel I. McGill, 88, of Harrisville, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 1995, at Sheppard Health Care Center, Ellenboro. He was born in Straight Fork, near Burnt House, Ritchie County, a son of the late Franklin and Rilda Crites McGill. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the invasion of Normandy, the Ardennes Offensive, and the Rhineland Occupation. He was a farmer, and had owned and operated McGill's Grocery on the Ritchie- Calhoun line for several years. He retired as a self-employed carpenter, and formerly attended Beech Valley United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Gerna Glean McGill; and one brother, Waldo McGill of Big Springs. He was preceded in death by one brother, Hobert McGill; and three sisters, Annie Gill, Artie Newbrough and Janie Farrell. Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Rev. John Frum officiating. Burial was in IOOF cemetery, Harrisville.

McINTOSH, BEURNICE

Beurnice Vaughan McIntosh, 81, of Davisville, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 1995, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late William T. and Flora Luman Boyce. She was active in Wood County 4-H and founded the Stillwell 4-H Club in the Murphytown area 48 years ago. She was a member of various Parkersburg area bowling leagues and Sunrise Church of Christ. Surviving are three sons, Charles Vaughan, Jr., of Davisville, William Vaughan of Anchorage, Alaska, and James Vaughan of Culloden; one daughter, Mary Lou Holman of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles C. Vaughan, Sr.; second husband, Clarence McIntosh; two brothers, Francis Boyce and Roscoe Boyce; one sister, Beulah Hewitt; and one grandson. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Winfred R. Lucas officiating, and burial in Sunset Memory Gardens.

McKOWN, GLENNIE G.

Glennie G. McKown, 88, of Arnoldsburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995, at Roane General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born at Beech, a son of the late Isaac D. and Emily Starcher McKown. He was a U.S. Army Military Police veteran of World War II and was a retired employee of Spencer State Hospital. Surviving are one son, Garrell McKown of Barberton, Ohio; brothers, Leon McKown of Leachtown, Dave McKown of Spencer, and Edward McKown of Arnoldsburg; and one sister, Goldie Hall of Sissonville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verbal Sampson McKown; and four brothers. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Howard Nichols and Rev. Olive Swiney officiating. Burial was in Bailey cemetery, near Minnora.

McKOWN, JEWELL E.

Jewell E. McKown, 73, of Arnoldsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 1995, at Charleston Area Medical Center, after an extended illness. She was born in Beech, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Parsons Wayne. She was a homemaker and a member of Arnoldsburg Community Church. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Edward G. McKown; three sons, George D. McKown of Walker, Clarence E. McKown and Charles W. McKown, both of Arnoldsburg; one daughter, Margaret Marie Nofs of Berryville, Va.; two brothers, Ersel Wayne of Spencer and Joseph Wayne of Akron; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Howard Nichols and Rev. Olive Swiney officiating. Burial was in Sand Ridge cemetery.

McKOWN, LEON "ONNIE'

Leon "Onnie" McKown, 86, of Walker, Leachtown Community, died Sunday, July 30, 1995, at St. Joseph's Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Isaac and Emily Starcher McKown. He was an Orma merchant for 18 years and a farmer. He attended Orma United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mae Newell McKown; two sons, Gary McKown of Philadelphia and David McKown of Denver; two brothers, Edward McKown of Arnoldsburg and I.D. "Dave" McKown of Spencer; one sister, Goldie Hall of Sissonville; and two grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Jim Yoak officiating. Burial will be in Orma United Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation was scheduled 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday.

McMILLIN, ALBERT B.

Albert B. McMillin, 86, formerly of Belpre, died Friday, Aug. 18, 1995, at West Virginia Masonic Home, Vienna. He was born in Beaver Falls, Pa., a son of the late Harry and Emma Means McMillin. He was a retired supervisor in the highway construction industry for many years in West Virginia and Ohio. He was a member of Eureka Lodge 40, AF&AM, Grantsville, Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, and attended Calvary Community Church, Belpre. Surviving are one son, Ronald McMillin of Hickory, N.C.; one daughter, Marian Radabaugh of Hazlet, N.J.; one sister, Melissa Richards of Dublin, Ohio; four grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Tanner McMillin, in 1965. Services were held at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Arbogast officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites.
