BROWN, CLYDE W.

Clyde W. Brown, 88, of Montana Mines community, Fairmont, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1994, at Grafton City Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Stephen Jacob and Josephine Elizabeth Keaton Brown. He retired in 1968 from B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Plant, Akron, where he worked for more than 40 years. After his retirement, he and his wife returned to Fairmont. He was a member of Hoult United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, softball and baseball. He coached a little league softball team in Akron. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Margaret L. Holbert Brown; four sons, James William Brown, Sr., of Florida, John Robert Brown of Atlanta, Ga., Howard L. Brown of Stow, Ohio, and Lawrence C. Brown of Munroe Falls, Ohio; three daughters, Opal M. Bolyard and Roberta Masters, both of Montana Mines, and Karen Sue Coe of Cutler; four sisters, Mable Yutz of Kent, Ohio, Erma Keiskell of Fairmont, Reva VanGilder of Bunner Ridge, and Callie Pontius of Milton Lake, Ohio; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Brown and Hobert Brown; three sisters, Agnes Stevens, Sarah Pontius and Mary Brown; and two grandsons, Robert Lynn Brown and George Allen Brown. Services were held at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, Fairmont. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery.

BROWN, RUTH P.

Ruth P. Brown, 72, of Coolville, Ohio, died Thursday, July 28, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late James and Alice Butler Siers. She was a homemaker and a member of Brookpark United Methodist Church, Brookpark, Ohio. Surviving are her husband, Sheridan R. Brown; two daughters, Betty Arnold of Coolville and Carolyn Knotts of Vincent; two sons, John Brown of Brookpark and Richard Brown of Medina, Ohio; five sisters, Nelsie Parsons of Grove City, Ohio, Hazel Kreighbaum of Uniontown, Ohio, Orma Criss of Massillon, Ohio, Verba King of Chloe and Nell Jarvis of Spencer; three brothers, Sherwood Siers of Fayetteville, Ray Siers of Chloe and Shirley Siers of Charleston; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Jarvis. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg with Rev. Helen Kline officiating. Burial was in Minnora cemetery.

TAYLOR, ALBERT

Albert Taylor, 60, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, August 23, 1994, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Clinton, Ohio, a son of the late Andrew and Minnie May Legg Taylor. He was a laborer, and a member of Prosperity Baptist Church. Surviving are one sister, Ester Legg of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. James Epling officiating. Burial was in Taylor cemetery, Big Bend.

TOLLIVER, EDITH MAE

Edith Mae Tolliver, 61, of Spencer, died Tuesday, May 10, 1994, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Mt. Nebo, a daughter of the late Oscar Manuel and Lucille Edith O'Dell Yearian. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Daniel K. Tolliver; three daughters, Loretta Mae McCormick of Big Bend, Edith Irene Sloan of Princeton and Rosetta Lucille Cottrell of Stumptown; seven sons, Robert Kin Tolliver of Grantsville, Kenneth Eugene Tolliver of Long Bottom, Ohio, Melvin Lee Tolliver and Claude Clarence Tolliver, both of the home, Delbert Ray Tolliver of Parma, Ohio, John Richard Tolliver of Mt. Zion and Marvin Raymond Tolliver of Reedsville; one brother, Claude Yearian of Charlestown, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Allen Tolliver; two sisters; and three brothers. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Richard W. Perrine officiating. Burial was in Spencer Memorial cemetery.

TREANTAFEL, GEORGE N.

George N. Treantafel, 78, of Oka, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 1994, at Calhoun General Hospital. He was born in Boston, Mass., and was a retired radar installation supervisor for the Federal Aviation Administration. Surviving are his wife, Winnie H. Treantafel; three sons, George A. Treantafel of Raymond, N.H., Ronnie P. Treantafel of Boston and Philip A. Treantafel of Derry, N.H.; two daughters, Brita M. Elliott of Portsmouth, N.H., and Gina O'Brian of Hampton, N.H., three stepsons, David P. Wriston of Sherrells Ford, N.C., Ricky G. Wriston of Germany and John D. Wriston of Sanford, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Phala D. Wriston of Sanford; 13 grandchldren; and 13 great- grandchildren. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Sy Jarvis cemetery, Chloe.

TRIPLETT, OLA LEE

Ola Lee "Pookie" Triplett, 58, of Big Springs, died Friday, Aug. 19, 1994, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Big Springs, a daughter of Maggie Norman Richards of Big Bend and the late Desmoin Richards. She was a homemaker. Surviving are two sons, Perry Richards of Big Springs and Dennis Paul Ford of Jeannette, Pa.; two daughters, Anna Music of Williamson and Charlott Shaffer of Cleveland; three sisters, Dessel Starcher of Barberton, Ohio, Sadie Cunningham of Parkersburg and Patricia Knight of Nobe; four brothers, Charles Richards of Big Springs, and Larry Richards, Denver Richards and Ronzel Richards, all of Big Bend; and nine grandchildren. Services were held at Fairview Church, Norman Ridge. Burial was in Fairview Church cemetery.

TRIPPETT, ODA IREENE

Oda Irene Trippett, 75, of Parkersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Rebecca Burrows Cogar. She was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Paul Trippett; two sons, Dale Metz and Charles Metz, both of Grantsville; one daughter, Betty Emerick of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lilly Cogar of Glenville. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Services were held at Lambert-Tatman, Parkersburg, with Rev. Kenneth Maze officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

BULLARD, JEAN

Mrs. Jean Bullard, 84, of Tampa, Fla., died Monday, May 30, 1994, in Tampa, following an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late George Warren and Cordelia Short Knotts. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Eupha Davis of Decatur, Ala.; two sons, Euell Bullard of Grantsville and Robert Bullard of Tampa; one brother, George Blackie Knotts of Orma; one sister, Mrs. Gay Stalnaker of Weston; three grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce E. Bullard, in 1965; three sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 2, and services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg.

BURNS, MADGE E.

Madge E. Burns, 86, of Grantsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1993, at St. Joseph's Hospital Parkersburg, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Scott and Lona Wilson Peninger. She was a homemaker. Surviving are one son, Robert Burns of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter, Colleen Duskey of Grantsville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Burns, and one brother, Eugene B. Peninger. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial was in Bethlehem cemetery.

BUSCH, WILLIAM H.

William Harold Busch, 72, of Glendale, Ariz., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 1994, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Big Bend, a son of the late E. Ray and L. Blanche Ferrell Busch. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served on Guadalcanal in the South Pacific. He was self-employed in oil and gas drilling all over West Virginia and parts of Ohio for about 45 years, and was president of Calhoun County Masonic Lodge 40, AF&AM, Grantsville, Charleston Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and Parkersburg Nemesis Shrine Temple. He was a lifetime member of Royal order of Jesters, Parkersburg Court 156, and a longtime member of Grantsville Lions Club and Parkersburg Elks and Moose Clubs. Surviving are a long-time friend, Erma Lee Wilson; two daughters, Pamela Schultz of Miami, Fla., and Gina Busch of Charleston; two grandsons; one brother, Ray Maxwell Busch of Parkersburg; one niece; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Stoneking. Services were held at Heritage Funeral Chapel, Peoria. The body was cremated. Additional Services were pending at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with burial in Mount Olivet cemetery. William Harold Busch, 72, Glendale, Ariz., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 1994 Services were held at the time at Heritage Funeral Chapel, Peoria. The body was cremated. Additional services were held Saturday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Paul Morton officiating. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery.

BUTLER, DELMAS F.

Delmas F. Butler, 49, of Palestine, died Thursday, June 2, 1994, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Orma, a son of the late Herbert and Lida Sampson Butler. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed farming. He resided in Wirt County for 16 years. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Kathy Mitchell Butler; two sons, Frank Butler of West Salem, Ohio, and Jeff Butler of Palestine; one daughter, Crystal Butler of Parkersburg; one half-brother, Dallas White of Berlin Center, Ohio; one sister, Vonda Vance of Orrville, Ohio; and two granddaughters. Services were held at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev. Donald A. Tranel officiating. Burial was in Antioch cemetery, Palestine, with military honors by American Legion Post 55, Elizabeth.

CAIN, DARRELL E.

Darrell E. Cain, 42, of Parkersburg, died Sunday, May 8, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Jake Stump and Lyda Cain Wright. He was a member of the 19th Street Church of God. Surviving are his wife, Mae Croy Cain; one son, James E. Cain of the home; one daughter, Angel E. Cain of the home; three sisters, Marilyn Bunner of Munday, Joyce Sarter of Parkersburg and Dianne Dikeman of Athens; and two brothers, Joe Cain of Vienna and James Wright of Parkersburg. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dalmas Wright. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at 19th Street Church of God, with Rev. Charles Duncan officiating, and entombment in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

CAIN, EVERETT

Everett Cain, 93, of Big Bend, died Friday, Mar. 11, 1994, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late T.C. and Molly Thomas Cain. Early in life he had operated logging rafts on the Little Kanawha River and was a retired Calhoun County elementary school teacher. He was a prominent oil and gas producer, had founded Cain Livestock Farms of Big Bend, and had served several terms on the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee. He was a member of Calhoun County Farm Bureau, and Brooksville Missionary Baptist Church, Big Bend. Surviving are two sons, Francis Cain and Dr. Joe Cain, both of Big Bend; one daughter, Jewell Siegrist of Creston; one sister, Florence Snider of Kingwood; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva M. Cain; one grandson, Dean Cain; three brothers; and one sister. Services were held at Brooksville Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Barry Christian officiating. Burial was in Cain Family cemetery, Big Bend.
