McCRAY, RUSSELL

Russell McCray, 59, of Brohard, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 1994, at his residence after an extended battle with lung cancer. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Charles H. and Ethel McIntyre McCray. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from Corning Glass Works after 32 years of service. He was a life member of American Flint Glass Workers Union, and was a Baptist by faith. Surviving are his wife, Launna Roberts McCray; two sons, David Russell McCray and Mark Lewis McCray, both of Brohard; one brother, Charles W. McCray of Parkersburg; one sister, Eleanor Gifford of Parkersburg; and one half brother, Johnny F. Goodnight of Brohard. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Joseph Alan McCray. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Matheny-Pomroy Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev. John Gibson officiating, and burial to be in Hartley cemetery, Wirt County.

McCUNE, NELLIE G.

Nellie G. McCune, 88, of Ambridge, Pa., formerly of Calhoun County, died Saturday, Apr. 30, 1994, at Aliquippa Hospital, Aliquippa, Pa., after a brief illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Isaac and Dale Vannoy Harris. She was a former employee of Capitol Restaurant, Aliquippa. Surviving are a sister, Oleta Pratt of Grafton Ohio; a brother, John Harris of Akron, Ohio; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McCune; and a daughter, Leota Green. Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Glendon McKee officiating, and burial to be in Orma cemetery.

McDONALD, J. PARKER

J. Parker McDonald, 75, of Sharon, died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Sharon Regional Health System's Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Grantsville, a son of Tell and Ethel Parker McDonald. He was a 1943 graduate of West Virginia University, where he received a business degree, and was a member of Kappa Sigma Faternity. He worked with Brenner Industrial Sales & Supply Co., Youngstown, for 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sharon. He is survived by his wife, the former Kathleen M. Swanson; three daughters, Mrs. Gretchen L. Workman of Arlington, Texas, Mrs. Sandra K. Tarkanick of Hermitage and Miss Tina M. of St. Anthony, Minn.; two sons, Jay of Leesburg, Va., and Scott of Waxahachie, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Gail Mills of Elizabeth; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ruth Witt, and a brother, Romeo. Services were held at Sherman Funeral Home.

MENZEL, WILLIAM T.

William T. "Willie" Menzel, 7, passed away in Ohio after a long illness. He was born in Canton, Ohio, Jan. 17, 1986, and was a second grader at Nolley Elementary School and attended Calvary Bible Church. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Menzel; father, Terry Greathouse; two brothers, Jason Menzel and Anthony Greathouse; a sister, Jennifer Menzel; maternal grandparents, William T. and Dortha Horton; paternal grandmother, Juanita Greathouse; great-grandmother, Edith Runyans; Aunt Terrie and Aunt Sherrie and other aunts and uncles; special friends, Ryan Simko, Jackie Carpas, Koach France, Marianne Goebel, the Whited family; and teachers, classmates, and friends at Manchester. Services were held at Bacher Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio, and at Minnora United Methodist Church with Rev. Lester Tanner officiating. Burial was in Hicks cemetery.

METHENEY, RONALD L.

Ronald L. Metheney, 57, of Cleveland, Ohio, died Thursday, Mar. 31, 1994, at Cleveland Metro Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late William M. and Sarah Jarvis Metheney. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed by American Japaning Corp. of Cleveland. Surviving are his wife, Ann Sellers Metheney; two sons, Ronald W. Metheney of Marshallville, Ohio, and Gary G. Metheney of Cleveland; one stepson, Gary Sellers of Cleveland; three brothers, Troy Metheney of Cleveland, Donnie Metheney of Seville, Ohio, and Dewey Metheney of Creston, Ohio; two sisters, Halcie Shaffer of Chloe and Nelsie Raustead of Florida; and three grandchildren. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Metheney cemetery, Nebo.

METZ, ALLEN

Allen E. Metz, 53, of Spencer, died Saturday, June 18, 1994, at Roane General Hospital, after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of Ray and Opha Pursley Metz of Spencer. He was formerly employed at Spencer State Hospital and at Crihfield's Motors as a body repairman. He was a U.S. Army veteran, participating in the Bay of Pigs incident. He was a member of Spencer Tabernacle where he served as deacon and class leader. He was a member of American Legion Post 21. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Barbara LeMasters Metz; one son, Michael Metz of Spencer; and one brother, Harold Metz of Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene Metz, John Metz, and Don Metz. Services were held at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Larry Haught officiating. Burial was at the convenience of the family.

MILLER, DOROTHY E.

Dorothy E. Miller, 61, of Grantsville, died Friday, Jan. 21, 1994, at Charleston Area Medical Center-General Division, Charleston. She was born in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Lloyd Bud and Etta Cutlip Parsons. Surviving are three daughters, Arletta Davis of Grantsville, Pamela Menefee of Creston, and Iva Wagoner of Big Springs; three sons, Dean Miller of Rogers, Ohio, Jerry Miller of North Bloomfield, Ohio, and Wilber Miller of Grantsville; 14 grandchildren, including Carl Menefee of Cleveland, Ohio, whom she raised; two brothers, Ellsworth Parsons of Genevia, Ohio; one sister, Garnita Carter of Tempe, Ariz.; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Remus Miller; one brother, Arden Parsons; and one sister, Mary Parsons. Services were held at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Larry Haught officiating. Burial was in Clover cemetery, near Spencer.

MILLER, JACK NEAL

Jack Neal Miller, 56, of Reedy, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at Roane General Hospital, after a long illness. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of Vanus and Opal White Miller of Reedy. He was a farmer and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, Reedy. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Janet Shaffer Miller; two sons, Jeffrey N. Miller of Elizabeth and Jack Wayne Miller of Reedy; two sisters, Wanda Davis of Pettyville and Shirley Wilcox of Davisville; one brother, Rex Miller of Reedy; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Skinner; and one brother, Bob L. Miller. Services were held at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. John Ellison officiating. Burial was in Good Hope cemetery, near Reedy.

MILLER, ROBERT (BUD)

Robert (Bud) Miller, 58, of Stow, Ohio, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1993. He was born in Calhoun County, son of the late Cecil and Lennie Starcher Miller. He had been employed at Mohawk Rubber and was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Stow; four daughters, Valerie Fishel, Vera Miller, Sheila Kenna, all of Stow, and Vivien Brugge of Montrose, Colo.; three grandchildren and four brothers, Sonny Miller, Jerry Miller, and Don Miller, all of Ohio, and Gene Miller of Calhoun; and two sisters, Pauline Sisler and Linda Mack of Ohio. Memorial services were held at Redmon Funeral Home, Stow, with Rev. Larry T. West officiating.

MOLLETT, CLAUDINE

Claudine (Freshour) Mollett, 72, of Chandler, Ariz., died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1994, after an extended illness. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Asa and Charolotte Freshour. Surviving are her husband, Harvey of Chandler; four children, Robert of Smithville, and Delbert, Roger and Louise of Arizone; twin sister, Kathleen Lacy of Richfield, Ohio, Thelma of Arizona, Zelma of Vienna, Geraldine Frederick of Harrisville, Madge Rogowski and Ruie Plant, both of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a son, Harold; a sister, Ruth Ayers; and two brothers, Carl and Boyd Freshour. Burial was in Arizona.

MOORE, JOSEPH

Joseph Moore, 74, of Arnoldsburg, died Saturday, Mar. 26, 1994, at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, after a brief illness. He was born in Bluefield and was a retired attorney in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a member of the Jewish Ministry of Chula Mista, Calif. There are no known survivors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Tracy Moore. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Sycamore Baptist Church cemetery, Millstone.

MULLINS, MABEL C.

Mabel C. Greathouse Mullins, 91, of Ravenswood, formerly of Maysel, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1993, at Belleville, Ill. She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Calvin Rubon and Manora Noe Greathouse. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church of Ravenswood, Navy's Mother's Club, Senior Citizens Club and R.S.C.P. Surviving are one daughter, Arlene Vineyard of Maysel; six sons, Perry P. Mullins and Robert Lee Mullins, both of Seattle, Wash., James Howard of Barberton, Ohio, William G. Mullins of Ravenswood, Meredith Wayne Mullins of Belleville, Ill., and Clarence Calvin Mullins of Columbus; one brother, Edgar Greathouse of Max Meadows, Va.; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and seven great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arless Ernest Kendall; her second husband, James Excell Mullins; and one son, Ernest Glen. Services were held at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Rev. Jack Gwinn officiating. Burial was in Mullins cemetery, Maysel.

MUSIC, BLANCHE

Blanche Music, 62, of Arnoldsburg, died Fridy, Dec. 24, 1993, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Bevins, Ky., a daughter of the late Charles and Lillie Stanley Yates. She was a former nurse's aide at Calhoun General Hospital, and was a member of Leatherbark Community Church near Arnoldsburg. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Music, one son, Charles Music of Williamson; two daughters, Sharon Golka of Manchester, Mich., and Linda Music of Newport News, Va.; seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Carl Marks officiating. Burial was in Minnora cemetery, Minnora.

NELSON, PATRICIA JEAN

Patricia Jean "Sally" Nelson, 54, of Big Springs, died Friday, Nov. 4, 1994, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Wirt County, a daughter of the late Norf and Alma Virginia Wayne Nelson. She was an employee of United Manufacturing Co., Harrisville, with 18 years of service. She was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church, Big Springs. Surviving are four sisters, Rosetta Goodnight of Walker, Mary Mackey and Alma Lemley, both of Parkersburg, and Cecelia Bell of Ravenna, Ohio; three brothers, Claude Nelson of Holland, Mich., Charles Nelson of Davisville and Lloyd Nelson of Parkersburg. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Nelson and Norf Nelson, Jr. Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Richard McKenzie officiating. Burial was in King Knob cemetery, Mahone.
