Daisy L. Cronin
Daisy L. Cronin, 83, of Parkersburg died Aug. 13, 2002, at the Willows Nursing Home. She was born in St. Marys, the daughter of the late William and Dessie Wright Locke. She was a member of the St. John United Methodist Church and had been employed by the Dils Department Store in the Yum Yum Tree.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Cronin Cale of Belpre; two grandchildren, Chad Wesley Cronin of Corbin, KY., and Shelley Anne Hatfield of Parkersburg; and one great-grandchild, Scott Andrew Prelle of Parkersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Cronin; one son, Darrell Cronin; and one sister, Olive McKnight.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be today from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Elah Rue Davis
Elah Rue Davis, 69, of Belmont died July 18, 2001, in Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Ora and Chloe McGlothlin Helmic. She was a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church, charter member of the St. Marys Lioness Club, was a Pleasants County magistrate for approximately 20 years, member of the Belmont Homemakers Club, a 25-year member of the St. Marys Woman’s Club, a member of the Amity Rebekah Lodge, St. Marys, and attended the St. Marys Senior Citizen functions. She was a seamstress as well as being very artistic.

Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Poole and her husband, Charles of Spencer, Angela Lafferre and her husband, Steve of Petersburg and Sharon Beck and her husband John of Belmont; four grandchildren, Renee and Tracey Beck of Belmont, JuliAnna Poole of Spencer and Bethany Lafferre of Petersburg; one sister-in-law, Wilma Davis of Parkersburg; one nephew, Lt. Cmdr. George Davis III of Washington , D.C.; and one niece, Cassandra Davis of the U.S. Air Force in England.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Hayward Purkey officiating. Burial in Pleasant Memorial Estates, Eureka. Calling hours are 4-9 p.m. today and until service time Saturday.

Imogene ‘Imie’ Bayless Davis
Imogene ‘Imie’ Bayless Davis, 74, of St. Marys, died Aug. 20, 2001, at her residence. She was born May 27, 1927, in Newport, Ohio, daughter of the late Everett Alfred and Cloe Alberta Thomas McGee. She was a 1946 graduate of Newport High School and a former secretary for the school. She was a member of the Newport United Methodist Church, a member of the Ellenboro Chapter 20 Order of the Eastern Star and was a retired beautician. She had operated beauty shops in both Newport and St. Marys. She loved to sew and cook.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ralph W. Davis; two sons, Bill Bayless and his wife, Susy of Ellenboro and Richard Davis and his wife, Brenda of St. Marys; grandchildren, Craig and Jenny Bayless of Parkersburg, Richard Lee and Marci Davis of Belmont, W.Va., and Barbara and John Burns of St. Marys; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Summer Bayless of Parkersburg and Caleb Burns of St. Marys; one brother, Gerald McGee of Milton, Fla.; one sister, Peggy Wright of Newport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David R. Bayless; and two brothers, George G. McGee and H. Alfred McGee.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys, with the Rev. Hayward Perkey officiating. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery of Ohio. Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m.

Margaret H. Davis
Margaret H. Davis, 94, of St. Marys died June 24, 2002.

She is survived by two children, Ottis D. "Danny" Davis, and Judy Mae Davis both of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Dwight Davis of Parkersburg, and Denise Davis Padden of Vienna; four great-grandchildren; and one brothers, Norvel F. Smith of Vienna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, O. D. Davis; one sister; one brother.

Services, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Calling hours from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Sarah Louise Davis
Sarah Louise Davis, 52, of Belmont, WV, died Jan. 10, 2002, at Marietta Memorial Hospital of OH.

She was born Dec. 25, 1949, in Belmont, a daughter of Daniel Paul and Esther Louise Moore Scadden of St. Marys. She was a member of the Willow Island Baptist Church of Willow Island, WV. She was a 1967 graduate of St. Marys High School. She had worked at the former Colin Anderson Center, Fenton Art Class, American Cyanamid, Lee Middleton Dolls and Public Debt. Her hobbies included crafts and shopping.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 31 years, Gerald M. Davis; three children, Angela Dawn Baxter of St. Marys, Gerald Scott Davis of Kennesaw, GA. and Buffy Ann Burkhamer of St. Marys; three grandchildren, Cole Burkhamer, Brandon Baxter and Devin Baxter, all of St. Marys; two sisters, Carol Wolfe and Margaret Spears, both of St. Marys; and one brother, Clyde Scadden of St. Marys.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Willow Island Baptist Church. Pastor Dana Locke will officiate. Burial will be in the Willow Island Cemetery. Calling hours are from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys and from noon-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Steven L. Davis
Steven L. Davis, 48, of St. Marys died Feb. 15, 2001.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Roden Davis; two sisters, Charlotte Morris and Carolyn Bunner of St. Marys; one niece, Sheri Lyn Morris of Parkersburg; and two nephews, Joe Morris of San Antonio, Texas and Brandy Bills of Shreveport, La.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial in Pleasants Memorial Estates, Eureka, W.Va. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. today.

Joy Gail Decker
Joy Gail Decker, 65, of Route 3, St. Marys died Feb. 2, 2001, at Carehaven of Pleasants, Belmont, W.Va.

She was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Gray, Ky., a daughter of the late Jack and Vertie Miracle. She had been a cook and healthcare worker at the former Colin Anderson Center, St. Marys.

She is survived by four sons, William L. Decker, Jr., Kenneth Dale Decker, David Lloyd Decker and John Matthew Decker, all of St. Marys; two daughters, Gail Jean Decker of Middlebourne and Evelyn Ruth Fourquerean of Belmont; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Miracle and Curtis ‘‘Gene’’ Miracle, both of the greater Cleveland area; five sisters, Mae Robertson of St. Marys, and Jesse Kontur, June Martukovich, Ava Scherer and Jackie Mosansky, all of the greater Cleveland area; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Decker, Sr.; and one brother, Ted Miracle.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home,St. Marys, Pastor Chuck Rogers officiating. Burial in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Monday and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Cora Edith Morrell Delong
Cora Edith Morrell Delong, 103, of Belmont died Feb. 7, 2001 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1897, in Schultz, Pleasants County, a daughter of the late Anthony and Susie Thrasher Morrell. She was a member of the Waverly Church of Christ, and a member of the Wood County and West Virginia Farm Bureau. She had previously worked as a glassworker in Wheeling.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Irene Delong and Edith and Bill Engle, all of Belmont; two grandchildren and one grandson-in-law, William Edward Engle of Belmont, and Edith Irene and Charles McAtee of Atlanta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. “Billo” Delong, one grandson, John William Engle, four sisters, Cassie Sigler, Hattie Dotson, Mary Dennis, and India Morrell; and eight brothers, Lawrence, Herbert, Clide, Sherman, Ralph, Pit, and twin brothers, Dalison and Salison Morrell.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Waverly Church of Christ, with Evangelist Charles C. Pugh III officiating. Burial will be in Willow Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys and beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.

Helen Demoss
Helen Demoss, 70, of St. Marys died April 7, 2001, at Mount Carmel Health Systems West, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born Dec. 31, 1931, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter and Johanna Illar Nagy. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Marys High School, and a member of the St. Marys Presbyterian Church. She had worked at the local Ben Franklin Store for 30 years, retiring as manager. She helped manage the family Center Theatre and Bowling Alley in her earlier years. She had been a member of the Women’s Bowling Leagues. Her family has lost a dear loved one, but everyone has lost a good friend.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Earl C. Demoss; one son, Danny Demoss of St. Marys; three stepchildren, Louise Frum and her husband Beanie of Bens Run, W.Va., Hazel Davis of Parkersburg, and Joe Demoss and his wife Alicia of St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Thomas of Darlington, Md. and Mary Boyd of Arlington, Va.; one brother, Jim Nagy of Daisytown, Pa.; and one nephew, Gene Nagy of Michigan.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Baggett; and one brother, Steve Nagy.

Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ruttencutter-Imgram Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. R. Daniel Simmons officiating. Burial in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Frances W. Dimit
Frances W. Dimit, 87, of Newport, OH, died June 4, 2002, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1915, in Bells Run, OH, a daughter of the late Louis and Georgeanne Bell. She was an active member in the Newport United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years.

She is survived by one daughter Sarah Holshu and her husband, Floyd of Williamstown, WV; one grandson, Kurtis Monroe; one granddaughter, Krista Cremeans and her husband, Gary; two great-grandchildren, Trey and Brad Cremeans of Lavalette, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Emmett Whaley in 1956; her second husband, Larry Dimit in 1994; four sisters, Lucille Gartley, Marguerite Conway, Edna Spears, Louella Pugmire; and three brothers, Carroll Bell, George Bell, and Bill Bell.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at the Newport United Methodist Church, Newport, with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery, St. Marys. Calling hours from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Newport United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 357, Newport, OH, 45768.

Kandy Kay Dolin
Kandy Kay Dolin, 55, of St. Marys and formerly of Newport, died July 30, 2001, at her residence.

She was born March 4, 1946, in Portsmouth, VA, to the late Raymond and Ruby Cosper Dolin. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of St. Marys. She attended Ewing School and had worked for may years at WASCO, both in Marietta.

She is survived by several cousins, including her cousin and care giver, Patricia Cosper Breedlove, and many friends of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents on both sides of the family and many aunts and uncles.

Services were Thursday, August 2nd at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys with pastor Larry Parker officiating. Burial was in St Marys IOOF Cemetery.
