Barbara Braun Horner
Barbara Braun Horner, 50, of St. Marys died April 29, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 28, 1950, in Pleasants County, a daughter of Thomas D. Braun of St. Marys and the late Mary Smith Braun. She was employed by the Pleasants County Board of Education as a pre-kindergarten aide at the Belmont Elementary School. She attended French Creek Baptist Church, and was a member of Pleasants County School Service Personnel Association and the W.Va. School Service Personnel Association. She was a 1968 graduate of St. Marys High School.

Survivors include her husband, Larry W. Horner; one son, John Horner of Morgantown; one daughter, Heather Horner of St. Marys; two brothers, Larry G. Braun of Lubeck and Thomas W. Braun of St. Marys; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Paul E. Wilson officiating. Burial in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today, from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to Barbara Horner Memorial Fund, c/o First National Bank, P.O. Box 180, St. Marys, W.Va. 26170.

Iva B. Horner
Iva B. Horner, 97, of Route 4, St. Marys died Jan. 20, 2002, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.

She was born Aug. 12, 1904, at Wick, Tyler County, WV, a daughter of the late Ingram Fordice and Ella Virginia Whaley Owens. She had attended various Baptist and Nazarene churches. Her interests included croqueting, reading the Bible, flowers, and gardening.

She is survived by one son, Carl W. Horner of St. Marys; one daughter-in-law, Belva Mae Heath of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Elaine McGee and her husband Harold of Reno, Ohio, Kenneth Horner and his wife Sandra of Washington , NC., and Larry Horner, Garry Horner and his wife Deborah, Norma Farson and her husband Joe and Linda Fetty and her husband Joe, all of St. Marys; 17 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Isa Virginia Brown and her husband Earl of Calcutta, OH; one brother, Creel Owens of Arkansas; and several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hamond Lawrence Horner; one son, Norman Amel Horner; one daughter-in-law, Pearl Vanghn Horner; one granddaughter-in-law, Barbara Horner; two great-granddaughters, Erica Lynn Fetty and Linda Jo Farson; three brothers, Oren Owens, Cecil Owens and Raymond Owens; and one sister, Stella Elser.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial in Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, W.Va. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mildred E. Houser

Mildred E. Houser, 74, of St. Marys, died Dec. 2, 2001, at Marietta Memorial Hospital of Marietta.

She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Raven Rock, WV., a daughter of the late William Wiley and Hannah E. Steinhoff Campbell. She was the wife of the late Arnold 'Doc' Houser. She was a member of the Cow Creek United Methodist Church. She was a 1945 graduate of St. Marys High School. She was an avid quilter with the Silver Needles Quilting Club and the Sr. Citizen's Center. She also was a homemaker.

She is survived by four children, Lizabeth W. Bullman and her husband, Randy of St. Marys, Annette D. Suttle and her husband, Kurtz of Canton, Ohio, Lewis D. Houser and his wife, Renee of Belmont, W.Va. and William W. Houser and his wife, Donna of Shultz, WV.; 12 grandchildren, Amanda and Lucinda Bullman, Bryson Bullman and his wife, Amy, Michelle, Jennifer and Stephanie Suttle, Lewis Houser and his wife, Jennie, Christopher Houser and his wife, Kristina, Joyel Houser, Arnold Houser and his wife, Gina and Aaron and Andrew Houser; five great-grandchildren, Emery, Mikey, Matthew, Dalton and Trenton; one sister, Virginia Eddy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Erica Houser; and two brothers, John and Lewis Houser.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys. Mike Hickman will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Island Cemetery of Willow Island, W.Va. Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and up until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kathryn P. Huether

Kathryn P. Huether, 60, of St. Marys, died Dec. 3, 2001.

She was born in Camden, N.J., a daughter of the late Patrick and Caroline Archer Gismondi. She had been employed at the Trump Arena in Atlantic City, N.J.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Fritz Huether; three sons; one brother, Thomas Gismondi, of New Jersey.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys. Pastor John Strimer will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Alfaretta Cronin Jemison Huggins
Alfaretta Cronin Jemison Huggins, 82, of Route 3, St. Marys died Jan. 6, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.

She was born May 12, 1918, in Williamstown, a daughter of the late Velara Wolfe. She was a member of the Naish Springs Church of Christ, loved to cook, gardening and most of all she enjoyed her family.

Survivors include two children, Joan Higgins and her husband Ralph, and Bill Jemison and his wife Louwannah, all of St. Marys; one stepdaughter, Sue Smittle and her husband John of Vienna; four grandchildren, Colleen Williams, Scott Jemison and Tony Jemison, all of St. Marys, and Diana Hudkins of Parkersburg; one stepgrandson, John M. Smittle of Davisville, W.Va.; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several cousins.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Jemison; and her second husband, Okey Huggins.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Willow Island Baptist Church, Willow Island, W.Va., the Rev. Bill Jemison officiating. Burial in Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys and from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Julian D. Israel
Julian D. Israel, 84, of St. Marys, WV, died, February 17, 2002, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, OH. He was born, June 30, 1917, in St. Marys, WV, a son of the late Delbert "Deb;" and Lena Dotson Israel. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corp in the European Theater. He graduated from St. Marys High School in 1936, and attended St. Marys and Bethel Presbyterian Churches. He formerly served on the St. Marys City Council, and was a charter member of the St. Marys Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from the American Cyanamid Company after 31 years. He was a member of the St. Marys Lodge #41 A. F. & A. M., a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Nemesis Temple of the Shrine. He was an avid golfer, gardener, and handyman.

He is survived by his son, William Israel and his wife, Tina of St. Marys, WV, his sister, Mary Wilson of St. Marys, WV, three grandchildren, Erin L. Norman and her husband, William, Michelle L. Taylor and her husband, James, all of St. Marys, WV, and John W. Israel of Leesburg, VA, three great grandchildren, Laura and Orville Taylor, and Marshall Norman all of St. Marys, WV, five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Eva Snyder Israel, his second wife, Mary Smith Israel, and his brother, John Israel.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at 11 A. M. at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mary Israel
Mary Israel, 86, of St. Marys, WV, died, November 20, 2001, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, OH. She was born, October 22, 1915, at Eureka, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Martha Outward Smith. She was a member and past elder of the St. Marys Presbyterian Church, and was retired from the former Colin Anderson Center, St. Marys, WV.
She is survived by her husband, Julian D. Israel, son, Bill Israel and his wife, Tina of St. Marys, WV, three grandchildren, Erin Norman and her husband, Bill, Michelle Taylor and her husband, James all of St. Marys, WV, and John Israel of Leesburg, VA, two great grandchildren, Laura and James Taylor both of St. Marys, WV, two sisters, Virginia Reeder of Houston, TX and Betty Hollaway and her husband, Donald of Gila Bend, AZ, one brother, Richard Smith and his wife, Marilyn of Canyon Lake, TX, nine nieces, and two nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2001, at 1 P. M. at the St. Marys Presbyterian Church, 303 Washington Street, St. Marys, WV with the Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV is in charge of arrangements.

Arnold Kelley
Arnold Kelley, 77, of Belmont died Jan. 8, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Survivors include two brothers, Everette Kelley of St. Marys and Ernest Kelley of New Martinsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.

Betty J. Kent
Betty J. Kent, 72, of Route 4, St. Marys died Aug. 24, 2002, at Selby General Hospital, Marietta.

She was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Pleasants County, a daughter of the late Everett C. and Zelma V. Pethtel. In her earlier years, she attended the Dewey Avenue Church of Christ. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, crocheting and embroidering.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda D. Dotson of Beach City, OH; one son, Harold F. Anderson Sr. of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Kermit J. Dotson, Casey Paul Dotson and Faith Lynette Dotson, all of Beach City, OH, Coalton James Anderson with the U.S. Army at Fort Sil, OK., David Lewis Anderson of St. Marys and Harold F. Anderson Jr. of Columbus, OH; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Louis Fry of Memphis, TN., Mildred Isabel Calvert of St. Marys and Carolyn J. Durst of Massillon, OH; one brother, Carl Edward Boley of St. Marys; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Anderson; one grandson, Franklin Edward Anderson; one sister, Martha Joan Nichols; and one brother, Joe Boley.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, Evangelist Dan Kessinger officiating. Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery, Route 16, Pleasants County. The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Joseph C. Kidder
Joseph C. Kidder, 90, of Eagle Pointe Nursing Home died Feb. 9, 2002.

He was born Dec. 11, 1911, in Bens Run, WV, a son of the late John and Pearl Bailey Kidder. He was a brick mason.

He is survived by three sisters, Grace Smith and Della Moellendick, both of Parkersburg, and Betty Shepherd of Chincoteague, VA; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Kidder of St. Marys. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry, and John Kidder; and four sisters, Lena Moody, Mae Alley, Viola Kidder and Mary Rader.

There will be no visitation and private family services will be held 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Lucille Goodrich Kidder
Lucille Goodrich Kidder, 84, of Route 39, St. Marys, died Feb. 25, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 30, 1917, at Georges Run, Jefferson County, OH, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Cornie Leach Goodrich. She formerly was city recorder for the city of St. Marys. She was a member of the St. Marys Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Irene Boop and her husband, Terry of Coolville, Eleanor Poling of St. Marys, Carole McDonald and her husband, Roger of Belmont and Luella Raper and her husband, Jeff of St. Marys; one son, John W. Kidder Jr. and his wife, Jean of St. Marys; 15 grandchildren, Terri Boop McGoye, Cindy Boop Eddy and Susan Boop Knotts, all of Little Hocking, Max Kidder of Berea, KY, Harry D. Kidder of Purcellville, VA, Marsha Kidder Withrow of Milton, WV, James Michael Poling of Clarksburg, Maria Poling Marlow of Little Hocking, Traci Poling Doehring of St. Marys, Lee McDonald of Morgantown, Jenny McDonald of Parkersburg, Eric Raper and Daniel Raper, both of Charleston and Adam and Sara Raper, both of St. Marys; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Betty Sheppard of Chincoteague, VA and Della Mollendick and Grace Smith, both of Parkersburg; one brother-in-law, John Jackson of Jewett, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Bill" Kidder Sr.; one grandson, Kenneth William Boop; two sisters, Audra Briese and Wanda Jackson; and two brothers, John and Leo Goodrich.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys. Rev. Jeff Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasants Memorial Estates of Eureka, WV. Calling hours are from 2-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
