Darrell Stanley Lucas
Darrell Stanley Lucas, 68, of St. Marys died Sept. 22, 2002.

He was born July 27, 1934, in Pleasants County, a son of the late Raymond and Gladys Gorrell Lucas. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Mullins and Claudia Boyle; six grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Moore and Evelyn Peckens; one brother, Kenneth Lucas; and a special friend, Harriett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Gladys Gorrell Lucas; and one brother, Quentin Lucas.

Services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at George Street Church of Christ, St. Marys. Visitation from 7-9 p.m. today at the church.

Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Woodrow W. Malone
Woodrow W. Malone, 89, of Route 1, St. Marys, died May 29, 2002, at the residence of his son, Tim of Route 3, St. Marys. He was born April 24, 1913, in Pleasants County, a son of the late Frank and Millie Cronin Malone. He was retired from Quaker State, he was a Methodist and his hobbies included farming and hunting.

He is survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Maston and Connie West both of St. Marys, and Martha Lou Jacobs of Clarksburg; two sons, David "Jack" Malone and Tim Malone, where he made his home, both of St. Marys; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Schayes of Mingo Junction, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clarice Lawson Malone; two daughters, Barbara Stewart and Judy Kay Shaw; three sons-in-law, Ralph Maston, Junior Shaw and Richard Jacobs; four grandchildren; six sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys with Pastor Randy Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Donald J. Martin
Donald J. Martin, 59, of Belmont, W.Va. died Feb. 23, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.

He was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Sistersville, a son of the late John Richard Martin and Evelyn V. Bowers Martin of Sistersville. He was a pipefitter for Local 565 Plumbers and Steamfitters of Parkersburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and attended the Cornerstone Gospel Church of Vienna. He was also a graduate of Salem College.

In addition to his mother, Evelyn V. Bowers Martin, survivors include his wife, Carol S. Hissom Martin; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Frances Martin of Clarksburg; one daughter, Melinda Hale of Belmont; one granddaughter, Caitlee Hale; one brother, David Martin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four sisters, Margaret Jeffries and Joan Evans, both of Sistersville, Carolyn Mercer of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Pamela Hanna of Wadsworth, Ohio.

In addition to his father, John Richard Martin, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Henry Hale.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, Pastor Mark Wilding officiating. Burial in Friendly Cemetery, Friendly, W.Va., with military graveside services conducted by VFW Post 6327 and American Legion Post 67, both of Sistersville, and American Legion Post 86 of Paden City. Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Eugene Maston
David Eugene Maston, 56, of Corpus Christi, Texas , formerly of St. Marys, died June 12, 2001.

He was the son of Mary M. Maston and the late James V. Maston. Born on June 7, 1945, he worked as a lawn service provider, a custodian and a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his mother; daughter, Misty of Belmont; brother, Michael; and his sister, Candace Lessard of Belpre.

Services were held at Seaside Memorial, June 17, 2001, followed by cremation. Ashes are to remain with his mother.

Harold R. "Buck" Maston
Harold R. 'Buck' Maston, 83, of St. Marys, died Jan. 28, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital of Parkersburg.

He was born Sept. 18, 1918, the son of Griff and Rose Johnson Maston. He attended the St. Mary's Church of the Nazarene. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving at Normandy. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was retired from the American Cyanamid with more than 35 years, and he enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and especially his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Maston; two sons, Gary Maston and his wife, Sandy and Ted Maston and his wife, Barbara, all of St. Marys; one daughter, Vickie McDonough and her husband, Marvin of Staten Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Zack Maston, Scott Maston, Sharri Maston and Branden McDonough; one stepdaughter, Charlene Owens of Boaz, W.Va.; one stepgranddaughter, Billie Jo Uhl of Boaz; three brothers, Herschel Maston and Howard 'Jake' Maston, both of Belmont and Herman Maston of Florida; five sisters, Gaynell Steele of Belmont, Georgia McCurry and Glenora Cronin of Waverly, W.Va., Garnet Henthorn of Marietta and Glenda Mahaney of Parkersburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Hendrickson Maston; and one brother, Hobart Maston.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Marys Church of the Nazarene of St. Marys. Pastor Chuck Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Island Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 79, VFW Post 222 and AMVETS Post 40. Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys and from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Howard Metheny
Howard Matheny, 68, of Waverly, died peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, after a battle with cancer in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 21, 1934, in Pleasants County, the son of the late Robert Howard and Hilda Pearl Kidder Matheny of Pleasants County. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, and received the National Defense Service Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. After 33 years of employment, he retired from Union Insulating/Challenger Electric in 1989. For the past five years, he was employed at St. Marys Correctional Center. He was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church, Torch, Ohio, where he served as a deacon. He was a current member of the American Legion Post 15.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gladys Lucille Matheny; one sister, Roberta Lee McGinnis; one brother, William Allen Matheny of Shawnee Hills OH; four sons, Thomas A. (Penny L.), Ronald D. (Sandra R.), Donald D. (Terri L.), and Robert B. (Denise A.); 10 grandchildren, Joshua A., Tricia L. Matheny Curfman (Ronald Chad), Shawn P., Justin A., Michael J., Kari-Ann, Christina M., Matthew D., Alex A., and Jenna L.; one great-grandchild, Brittany Taylor Curfman.

Aside from his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Anne and Audrey June Matheny; and beloved dog, Thor.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will be in Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, with military rites presented by American Legion Post 15. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

James Roy ‘‘Pappy’’ Matthews
James Roy ‘‘Pappy’’ Matthews, 75, of St. Marys, died May 2, 2001, at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1926, in Gary, Ind., a son of the late George B. and Golda Bridges Matthews. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the World War II. He fought in Okinawa in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Marys, and was retired from Cytec Industries. He enjoyed his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia Laidley Matthews; two children, Becky Adams and her husband, Mark of St. Marys, and Allen Matthews and his wife, Addene of Hartselle, Ala.; six grandchildren, Shannon West, Kaylee Adams and Macic Adams all of St. Marys, and Brenda Matthews, Joshua Matthews and Amanda Matthews all of Hartselle; one great-granddaughter, Mallory Dawson of St. Marys; two brothers, George Lee Matthews of Indianapolis, Ind., and Jess Paul Matthews of Glasglow, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of St. Marys, with Pastor Larry Parker officiating. Calling hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

James McCutcheon
James M. McCutcheon, 77, of St. Marys died Oct. 27, 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Fran McCutcheon; four children, Pasty Snider, Debra Baker and Kathy and Carol McCutcheon; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Marlin McCutcheon.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial in Pleasants Memorial Estates, Eureka with military graveside rites. Visitation from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Charles W. McHenry

Charles W. McHenry, 92, of Route 1, St. Marys, Rock Run Community, W.Va., died Oct. 23, 2001, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital of Parkersburg.

He was born Sept. 24, 1909, in Ritchie County, son of the late Andrew and Dulcie McDonald McHenry. He was a farmer; worked for Republic Steel of Canton, Ohio; was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; and was a member of the senior citizens.

He is survived by two sisters, Lucille Higgins of St. Marys, and Evelyn Kelly of Erie, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Paul, James, David, John, George and Edgar McHenry; and three sisters, Sylvia Lamp, Ruth Cunningham and Edith McHenry.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys, with Eddie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Lane Cemetery of Hebron, W.Va. Calling hours are from 5-9 p.m. today and noon-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jack L. McKinney III
Jack L. McKinney III, 33, of St. Marys, died Feb. 21, 2002.

He is survived by his parents, Jack L. McKinney II and Sarah Myers; his wife, Judith Treadway McKinney; two brothers, Charles McKinney and Donald McKinney; one sister, Marsha Smith; stepfather, Virgil Myers; one stepbrother, Virgil Myers II; and two stepsisters, Pamela Dennis and Sharon Nutter.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys. Burial in St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Visitation 4-9 p.m. Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday.
