Terry Wayne Sheets, Jr.

Terry Wayne Sheets, Jr., three-year-old son of Terry Wayne Sheets, Sr., and Amanda Marie Gragg Sheets, of Marlinton, died November 29, 2000, in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania .

He was born May 30, 1997, at Buckeye.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Randy Mock and Barbara Gragg, of Marlinton, Owen and Karen Gragg, of Marlinton; paternal grandparents, Margaret Sheets, Sam and Mary Sheets, all of Marlinton; maternal great-grandfather, Woodrow Ray, of Marlinton; paternal great-grandmothers, Eve Galford and Faye Sheets, both of Marlinton.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at VanReenen Funeral Home by the Rev. Norman Lee Alderman. Burial was in Clawson Cemetery.

Georgia L. Cooper

Georgia L. Cooper, age 99, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, December 2, 2000, at Meadow View Manor, Bridgeport.

She was born at Hillsboro July 22, 1901, the daughter of the late George E. and Lena Kennison Moore.

Her husband, Berlin Cooper, died in 1979. Also preceding her in death were a son, Clyde Cooper; two sisters, Ola Moore and Elaine Arbaugh; and three brothers, Boyd Moore and Okey Moore and an in-fant.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by two daughters, Uva Coffman, of Delphi, Indiana, and Myrtle O'Dell, of Dunbar; two sons, Lewis H. Cooper, of Buckhannon, and James Cooper, of Delphi, Indiana; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was a Methodist.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at VanReenen Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jack Burks, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Ezra Bennett

Ezra Bennett, age 86, of Ravenna, Ohio, formerly of Bartow, died Friday, December 1, 2000, at Long Meadow Care Center in Ravenna.

Mr. Bennett was retired from the fence rail mill at Bartow.

He was born August 20, 1914, on Allegheny Mountain, the son of the late Jackie and Ellie Mae Lambert Bennett.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Mona Simmons, and four brothers, Lester, Raymond, Elmer, and Roscoe Bennett.

Surviving him are two sisters, Florine Warner, of Elkins, and Sally Tingler, of Mount Rose.

Graveside services were held Monday at 4 p. m. at Lambert Cemetery on Allegheny Mountain by the Rev. William Vandevender.

Nancy Kay Williams

Nancy Kay Williams, age 56, of Salem, died Saturday, December 2, 2000, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.

She was born in Bristol August 22, 1944, a daughter of Wilma Pearl Grubb Adams, of Salem, and the late Worthy Bernard Adams.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, I. James McComb Williams, whom she married April 15, 1967, and one daughter, Tiffin Dawn Bland.

Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Salem College and a former English teacher in Pennsboro. She, along with her husband, owned and promoted antique shows across the United States; she also owned and operated Nan's Cards at Meadowbrook Mall and was currently a trainer for Infocision Management of Clarksburg. She was a Metho-dist.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at the Harbert Funeral Home in Salem by the Rev. Lester Stinebiser. Burial was in the K of P Memorial Park at Salem.

George F. Brewster

George F. Brewster, age 56, of Lansdale, Pennsylvania , died November 17, 2000, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, Pennsylvania , following an illness of several months.

He was the husband of Beverly J. Burner Brewster and they had observed their 35th wedding anniversary in August.

Mr. Brewster was born in Durbin, a son of the late Andrew and Emma Arbogast Brewster.

He was employed for 32 years by Lehigh Valley Dairies, Lansdale.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Barry A. Brewster, at home; a daughter, Laura M. Palermo, of Harleysville, and a grandson. Also surviving are three brothers and nine sisters.

A brother preceded him in death.

Services were held Tuesday, November 21, in the Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, with burial in Sellersville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 700 N. Main Street, Sellersville, Pennsylvania 18962.

Esther Clendenen Wilmoth

Esther Clendenen Wilmoth, age 89, of Los Alamos, New Mexico, died Monday, October 23, 2000, at the Los Alamos Medical Center. She was born November 12, 1910, in Hillsboro, a daughter of the late George W. Clendenen, Sr. and Ivy Bruffy Clendenen.

Prior to retirement, she worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and prior to that, she was an operating room nurse at the Los Alamos Medical Center. She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a Second Lieutenant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Beltron J. Wilmoth, a brother, Daryll Clendenen, and a sister, Ida LaRue.

She is survived by a brother, George W. Clendenen, Jr., of Hunker, Pennsylvania .

Memorials may be made in Esther's name to the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87544.

George W. Clendenen, Jr.

George W. Clendenen, Jr., age 82, of Hunker, Pennsylvania , died Friday, November 17, 2000, at his residence.

He was born October 11, 1918, in Hillsboro, a son of the late George W. Clendenen, Sr., and Ivy Bruffy Clendenen.

He attended the Armbrust Wesleyan Church.

Prior to retirement he was a crane operator for Eidemiller Enterprises. George was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Operating Engineers Local 66.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daryll Clendenen, and two sisters, Ida LaRue and Esther Wilmoth.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Cutlip Clendenen; a daughter, Sue Gongaware, of Latrobe, Pennsylvania ; and one granddaughter.

Entombment was in the St. Clair Cemetery Mausoleum, Greensburg, Pennsylvania , with military rites accorded by the Armbrust Veterans Association.

Memorials may be made in George's name to the Armbrust Wesleyan Church, Armbrust, Pennsylvania , 15616, or the Westmoreland Hospice, Greensburg, Pennsylvania , 15601.

James B. Vaughan

James B. Vaughan, 78, of Sacramento, California, died on January 15, 2001.

He was born on November 2, 1922, in Marlinton to James Herbert and Cathleen Vaughan.

Mr. Vaughan attended Columbia University and served in the U. S. Army in Central Europe during the war. Following rehabilitation from a severe wound, he went with the occupation forces to Japan as an Air Force civil service employee. He was in Japan for 20 years and ended his civil service career at McClellan AFB in Sacramento in 1971.

He then went to work for Lockheed Aircraft International as their General Manager in Saudi Arabia, returning to Sacramento upon retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Fumie; one son, Patrick Vaughan, of Evans, Georgia; one daughter, Susan Hoffmier, of Auburn, Georgia; a brother, H. Jack Vaughan, of Harrisonburg, Vir-ginia; and four grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be held on February 11, 1 to 4 p.m., at the Nepenthe Club House, Campus Commons, 1131 Commons Drive, Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Charles C. Burner

Charles C. Burner, age 78, of Bloomington, Indiana, died on January 15, 2001, at the Meadowood Health Pavilion.

He was born on May 14, 1922, at Cass, the son of Elmer Davis and Mary Gillispie Burner.

Mr. Burner graduated from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas, in May 1946 and completed his graduate work at the University of Missouri Fisheries Research Unit and Pittsburg State University. He worked for the Kansas Forestry, Fish and Game Commission for 11 years and as a fish and wildlife biologist for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 28 years.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U. S. Army Signal Corps in the continental United States and southwest Pacific theaters. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Nancy Deskins, of Nineveh, Indiana, and Susan Shively, of Flora, Indiana; three sons, Charles Burner, Jr., of Houston, Texas , Bob Burner and Kenneth Burner, both of Bloomington; two brothers, Clarence Burner, of Waycross, Georgia, and Davis Burner, of Jacksonville, Florida; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Virginia Burner, Eloise Collins, and Mary Leemis; and three brothers, Paul, George, and Alpheus.

Memorial services were held at the First United Methodist Church on January 18 with the Rev. Howard Boles officiating.

Memorial contributions may made to Africa University, c/o First United Methodist Church.
