William Richard "Dick" Perry, age 67, of Rittman, Ohio, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at Akron General Medical Center.
He was born on October 20, 1939, in Cass, to Walter and Mary Chestnut Perry and was employed at Valley View Towing in Wadsworth, Ohio, for 31 years.
He was a 1957 graduate of Rittman High School and a member of the Chariot Car Club. He was a former coach and director of the Browns Team in the Wadsworth Youth Football League and was current assistant commissioner of the league.
Surviving are his wife, A. Jane Braum Perry; sons, Erie Perry and wife Lori, of Rittman, and William and wife Elizabeth, also of Rittman; step-daughter, Mia Braun, of Springboro, Pennsylvania ; brother, Eugene Perry and wife, Sue, of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Noah, Cameron, Gabriel, Luke, and Elijah Perry; niece, Claudia Krinov, of Wadsworth; great-nieces, Kelli and Kate Lyn Krinov. His body was cremated and private graveside service was held at Rittman Cemetery.

Johnny Abraham Ramsey
Johnny Abraham Ramsey, age 78, of Raeford, North Carolina, died Monday, June 11, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in North Carolina.
Mr. Ramsey was a retired SFC of the United States Army. He was a veteran of the
Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Dolores Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Betty, of Raeford; sons, Bill Ramsey and wife, Karen, of Chester, Virginia, David Ramsey and wife, Tommie, of Rosewell, Georgia, Bob Ramsey, of Rosewell, Eddie Ramsey and wife, Suzanne, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Kenny Ramsey, of Raeford; daughter, Teresa Cotter, and husband, Tim, of Greensboro, North Carolina; one stepson, Tim Silva, and wife, Gabriela, of San Diego, California; sister, Billie Lee Quigley, of Newport News, Virginia; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held Thursday at Lafayette Memorial Prak.

Floyd Franklin Davis, Sr., age 97, of Marlinton, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.
Floyd was a farmer and night watchman for the International Shoe Company Tannery.
He was born March 16, 1910, at Marlinton, the son of the late Robert Davis and the late Lucy Beverage Davis.
In addition to his parents, his wives, Hazel Frances Davis and Beulah Davis, daughter, Oleta Payne, sister, Blanche Waugh, and brothers, Lawrence, Page, Leo, Carl and Clarence Davis, Sr., preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son Floyd F. Davis, Jr., of Marlinton, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held at VanReenen Funeral Home Monday morning with Clarence Davis, Jr., officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton.
Bennie Queen
Bennie Queen, age 63, of Cass, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Born June 14, 1944, at Cass, he was a son of the late Lee and Juanita Alice Smith Queen.
Bennie was a retired logger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Key, and a brother, William Queen.
Mr. Queen is survived by his wife, Shirley Cain Queen; a son, Douglas Lee Queen, of Stony Bottom; six brothers, Charles Queen, of Bartow, Bob Queen, of Cass, Danny Queen and Teddy Queen, both of Durbin, Tommy Queen, of Marlinton, and Eddie Queen, of Boyer.
Funeral service was held Friday afternoon at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale, with burial in Stony Bottom Cemetery.

Sarah "Mildred" Fertig
Sarah "Mildred" Fertig, age 89, of White Sulphur Springs, died Monday, June 18, 2007, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center after an extended illness.
She was born August 15, 1917, in Neola, a daughter of the late Elisha Beuring and Estella Eunice Foster Fertig.
Ms. Fertig was of the Methodist faith. She had been a night auditor at the Daniel Boone Hotel in Charleston and also worked at the Alvon Hotel in White Sulphur Springs.
Preceding her in death other than her father and mother were a sister, Mary Trainer, and a brother, James Fertig. She was also preceded in death by a special friend, Clate Brackman.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Fertig, of White Sulphur Springs, a niece, Carolyn Culver, and her husband, Danny of Bluefield; six nephews, Frank Trainer, and his wife, Carolyn, of Neola, Mack Trainer, and his wife, Debbie, of Marlinton, Bill Fertig and his wife, Linda, of Lewisburg, Marshall Trainer and his wife, Betty, of Buena Vista, Virginia, Jim Trainer, of Neola, and Bruce Trainer and his wife, Clarissa, of Marlinton. Also surviving are six great-nieces and three great nephews.
Service was held Thursday in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Brent Sturn, O.S.L., officiating.
Burial was in the Mapledale Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.
Fred Peery
Fred Peery, age 63, of Blacksburg, Virginia, died Monday, June 18, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Hot Springs, Virginia, on May 12, 1944, to the late Ralph Stuart, Sr., and Hester Anderson Peery.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Leonard Peery.
Fred was the manager of Sub Station II, in Blacksburg, for 22 years.
He is survived by his son, Stuart Duncan Peery Jamison, of Lynchburg; sister and brother-in-law, Linda P. and Lynn Grimes, of Dunmore; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph Stuart, Jr., and Wanda Peery, of Hot Springs, Virginia; grandchild, Sterling Jamison, of Roanoke, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Hazel M. Cumbee, of Pembroke, Virginia.
Fred's wishes were to be cremated with no services.
David Lewis Jackson
David Lewis Jackson, age 53, of Elyria, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Louis Stokes, VA Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, following a long illness.
He was born in Marlinton August 26, 1953, and lived in Elyria most of his life.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Survivors include sons David and Greg Jackson, of Elyria, and Mike Adams, of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Teresa Snowden, of Lorain, Ohio; his parents, Dennis and Dorothy Jackson, of Elyria; brothers, Danny, of Vermillion, Ohio, Douglas, of Marlinton, and Donald, of South Amherst, Ohio; and two granddaughters.
He was a grandson of the late William and Susie Rogers, of Buckeye, and the late Dennis and Mary Jackson, of Huntersvillle.

Margie Marie Sharp
Margie Marie Foster Sharp, age 78, of Frost, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital.
Margie was a homemaker and was a member of the Frost United Methodist Church and the Frost Volunteer Fire Department.
Born at Mill Gap, Virginia, on July 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Lockridge Foster and the late Elizabeth Mae Crummett Foster.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Gayle Whitline "Pete" Sharp, a sister, Mary E. Foster, and brothers, Ernest, William, Robert Foster and infant twin brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, David L. Taylor, of Frost; one sister, Betty Rorke, of Buchannan, Virginia; one brother, James D. Foster, of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was at the Frost United Methodist Church Saturday, August 4, with the Rev. Robert "Bob" Shields and the Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating.

William Henry Currence
William Henry "Bill" Currence, age 73, of Durbin, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at his home in Durbin.
Born October 23, 1933, at Beckys Creek, he was the son of the late Jonathan and Ethel Taylor Currence.
He was a laborer for the Town of Durbin and a logger for Bennett Logging. Well known as a musician, he played in several bands that led him to play at the State Fair of West Virginia and also with Woody Simmons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Currence, January 20, 2007; two sons, Dickie Currence and Donald Currence; a granddaughter, Rebecca Beth Wimer; sisters, Uneda Swecker, Virginia Howard, May Ann Langdon; brothers, Charles, Arlie, Mac, Howard, Baty Ray, Woody, and Marlie.
Mr. Currence is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Lantz, of Caldwell, and Debbie Colaw, of Durbin; five sons, Michael Cromer, of Green Bank, William Currence, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Jonathan Currence, of Fredricksburg, Maryland, Jerry Currence, of Mayesville, and Douglas Currence, of Durbin; two sisters, Lena Mae Seabolt, of Durbin, and Edna Martin, of Augusta; one brother, David Currence, of Mill Creek; fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Saturday, August 4. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale by the Rev. Donnie Curry, with burial in the Gum Cemetery, Durbin.
