Dwayne King, 41, of Poca died September 28, 2004, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was a lifelong resident of Poca and was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his father, George E. King.
Surviving: son, Josh King of Hometown; mother, Ruth Wilkinson King of Poca; brother and his wife, Steve and Tammy King of Red House; sister, Kathie King of Poca.
Service was held Friday, October 1, 2004, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca, with Father Bill Petro officiating. Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Florence Mae Thornton Casto, 78, of Liberty died Sunday, November 14, 2004. She was born March 2, 1926 in Jackson County and was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Casto. Surviving: sons and their wives, Dempsey and Kathy Casto of Liberty, Danny and Diana Casto of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Brian Casto, Eric Casto, Amanda Casto Kennedy, Christopher Casto, and Justin Casto; great-grandchildren, Nathan Casto, Abigail Casto, Atley Casto, and Courtney Casto. Service was held Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at Mount Zion Church, Given, with Pastor Leroy Meadows and Alvie Witt officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Noble R. Wilkinson
Noble Reese Wilkinson, 78, of Pliny died November 14, 2004, at home after a long illness.
He retired from Union Carbide Corporation in 1982 with 32 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a 46-year resident of Pliny. He was a member and elder of Pliny Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson and Susan Tate Wilkinson.
Surviving: his wife of 50 years, Wanda L. Wilkinson; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Jenny Wilkinson of Pliny, Rod and Yvonne Wilkinson of Virginia; sisters, Lora Older of Florida and Catherine Lovejoy of Charleston; brother, Tom Wilkinson of Sissonville; granddaughter, Erin Wilkinson of Hurricane.

Audrey June Mullins, 82, of Scott Depot died Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at home.
She was a homemaker.

She was a 1988 graduate of Nitro High School.

He wasa a truck driver for Reiss Viking.

Geneva M. Schell
Geneva M. Schell, 70, of Scott Depot died November 15, 2004, at home.
She was born May 31, 1934 to the late Brooks Crawford Layman and Iris Wilma Shultz Layman. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Memel, Carolyn Holiday, Margaret Layman, Marjorie Layman, and JoAnne Layman.
She was a board certified medical surgical nurse. She received her B.S. degree in nursing from West Virginia University in 1987.
Surviving: daughters, Greta Schell and Becky Strothers, both of Houston, Texas ; grandchildren, Josh, David, Matthew, Sarah Strothers, Dominic, Daniel, Pagliuso, and Alyssa Rodriquez; sisters, Dorothy Wells and Linda Nedeff; brothers, James Layman and Brooks Layman; several nieces and nephews.

James L. Sizemore
James L. Sizemore, 79, of Hurricane died Monday, November 15, 2004, at his residence.
He was retired from Black Rock Construction, Charleston, with 30 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He was a 50-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 and a member of the VFW Post in Hurricane and the Moose Lodge. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS North Carolina in the South Pacific.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Margaret Vinson Sizemore, his parents, James Oscar Sr. and Birdie Woodard Sizemore; stepmother, Leaettia Sizemore, and brothers, Norman, William, Charles Eddie, Freddie and James Oscar Sizemore Jr.
Surviving: children, Shelia Boyer and her husband, James, Lois Hughes and husband, Roy, and James E. John H. Reed
John H. Reed, 85, of Hurricane died November 16, 2004, at home.
He was born October 25, 1919 in Craddock, Virginia, the son of the late John H. Reed and Nell Gray Reed of South Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lottie Miller Reed, and his youngest sister, Jo Ann Baker.
He was a lifelong resident of South Charleston and Hurricane. He graduated from South Charleston High School and West Virginia Tech, where he played football and basketball.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as an officer in the 40th Combat Engineer Regiment in World War II from North Africa through Salzburg, Germany, including the invasions of Sicily, Italy and Southern France. He continued his military career in the Army Reserve, retiring in 1970 as a Lt. Colonel and Commander of the 38th Ordnance Group.
Upon receiving his LLB degree from Washington and Lee University College of Law in 1949, he began a 50-year career of practicing law in South Charleston and later in Hurricane. He also was a professor at Morris Harvey College and was also counsel to the West Virginia Turnpike Commission during the construction. In 1958, he became the first elected municipal judge for the City of South Charleston. He was a Republican nominee for the House of Delegates in Kanawha County twice in the early 50s.
He was a member of the West Virginia State Bar, Virginia State Bar, West Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, which he served as parliamentarian, and the Putnam County Bar Association. He was also past president of the Spring Hill Civitan Club.
Surviving: daughter, Donna L. Turner and husband, James, of South Charleston; sons, John H. Reed III and wife, Joan Ann, of Hurricane and Ellis M. Reed and wife, Lisa Parks, of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, David T. Turner, Joanna E. Reed, Leah A. Reed, Jeffrey M. Reed and Ellisa R. Reed; one great-granddaughter; brother, Malcolm E. Reed of Laguna Hills, California; sister, Dorothy LaCascio of Tucson, Arizona.
Service was held Saturday, November 20, 2004, at St. John United Methodist Church, South Charleston. Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston, was in charge of arrangements.
