Mrs. Ida Jemison Smith, 81, of Middlebourne, died Friday at the Sistersville General Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born Oct. 8, 1876 at Gorrell's Run, Tyler County, a daughter of Francis and Margaret Swann Jemison. She was a member of the Middlebourne Baptist Church and of the Baptist Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin A. Smith who died in 1929, and also by six brothers and one sister. Survivors include two sons, Clarence F. Smith of Follansbee, and Armstrong Smith of Canton, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie S. Brennan of Sistersville, and Mrs. Ruth Smith of Middlebourne; five grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. T.E. Watson of Middlebourne and Mrs. Charles R. Smith of Akron, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Sawyer Funeral Home in Middlebourne by the Rev. Ray Bartlett, assisted by the Rev. W.E. Davies of Sistersville. Burial will be in the Beechwood cemetery at Alma. The body will remain at the funeral home, where friends may call until time for the services.

Watson, Bobbie O., 71, of South Wells St. Sistersville, died Feb. 8, 1998 in Sistersville General Hospital. She was retired from Sistersville General Hospital and was a member of the First Christian Church, Sistersville. She was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Ettie Johnson Drake; her husband John Perry Watson; two brothers and one sister. Surviving are two daughters Patricia Watson Rizzo of Raleigh, N.C.; Iretta Frame of Mineral City, Ohio; two brothers, Warren Drake of Newton Falls, Ohio and Ernest Drake of Portersville, Pa; three sisters, Dorcas Strawn of Cameron, WV, Ruth Kitelinger of Poland, Ohio; and Mildred Dohner of Creston, Ohio and a dear friend Jody Simmons of Raleight, N.C., two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends were received Tuesday from 6 to 8 at her home on 210 South Wells St. Sistersville. Harvey Williamson, 81 years, 11 months and 5 days old, died Sunday at 12:00 o'clock at his home at 231 Clay Street, Sistersville. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hannah Rinard Williamson, one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Zinn, of Sistersville; a grandson, Allen Zinn of Sistersville; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Herlacker of Paden City. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at his late home in charge of Rev. P.H. McKain and Rev. D.I. Davis of Sistersville. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville, was in charge of the Iams Funeral Service. Mr. Williamson had been a member of Middlbourne Lodge A.F. & A.M. for sixty years. Sept. 1942
James Edward Williamson, aged 26 years, died Monday morning at 2:00 o'clock in the Sistersville General Hospital. Mr. Williamson was a resident of Klondyke Ave. and had been ill for only a few days having been admitted to the hospital Sunday evening. He was born December 21, 1916 at Waverly, WV. His parents preceded him in death a number of years ago. He was united in marriage March 3, 1936 to Miss Helen Virginia Kemp at Sistersville, and to this union two children were born. James Edward Jr., age 6, and William Jr., age two years. Mr. Williamson had been employed the past several months at the Sistersville Refining Co., station across from the Hotel Wells. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Christian Church with Rev. L.E. Groseclose officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Sistersville. 1943

Mrs. Rose Ann Wood, 78, of Sistersville passed away Aug. 5, 1937. She was born June 28, 1859, a daughter of William and Mary Hill. She married James Levi Wood, May 25, 1876 who preceded her in death in 1918. Surviving are one son, George Wood, 2 daughters, Mrs. Lulu Tallman and Miss Christey Wood, one brother, William Hill and 4 sisters, Mrs. Charles Hassig, Mrs. John Eddy, Mrs. Esther Stealy and Mrs. Warren Palmer, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Services were held at her home and interment made in Lazure Chapel Cemetery.
