CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - James Francis Berry, 71, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Dec. 7, 1926, in Charles Town, he was the son of the late John Henry and Odetta Virginia Johnson Berry.
He attended Eagle Avenue School, Charles Town; was a graduate of St. Pauls Polytechnic Institute, Lawrenceville, Va.; and Whitman School of Interior Design, New York City. He also attended Management School, Washington, D.C.
He retired after 19 years with Stouffer's Inc., Crystal City, Va. Previously, he had been resident manager of Wingate Apartments and assistant manager of Watergate Residual Complex, both in Washington, D.C. He also owned and operated a souvenir shop in Washington, D.C.; and an export-import business in New York City.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed by the U.S. Merchant Marine for troop transport.
He was a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, Charles Town.
He is survived by two sisters, Joan Funn and Dolores B. Duncan, both of Alexandria, Va.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Zada Berry; and one brother, John Edward Berry.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Philips Episcopal Church, South Lawrence Street, Charles Town. The Rev. Jane Kempster will officiate. Burial will be in Johnsontown cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kenneth L. DeHaven
ORLANDO, Fla. - Kenneth L. DeHaven, 73, of 908 Mayfair Circle, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Veterans Hospital in Tampa, Fla.
Born in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Luther M. and Virgie McCoy DeHaven.
He moved to Central Florida in 1950.
He was employed by the Secretary Religious Organization.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a former Sunday school teacher and church financial officer.
He also was a member of Paralyzed Veterans Association.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice DeHaven; one daughter, Norie DeHaven of Orlando; one son, Paul DeHaven of Panama City, Fla.; one sister, Laura Mae Dunn of Annandale, Va.; one brother, Belmont B. DeHaven of Imperial Valley, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Arrangements were by Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, Orlando.
Phyllis M. Ocheltree
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Phyllis Maxine Ocheltree, 76, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Jan. 30, 1922, in Beckley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Maggie Mae Fritz Robertson.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Ocheltree; one daughter, Vicki Reese at home; nine sisters; four brothers; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. David G. Mehalko will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Terry M. Cloud
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Terry Martin Cloud, 50, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born May 17, 1947, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Tyson B. Cloud of Martinsburg and the late Kathleen M. Johnson Cloud.
He was employed by MS Carriers.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Jerry Mills Cloud; three daughters, Kathleen May Walker of Florida, Pam Firestone of York, Pa., and Tina Henson of Williamsport; three sons, Mark Shifflett of Hedgesville, W.Va., David Shifflett of York and Michael Shifflett of Glengary, W.Va.; one sister, Kathy Cloud of Martinsburg; one brother, Roger Cloud of Orlando, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Cloud.
Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - H. Columbia Lattea, 96, formerly of Martinsburg, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at Canterbury of Shepherdstown.
Born Jan. 14, 1902, in Calhoun County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Slider Lattea.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by one sister, Mae Starcher of Grantsville, W.Va.; nieces and nephews, including Betty Brooks, with whom she resided.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Hendershot, Jane Rohr and Belle Mace; and three brothers, Cleo Lattea, Clyde Lattea and Homer Lattea.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Charles Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn cemetery, Rockville, Md.
The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Mary Catherine Carroll Boyer, 57, of Bunker Hill, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born May 8, 1940, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Esther "Essie" Carroll Turner Kilmer.
She was a 1958 graduate of Charles Town High School.
She retired from Corning Glass and last worked as a cashier at Food Lion, Inwood, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, C.T. "Sonny" Boyer; one daughter, Tracy Michelle Boyer, at home; and aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dolores Baluck Stenack; one daughter, Nancy Bailey of Shepherdstown; one son, Robert Stenack of Shepherdstown; one brother, Francis Stenack of Lehighton, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Robert Linwood Dunham Sr., 77, of Berkeley Springs, who died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, also is survived by a son, Phillip Leehan Stotler of Berkeley Springs.
Jessie E. Harden
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Jessie Elizabeth Harden, 85, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at the home of her caregiver, Evelyn L. Harden.
Born June 12, 1912, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Emory and Lillie Edna Cain Harden.
She attended New Hope School, Morgan County, W.Va.
She worked in local canning factories. She had been a homemaker in recent years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs.
She was an active participant with Morgan County Senior Life Services, Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by three nieces, Tresa Ann Goodman of Thurmont, Md., Mary Ellen Harden and April Naomi Harden, both of Berkeley Springs; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Maiden; and two brothers, Robert Paul Harden and Dorse James Harden.
Services will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Henry L. Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Harden Family cemetery, New Hope, W.Va.

David T. McCarty
INWOOD, W.Va. - David T. McCarty, 79, of Inwood, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born June 1, 1918, in Frederick County, Va., he was the son of the late Charles T. and Alice Barbour McCarty.
He was a retired auto mechanic.
He was a member of Inwood United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Prettyman McCarty; one daughter, Sandra May of Inwood; one son, Charles H. McCarty of Barboursville, Va.; one brother, Hugh McCarty of Winchester, Va.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elsie Kremer, Catherine Unger and Jessie Brown; and two brothers, Ralph McCarty and Wayne McCarty.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gerrardstown Presbyterian cemetery. The Rev. John E. Wright will officiate.
