Vincent C. Dusing

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Vincent C. Dusing, 73, of Shepherdstown, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born April 26, 1924, in Shepherdstown, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Florence Burgan Dusing.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Isabelle Shackelford Dusing.

He retired from Reed Industries, Hagerstown.

A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by three sons, John Shackelford and Wilbur Dusing, both of Shepherdstown, and Robert Dusing of Inwood, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Glenwood Dusing.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown. The Rev. Jerry Carpenter will officiate.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.

Memorial donations may be made to Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box F, Shepherdstown, W.Va. 25443; or Salvation Army, 505 Virginia Ave., Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401.

B. Bruce Minghini

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - B. Bruce Minghini, 84, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 7, 1913, in Jones Spring, W.Va., he was the son of the late S. Lee and Blanche L. James Minghini.

He was a 1930 graduate of Martinsburg High School, and a graduate of Martinsburg Business College.

He retired as owner and operator of S.L. Minghini and Son Construction after more than 40 years.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II in the European Theater.

He was a member of Equality Lodge 44, AF&AM; Royal Arch Masons; Lebanon Chapter 2; Knights Templar; Palestine Commandery 2; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry S.S. USA; Osiris Temple AAONMS of Wheeling, W.Va.; Shenandoah Forest 150, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Golden Rule Chapter 69, Order of Eastern Star; a life member of Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW; and a member of BPO Elks.

He was a board member emeritus of Farmers and Mechanics Mutual Insurance Co. of West Virginia; and a member of Panhandle Eating Club.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Coe Minghini at home; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Walter F. Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery with masonic graveside services by Equality Lodge 44 AF&AM.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Master Masons will meet Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Harry E. Bender Jr.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Harry E. Bender Jr., 65, of Shepherdstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at his home.

Born July 28, 1932, in Baltimore, he was the son of Harry E. and Miriam Fitchett Bender Sr. of Baltimore.

He retired as founder and owner of HEB Equipment Co. at State Line, Pa.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, Hagerstown.

He was a member of Hagerstown Moose Club; and ABC Association.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Janet Blackwell Bender; one daughter, Susan L. Bender of Hagerstown; two sons, Harry E. Bender III of Shepherdstown and Trace A. Bender of Hagerstown; one sister, Ellen Boqucki of Springfield, Va.; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Shepherdstown. The Rev. G.T. Schramm will officiate. The family will receive friends at his home in Shepherdstown following the service.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. at Paramount Baptist Church, Hagerstown. Dr. Larry Rickard and the Rev. Don R. Stephenson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church following the services.

Burial will be private.

Linda L. See

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Linda Lee See, 48, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.

Born July 17, 1949, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George and D. Virginia Kenny Duvall.

She is survived by her husband, Garland A. See Sr.; one son, Garland A. See Jr. at home; two sisters, Ruth Ann Magruder of Mifflinburg, Pa., and Sharon Bryant of Martinsburg; and one brother, George Duvall of Inwood, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jason See.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. W. Wayne Rimmer and the Rev. Malcolm Ames will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Zenzia C. Moore

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Zenzia Catherine Moore, 88, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.

Born Nov. 27, 1909, in Clarke County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Clarke Bageant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sampson Moore, in 1971. They were married Oct. 13, 1926.

She attended Mount Wesley School, Morgan County, W.Va.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Spohrs Crossroads, W.Va.

She was a homemaker. She was a sales representative for Avon products for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

She was a member of AARP.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Marie Crouse and Lucille DeHaven, both of Berkeley Springs; two sons, Delmar Moore Sr. of Berkeley Springs and Clifford L. Moore of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Naomi Miller and Myra Miller, both of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Edward Bageant Jr. of Connellsville, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Sam Moore Jr.; three sisters, Dorothy Butts, Hazel Bageant and Hilda Shear; and two brothers, Paul Bageant and Ray Bageant.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Hennis H. Fox and Pastor Wayne Frum will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

V. Helen Grimm

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - V. Helen Grimm, 80, of Martinsburg, and formerly of Clarksburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 23, 1917, in Wallace, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late A. Gail and Vera Amelia Piggott Post.

She was a retired bookkeeper for the former Logues Jewelers in Clarksburg.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was a member of Bridge Club, Clarksburg.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann Powell of Martinsburg; one son, Lewis Gail Grimm of Herndon, Va.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Amos Gail Post.

Services will be Saturday at noon at Davis-Weaver Funeral Home in Clarksburg, W.Va. The Rev. David L. Hulme of Clarksburg Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Robinson Family cemetery, Wallace.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 116 E. King St., Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401.

William L. Jackson

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - William Lee "Bill" Jackson, 75, of Shepherdstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at his home.

Born May 16, 1922, in Drill, Va., he was the son of the late Arch and Lucinda Sloan Jackson.

He retired after 23 years as a machinist at the Norfolk (Va.) Naval Shipyard and the U.S. Coast Guard.

A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army in Africa, Sicily, Italy and Anzio. He received the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts and Combat Infantry Badge.

He was a member of Charles Town Baptist Church.

He was a member of VFW Post, LaFayette, La.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edna J. Schultz Jackson; one daughter, Joan Jackson Conway of Shepherdstown; two sons, Donald Jackson and Dennis Jackson, both of Shepherdstown; four sisters, Mattie Plaster of Swords Creek, Va., Edith Whited and Draper Boyd, both of Portsmouth, Va., and Dorothy Dye of Cedar Bluff, Va.; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Jackson; and two brothers, Paul Jackson and John Jackson.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Charles Town Baptist Church, Charles Town, W.Va. Dr. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill cemetery, Charles Town.

Friends will be received today and Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the residence, 800 Flowing Springs Road, Shepherdstown.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.

Vetta C. Stubbs

RANSON, W.Va. - Vetta Clarise Stubbs, 45, of Ranson, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.

Born June 8, 1952, in Charles Town, W.Va., she was the daughter of Frank Yates of Charles Town and Hazel Brown Hart of Charles Town.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Clarence H. Stubbs Jr.; her stepfather, Francis Hart of Charles Town; two daughters, Kasandra Thornton of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Doris Smith at home; one son, Terrell Thornton at home; three sisters, Dorothy Brown of Martinsburg, Anna Brown and Augustine Strother, both of Charles Town; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Augustus Thornton.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at House of Prayer Church of God 4. Bishop Walter Newman will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town.
