MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Quinten W. Schell, 76, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998, at Martinsburg Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.
Born Dec. 15, 1921, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Nora Keller Schell.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II.
He retired from '76 Truck Stop.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Byers Schell; and two brothers, Paul Schell and William Schell.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Schell.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Lloyd Houpt will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, with military services conducted by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW; and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wanda M. Widmyer
Terra Alta, W.Va. - Wanda Marea Crawford Widmyer, 73, of Terra Alta, and formerly of Charles Town, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, W.Va.
Born Dec. 28, 1924, in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Fannie Jane Shaffer Crawford.
She was a 1943 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Charles Town.
She is survived by one daughter, Susan J. Smoot of Winchester, Va.; one son, Leslie C. Widmyer of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Dorothy J. Saunders of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Lucille K. Price of Stonewood, W.Va.; one brother, Kenneth V. Crawford of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel F. Kidwell.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Stephen J. Cuff will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon cemetery, Great Cacapon, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open today from noon to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.

Ruth P. Branson
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Ruth P. Branson, 61, of Shepherdstown, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 22, 1936, in Shepherdstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Sarah Washington Creamer.
In previous years, she worked for City Hospital as a nursing assistant.
She was a member of St. John Baptist Church, Shepherdstown.
She is survived by her husband, Lucien Branson; one daughter, Jacquelyn Branson of Martinsburg; one sister, Hazel Washington of Shepherdstown; two grandchildren; one uncle; one aunt; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, 2060 Rosedale cemetery Road, Martinsburg. The Rev. Joe Liles and the Rev. Charles Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends may call at the home of Hazel Washington in Shepherdstown.
On Tuesday family and friends may meet at the home of Jacquelyn Branson before the funeral.
David E. Dodd
JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - David Edward Dodd, 58, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C., after a long battle with leukemia.
Born Dec. 31, 1939, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of Ethel Hebb of Falling Waters, W.Va. and the late James Dodd.
He was the former executive director of Sea Oates, Inc. for mentally handicapped adults and present executive director for North Carolina Pest Control Association until his death.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Eileen Dodd; three daughters, Cathy Jackson of Emerald Isle, N.C., Cheryl Dodd of Jacksonville and Mickie Foy of Clayton, N.C.; one son, James Dodd of Jacksonville; three sisters, Becky Pflaum of Murrysville, Pa., Libby Burgan of Boonsboro and Bonnie Shirk of Maryland; one grandson; and one granddaughter.
Graveside services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Coastal Carolina State Veterans cemetery, with military honors. The Rev. Ray Broadwell will officiate.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville, with FRA, DAV and Loyal Order of the Moose service starting at 7:30 p.m.

William N. Grant
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - William N. Grant, 66, of Falling Waters, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 15, 1931, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late J. Neill and Mary Pauline VanMetre Grant.
He was a 1949 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was an active member for more than 50 years, serving as an usher; a past member of the Board of Trustees; and a member of Golden Rule Men's Bible Class.
He is survived by his wife, F. Marlene Tabler Grant; one daughter, Deborah Rae Bond of Falling Waters; two sons, William K. Grant of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Daniel D. Grant of Falling Waters; one sister, Mable "Polly" Roach of Flagler Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Carroll V. Grant.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Dr. G. Edward Grove will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Chynna Lashelle Hughes, infant daughter of Jeron Hughes and Amber Beth Williams of Shepherdstown, died Friday, Jan. 30, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Edward and Linda Gail Williams of Shepherdstown; paternal grandparents, George and Geraldine Morris of Kearneysville, W.Va.; maternal great-grandparent, Hugh Payne Strother of Shepherdstown; paternal great-grandparents, Jessie Hughes of Leesburg, Va., Pauline Corum of Reston, Va., Madeline Morris of Purceville, Va. and Mary Bunny of Charles Town, W.Va.; two aunts; and one uncle.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Rose and Edward Oliver Williams, Agnes Wilson, Betty Idella Strother and Edmond and Lena Carey; and one uncle, Joseph Williams.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, W.Va. The Rev. Ernest Lyles will officiate.

Pauline V. Edwards
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Pauline Virginia Thompson Butler Edwards, 67, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at City Hospital.
Born Sept. 7, 1930, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Catherine J. Johnson Thompson. After her mother died, she was raised by her father, grandmother, Ina Cobourn, and her aunt, Ophelia Baldwin of Martinsburg.
Her first husband, Stuart H. Butler Sr., preceded her in death.
Her second husband, Arwin Edwards, also preceded her in death.
She was a beautician.
She attended Bedington United Methodist Church.
In addition to her aunt, she is survived by one daughter, Diana Lynn Manor of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two sons, Stuart H. Butler Jr. of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren; and one uncle.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Mitchell L. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Thomas Franklin Marple Jr., 65, of Route 2, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Bunker Hill, he was the son of the late Thomas Franklin Sr. and Margaret Clark Marple.
He retired from General Motors after 20 years of service, and was a member of United Auto Workers.
He was a member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church.
He also was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose and Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Lynn Marple; two sons, Thomas Franklin Marple III of Bunker Hill, and Robert Lynn Marple of Winchester, Va.; five sisters, Mary Deal of Sperryville, Va., Georgia Gardner of Augusta, W.Va., Louise Daniels and Evelyn Shirley, both of Bunker Hill, and Virginia Boitnott of Charles Town, W.Va.; one brother, Danny R. Marple of Martinsburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery.

Lester M. Myers
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Lester Martin Myers, 85, of Shepherdstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1997, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia, Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Feb. 12, 1912, in Shepherdstown, he was the son of the late Harry and Jean Myers.
He retired, after many years, from Elmwood cemetery in Shepherdstown. He was previously employed by McKee Orchards, Shepherdstown.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by one sister, Heidi Topple of Martinsburg; and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Schlack of Shepherdstown.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Myers.
A graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at Elmwood cemetery in Shepherdstown. The Rev. Robert Campbell Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown.
There will be no visitation.
