SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - James Ray Thompson Sr., 73, of Snyder's Trailer Court, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born April 18, 1924, in Virginia, he was the son of the late John M. and Susan N. Thomas Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carra M. Brackett Thompson, in 1986.
He is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Mae Dominick of Pennsylvania, Betty Painter of Texas, Phyllis Leyh of Martinsburg and Donna Thompson of Shenandoah Junction; four brothers, James Thompson Jr. and Thomas Thompson, both of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Robert Thompson and Todd Thompson, both of Charles Town, W.Va.; one sister, Nancy Gumphrey of Baltimore; one brother, George Thompson of Baltimore; 30 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, James Thompson; and one sister, Lannie Thompson.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, 310 Fairfax Blvd., Charles Town. The Rev. Lee Strickler will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Doris M. Lipsic
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Doris M. Lipsic, 75, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born March 9, 1923, in Toronto, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alta Jackson Marler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron "Sonny" Lipsic.
She was a graduate of Romney High School. She graduated from Shepherd College, where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.
She was a retired Berkeley County school teacher. She was an art and English instructor at Martinsburg South Middle School for more than 30 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Hartz and Janice L. Hooe, both of Martinsburg; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Roger L. Myers Sr., 45, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 9, 1953, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Mabel Collis Myers of Martinsburg and the late Harry F. Myers Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Karen M. Lewis, Melissa Myers and Leslie Franks, all of Martinsburg; two sons, Roger L. Myers Jr. of Martinsburg and William F. Myers of Hagerstown; one sister, Lorraine Cole of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; two brothers, the Rev. Edward L. Myers of Marlowe, W.Va., and Joseph Myers of Martinsburg; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry F. Myers Jr.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold L. Hess and the Rev. Edward L. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Mountainside cemetery.

Dawn L. Mose
MARLOWE, W.Va. - Dawn Louise Cookus Mose, 56, of Marlowe, died Monday, March 23, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1941, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Henry Cookus Sr. and Lorene Viola Crabbe Cookus.
She was a 1958 graduate of Martinsburg High School; a graduate of Shepherd College; and Shippensburg University, where she received her master's degree.
She was a teacher at Williamsport Elementary School for 35 years; and formerly taught at Burke Street School.
She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher; was associated with United Methodist Youth; a member of Drake Sunday School Class; Administrative Board; and Kitchen Expansion Committee.
She was a member of Washington County Teachers Association and AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Mose; one daughter, Lynnae LeaAnne Mose at home; one son, William Burnett Mose at home; one sister, Betty Jane Snyder of Martinsburg; three brothers, Gary Cookus of Marlowe, William Cookus of Martinsburg and Douglas Cookus of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Heatherlee Dawn Mose; and one brother, Paul Cookus.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church. Dr. Ray Roberson and the Rev. Randall S. Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Shepherdstown, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg; and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Joseph A. Williamson
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Joseph A. "Joe" Williamson, 82, of Falling Waters, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at his home.
Born May 26, 1915, in Cold Stream, W.Va., he was the son of the late Omer and Grace Wolfe Williamson.
He was a 1936 graduate of Capon Bridge High School.
He was retired. He worked at Milmar Plastics, Hagerstown; Fairchild, Hagerstown; and O'Boyle Tank Lines, Martinsburg, W.Va.
He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where he was an usher and a member of the Administrative Board.
He was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 16; a member of Junior Order UAM Local 35, Martinsburg; and a volunteer of Berkeley County Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Haines Williamson, whom he married May 25, 1937; one daughter, Donna Fieth of San Diego; one son, Allen Williamson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; four grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one son, Maurice E. "Moe" Williamson; and one daughter, Mary E. Williamson.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church, Marlowe, W.Va. Dr. Ray Roberson will officiate. Burial will be in Timber Ridge cemetery, Highview, W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Edna V. Fleming, 79, of Martinsburg, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at her home.
Born April 6, 1918, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Lillie McCoy Tucker.
She was a housewife.
She was a member of Tuscarora Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, George W. Fleming Jr.; one son, Gary G. Fleming of Martinsburg; four grandchildren, Eric Fleming, Jonathon Fleming, Cody Fleming and Karyn Byers; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie A. Tucker; and four brothers, Harry Tucker, Richard Tucker, Raymond Tucker and Leonard Tucker.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bruce McClendon will officiate. Burial will be in Tuscarora Presbyterian Church cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Nelson G. Dunn, 79, of Martinsburg, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at home.
Born Sept. 16, 1918, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Ollie B. and Anna T. Dunn.
He was retired from Berkeley County Board of Education.
He was a life member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Horchner of Hagerstown and Carol A. Dunn of Martinsburg; one granddaughter, Christina Horchner; one grandson, Scott Horchner; and one great-grandson, Warren Horchner.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Elwood R. Dunn Sr.; and a sister and brother in infancy.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Fred A. Greenfield will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ernest H. "Frosty" Snow, 41, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Georgetown University Hospital.
Born Feb. 14, 1957, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Lloyd "Hank" and Frances "June" Smeltzer Snow of Martinsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sheryl "Denny" Ronan Snow; three daughters, Karen Snow, Dusty Snow and Andrea Snow, all at home; one sister, Debbie Snow of Florida; four brothers, Lloyd Snow of Alabama, Raymond Snow, Jeffrey Snow and Tracy Snow, all of Martinsburg; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven "Chub" Snow.
Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Major David Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
