GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Jacqueline Michou Doak, 78, of Great Cacapon, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born July 30, 1919, in Orleans, France, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Marie Aupert Michou.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur K. Doak, in 1996.
She was a retired employee of Fleischman Yeast Co., Washington, D.C.
She was a member of Wesleyan Chapel in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., for the past 24 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Violette Roy of St. Ay, France, and Micheliene Hure of Maule, France; four brothers, Raoul Michou and Bernard Michou, both of St. Ay; Guy Michou of Paris, and Jacques Michou of LaChappelle St. Mesmir, France.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wesleyan Chapel, 612 Harrison Ave., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs and Wednesday, one hour prior to service at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Clifford C. Shade Sr.
INWOOD, W.Va. - Clifford C. "Tunie" Shade Sr., 69, of Inwood, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born June 11, 1928, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Elijah and Margaret Richmond Shade.
He retired from Continental Brick after 42 years.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Shade; two daughters, Sally A. Malatt of Inwood and Colleen F. Shade of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Clifford C. Shade Jr. of Inwood and L. Scott Shade of Martinsburg; one brother, James T. Butts of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances Shirley, Bessie Miller, Madaline Hite and Izola Hite; and three brothers, Robert Shade, Merle Shade and Dennie Shade.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle, W.Va. 45 West. The Rev. Donald Preston will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Raymond R. Pittman II
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Raymond Ralph Pittman II, 37, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, May 30, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
He was the son of Raymond R. and Carole Catlett Pittman of Berkeley Springs.
In 1975, he joined Morgan County Rescue Squad as a junior member. He was a senior member for 19 years; and served as rescue chief for one year.
He received a degree from Shepherd College as a licensed paramedic.
He was employed as a correctional officer at Maryland Correctional Training Center at Hagerstown for 14 years.
He was an organ donor.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Randy Pittman and Rodney Pittman, both of Berkeley Springs; grandmother, Ama Catlett, of Berkeley Springs; and grandmother, Lillian Pittman of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers Clark L. Catlett and Harry E. Pittman.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery.
The viewing will be Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Withrow J. Jones
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Withrow John Jones, 74, of Shepherdstown, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 25, 1923, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles E. and Ollie Mitchell Jones.
He is survived by nieces and nephews, including niece, Frances Mason of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and nephew, Hunter Johnson of Jefferson County.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Walsh, Hattie Miller and Louise Abrell; and four brothers, Woodrow Jones, Ernest Jones, Robert Jones and Charles "Snook" Jones.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale cemetery. Pastor Larry Carpenter will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Clement Thomas Baxter Jr., 59, of Harpers Ferry, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Aug. 20, 1938, in Beverly, Mass., he was the son of Clement Thomas Baxter Sr. and Constance O'Connor Baxter of Hamilton, Mass.
He was a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston; and received his master's of business administration from Babson College, Wellsley, Mass.
He was vice president of administration and finance at Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va., for seven years.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Shepherdstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Ann Scannell Baxter; two daughters, Dawn Baxter Smith of Cambridge, Mass., and Kelly Baxter of Brookline, Mass.; one son, Mark Baxter of Weymouth, Mass.; one sister, Jane Bashaw of Texas; two brothers, Robert Baxter of Indiana and James Baxter of Rhode Island; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Avon, Mass. The Rev. McElroy will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Mary Tieman Dise, 90, of Harpers Ferry, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Shenandoah Nursing Center, Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Sept. 25, 1907, in Joy, Ill., she was the daughter of the late William Perry and Annie Virginia Smouse Tieman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Waldo Lee Dise, in 1984. They were married in 1923.
She was educated at Wesley Collegiate Institute, Dover, Del.
For 45 years, they served charges in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware and Maryland in both the Lutheran Synod and Methodist Ministry, except for four years when the Rev. Dise was Chaplain with the 9th Army Field Hospital during World War II.
She is survived by one daughter, Anita Dise Brown of Harpers Ferry; one son, Kendall Arden Dise of Davao City, Philippines; one sister, Geneva Dowd of Waverly, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Tieman and Nelson Tieman.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury, Md. The Rev. B.E. Painter will officiate. Burial will be in Wicomico Memorial Park, Salisbury.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - James Edward Yates, 59, of Charles Town, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Jan. 22, 1939, in Charles Town, he was the son of the late Richard and Rose Yates Taylor.
He was employed at Charles Town Races as a groom.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by four daughters, Rosemary Sinclair of Martinsburg, Devale Underwood of Leesburg, Fla., Samantha Thornton and Taunya Luckett, both of Ranson; seven sons, Amy Jackson of Kearneysville, W.Va., Joe Berry of Martinsburg, James Thornton of Ranson, W.Va., Andre McDonald, Wayne Clyburn, Armstead Craig and Dehaven Craig, all of Charles Town; two sisters, Harriet V. Taylor of Norfolk, Va., and Patricia Taylor of Temple Hills, Md.; three brothers, John Richard Yates and James Richard Taylor, both of Mission Hills, Calif., and Issacs Yates of Winchester, Va.; grandchildren; two uncles; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, J. W. Taylor.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at House of Prayer, 501 W. Congress St., Charles Town. Bishop Walter Newman will officiate. Burial will be in Myerstown cemetery, Rippon, W.Va.

Bernard H. Shipe
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Bernard H. "Bernie" Shipe, 73, of Martinsburg, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born June 29, 1924, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Julian and Sarah Beeler Shipe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Miller Shipe.
He was owner and operator of Elite Barber Shop.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Jefferson County Izaak Walton League; NRA; Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW; Berkeley Post 14 American Legion; Fraternal Order of Eagles; and Martinsburg Lodge 120 Loyal Order of Moose.
He is survived by one son, Larry J. Shipe of Hagerstown; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Baker of Martinsburg; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack L. Shipe.
A graveside service will be held today at 1 p.m. at Rosedale cemetery. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Essie Elizabeth Baker, 90, of Charles Town, died Monday, June 1, 1998, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab Center in Charles Town.
Born June 28, 1907, in Bakers Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie A. Baker, in 1983.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Feagans of Charles Town and Betty Richards of Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Gene A. Baker of Martinsburg, W.Va., George Alfred Baker and Glenn E. Baker, both of Charles Town; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Effie Bott and Dotie Smith; and two brothers, Rowland Bott and Wardie Bott.
Graveside services will be Thursday at noon at Baker United Methodist Church Yard cemetery in Baker, W.Va. The Rev. Donald Sanger will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
