BAKERTON, W.Va. - Gerald "Jake" Holler Sr., 71, of Bakerton, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Dec. 16, 1926, in Bakerton, he was the son of the late William Amos and Maud Eleanor Grimm Holler.
He was a retired welder from Eastalco Aluminum Co., Buckeystown, Md.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a Methodist.
He was a member of Harpers Ferry-Bolivar Veterans Association, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., American Legion; and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Florence Ketterman Holler; one daughter, Mary Ellen Clipp of Charles Town, W.Va.; one son, Gerald D. Holler Jr.; two sisters, Rebecca Walker of Brunswick, Md., and Jean Holler of Bakerton; one brother, Amos C. Holler of Charles Town; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Lee Holler; three sisters, Mildred Milosevich, Eleanor Holler and Anna Fries; and two brothers, William Holler and Wallace Holler.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. Burial will be in Rosedale cemetery, Martinsburg, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Albert R. Wood
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Albert Romaine Wood, 96, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Aug. 18, 1901, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Laura Hudson Wood.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Ruth Olson Wood.
He was a retired plumber.
He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Williamsport.
He is survived by one son Gene R. Wood of Hedgesville; and one sister, Loretta Brokett of Los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Alice Kimberland; two sisters, Mabel Kellogg and Reta Bedford; and one brother, Hudson Wood.

Glenn W. Borgeson
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Glenn W. Borgeson, 72, of St. Paul, and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Our Ladies of Good Counsel Home, St. Paul.
Born June 22, 1925, in Duluth, Minn., he was the son of Idena Borgeson and the late Arthur Borgeson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Maxine Borgeson.
He worked for Union Pacific Railroad; and National Computer Center, Martinsburg.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Martinsburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Idena Long of Martinsburg and Tara Lynn Billingsley of Elkhorn, Wis.; two sisters, Marjorie Ingram of Duluth and Betty Pauba of Plymouth, Minn.; three brothers, Roger Borgeson of California, Arthur Borgeson of Hermantown, Minn., and David Borgeson of Duluth; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Delores J. Steiner
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Delores Jean Steiner, 68, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, June 2, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born March 15, 1930, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Raymond McKinley and Mamie Estella Peck Steiner.
She attended North Berkeley School and Berkeley Springs High School.
She retired in 1980 from Solo Cup Co., Arbutus, Md., where she had worked as a machinist.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Leon Funt of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Alice Lee Close and Viola V. Steiner, both of Berkeley Springs; three brothers, William Steiner, Oliver Steiner and Raymond Steiner, all of Berkeley Springs; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Steiner and Juanita Kay; and one brother, Morgan Steiner.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Spohrs Crossroads cemetery, Berkeley Springs. The Rev. William C. Swope will officiate.

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Walter Darrell Ladd, 86, of Shepherdstown, died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born June 27, 1911, in Paris, Ark., he was the son of the late Burrell and Allie Wright Ladd.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Josephine Mary Stahl Ladd; one son, Allen W. Ladd of Shepherdstown; one brother, James Ladd Sr. of Florida; a niece, Sharon Ripple of Sharpsburg; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Duell Ladd.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church Yard cemetery, Red House, Md. The Rev. Jeffrey Wilson will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Laura Evylene Shade, 84, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, in Kingwood, W.Va.
Born Dec. 26, 1913, in Terra Alta, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Grace Bucklew Childs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Shade, in 1984.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; Circle 6; United Methodist Women; and Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class.
She served during World War II as a surgical technician in the Women's Army Corps; and was an American Red Cross volunteer.
She is survived by one son, Donald Shade of Simpsonville, S.C.; one brother, Richard Childs of Whetsell Settlement, W.Va., with whom she resided; two grandsons; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Childs, in 1972.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. G. Edward Grove will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Born Feb. 1, 1906, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Butler and Mary Jane Snyder Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmert S. Sanders.
She was formerly employed at Perfection Garment Co. and Jefferson Manufacturing. She was a seasonal employee at C.H. Musselman Co.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and its Sarah Philathea Class.
She is survived by one daughter, Arlene V. Lehr of York, Pa.; one sister, Alma M. Miller of Martinsburg; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Emmert Sanders Sr.; one grandson, Donald Emmert Sanders Jr.; one sister, Mable E. Albert; and eight brothers, Martin L. Miller, Melvin M. Miller, Lester M. Miller, Charles B. Miller Jr., Ralph E. Miller, Orville V. Miller, Jack L. Miller and Harold G. Miller Sr.

Clifford L. Heironimus
GREENWOOD, W.Va. - Clifford "Cliff" Louie Heironimus, 55, of the Greenwood section of Morgan County, W.Va., died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at his home.
Born May 25, 1943, in Greenwood, he was the son of Anna Marie Stotler Heironimus of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and the late Charles Edwin Heironimus.
He was a 1961 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
Following high school, he worked for Weber Tire Co., Falls Church, Va.; and for H.W. Eberts Garage, Winchester, Va.
He joined the U.S. Air Force Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1970 with the rank of staff sergeant.
He formerly owned and operated Cliff's Esso Service Station on U.S. 522 South, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He worked with Valley Service Center, Bunker Hill, W.Va. He owned and operated Cliff's Auto Repair in Unger, W.Va., from 1989 until his retirement due to illness in 1997.
In 1972, he was one of the founders and charter members of South Morgan County Volunteer Fire Department, and was an honorary member.
He was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Unger, W.Va. He served on the Board of Directors of the Greenwood Grove cemetery Association.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dorothy Ellen Mason Heironimus; one daughter, Misty H. Dillon of Winchester, Va.; one son, Bryan K. Heironimus of Berkeley Springs; four sisters, Retha Crosen of Winchester, Va., Ella Mae Houston of Martinsburg, W.Va., Lynda K. Bradley of Berkeley Springs, and Bonita F. Kline of Clarksville, Tenn.; four brothers, Charles "Chuck" H. Heironimus of Inwood, W.Va., Donald "Jimmy" Heironimus of Inwood, Kenneth Gene Heironimus of Berkeley Springs, and Richard Lynn Heironimus of Berkeley Springs; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Ann Heironimus.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church, Unger, W.Va. The Rev. Hennis H. Fox, the Rev. Sue Hallager, the Rev. Byrl Shaver II and Pastor George Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Grove cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs; and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
