MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Rena Elizabeth Watkins, 91, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Care Haven of Berkeley.
Born Feb. 28, 1907, in Stephens City, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Annie R. Dunn Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oroliff I. Miller; and by her second husband, Walter Clifford Watkins.
She attended Four Square Gospel Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen R. Bryan of Charleston, W.Va.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David B. Miller Sr.; one grandchild, Judy Lee Clark; three sisters, Bertha Tharp, Ethel L. Stewart and Lovit Aikens; and one brother, Elva Bennett.
Services will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Clyde Brook will officiate. Burial will be in New Norborne cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
William M. Chenoweth
GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - William Martin Chenoweth, 82, of Great Cacapon, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at his home.
Born April 23, 1916, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Oliver Dorsey and Marguerite Elizabeth Palmer Chenoweth.
He was a member of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church, Chevy Chase, Md.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483, Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by one daughter, Anne Lee Chenoweth of Potomac, Md.; one son, William Martin Chenoweth Jr. of Arcadia, Calif.; one half sister, Mary McGehee of Vienna, Va.; two brothers, Oliver Dorsey Chenoweth Jr. of Westminster, Md., and Donald Harding Chenoweth of Lantana, Fla.; three granddaughters; one grandson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Terra Chenoweth and Bryan Chenoweth; and one sister, Ruth Alice Pearsall.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Miguel Gonzalez Jr., 30, of Martinsburg, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born Feb. 27, 1968, in Los Angeles, he was the son of Miguel and Esperanza Martinez Gonzalez Sr.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Martinsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Monica Gonzalez of Martinsburg and Judith Gonzalez of California; and a brother, Eliberto Rodriguez of California.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Eugene Webber will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
Mary E. Tabler
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Estella Masters Tabler, 82, formerly of Tablers Station, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born March 8, 1916, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charley S. Masters and Eva Heironimus Masters Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Tabler.
She was a member of Tabler Presbyterian Church.
She had worked at Interwoven and The C.H. Musselman Plant.
She is survived by two daughters, Eva J. Wightman of Glengary, W.Va., and Dorothy Custer of Inwood, W.Va.; two sons, Alvin Tabler of Inwood and John Dennis Tabler of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Minerva Wisecarver and Dorothy Milburn, both of Martinsburg, and Marie Farmer of Winchester, Va.; two brothers, Charles Masters and Carlton Masters, both of Inwood; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Milburn and Madeline Hoover; and one brother, Robert Masters.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Robin R. Reese will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Lillian Rose Bennett, 83, of Great Cacapon, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at her home.
Born May 23, 1915, in Largent, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence McKinley and Flora Edith Merchant Batt.
She attended Enon School, Largent.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Tritapoe of Great Cacapon; one son, Robert Lee Twigg of Great Cacapon; two sisters, Portia V. Largent of Largent and Mamie Carpenter of Keystone Heights, Fla.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathryn Jean Peck; four sisters, Mary Perry, Zella Whisner, Anna Belle White and Shirley Ann Batt; one brother, Charles Allen Batt; and three grandsons.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Steven R. Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon cemetery, Great Cacapon.

Goldie M. Turner
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Goldie Mae Turner, 68, of Charles Town, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at Heartland of Martinsburg.
Born April 1, 1930, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of Sarah Frances "Sadie" Dinges May of Smithsburg and the late Leo Hilliard.
She had been employed by several families in Jefferson County, W.Va., assisting in raising their children.
She was a member of Summit Point Baptist Church, Summit Point, W.Va., taught Sunday school and was a leader of GA's and Mission Friends.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Sherry L. Drish of Wide Horizon, Kearneysville, W.Va.; one sister, Judith M. Stottlemyer of Smithsburg; one brother, Boyd D. May of Martinsburg; and one grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Henry Styron will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Harold J. "Pappy" Peggs, 74, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born July 5, 1924, in Glenville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Alonzo and Mamie Norman Peggs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett VanMetre Peggs.
He was a member of Butlers Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Hedgesville Fire Department.
He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Heidorn of Martinsburg, Brenda Palmer of Cherry Run, W.Va., and Debbie Peggs of Marlowe, W.Va.; two sons, Ronald L. Peggs and Harold Wayne Peggs, both of Martinsburg; one stepdaughter, Frances French of Hedgesville; two brothers, Kenneth Peggs of Tulsa, Okla., and Shirley Peggs of Martinsburg; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, George VanMetre.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Madaline M. Speelman Butts, 76, of Martinsburg, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at her home.
Born April 18, 1922, in Romney, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James William and Hannah Iliffe Speelman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Lee Butts.
She is survived by seven sons, James Butts, Clifford Butts and Thomas Butts, all of Martinsburg, Jerry Butts Sr. and Mark Butts, both of Hedgesville, W.Va., Richard Butts of Inwood, W.Va., and Roger Butts of Mineral City, Ohio; one stepson, Lewis Butts of Martinsburg; three sisters, Edith Rush of Winchester, Va., Catherine Darlington of Martinsburg and Blanche Clinedinot of Romney; one brother, Frank Speelman of Pennsylvania; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Patty Ann Butts; one son, Robert Randolph Speelman; two stepsons, Paul Butts and Melvin Butts; five sisters, Jane, Sue, Carrie, Bernice and Anne; and one brother, Robert Speelman.

Edward V. Lutzenhiser
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Edward V. Lutzenhiser, 84, of Berkeley Springs, and formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died Monday, July 13, 1998, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
Born March 30, 1914, in Saginaw, Mich., he was the son of the late Roy and Lydia Kelly Lutzenhiser.
He owned and operated Ed's Garage and Body Shop in Dayton from 1953 to 1987. He later worked as a caretaker at Sheetz Convenience Store in Berkeley Springs.
He was a member of Morain Baptist Church, Dayton.
He was a member of AARP.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Edith "Mickey" Wilson Lutzenhiser; three daughters, Beverly Jo, Joyce Ann and Judy Kay; two stepdaughters, Irene Hedrick and Jean Garringer, both of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Wanda Lee of Marysville, Mich., Virginia Kelley of Port Huron, Mich., and Violet Vining of Decker, Mich.; two brothers, Lewis Lutzenhiser of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Lee Lutzenhiser of Porta Gorda, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Lutzenhiser and Irving Lutzenhiser.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John O. Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
