BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Lottie E. Weatherholtz, 102, of Bunker Hill, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at her daughter's home in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 30, 1896, in Mount Jackson, Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Martha Kones Dellinger.
Her husband, James Luther Weatherholtz Sr., preceded her in death.
She was a member of Inwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Vernie Wise of Martinsburg, with whom she resided, and Valley Madigan of Stephens City, Va.; two sons, George B. Weatherholtz of Bunker Hill and James L. Weatherholtz Jr. of Inwood, W.Va.; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Hite; two sons, John Barton and Richard R. Weatherholtz; four sisters and six brothers.
Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Kenneth Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Alfred D. Mason Sr.
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Rev. Alfred David Mason Sr., 80, of North Fort Myers, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Blue Ridge Acres, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
Born May 13, 1918, in Bellaire, Ohio, he was the son of the late John and Blanche Buchannan Mason.
He graduated from Eastern Nazarene College with a degree in theology and psychology. He completed a master's degree in special education at Trenton State College plus 30 hours toward a Ph.D.
For more than 40 years, he pastored four churches in Smithton, Pa., Staunton, Va., Springfield Gardens, N.Y., and Egg Harbor City, N.J. He taught special education at Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, N.J., for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Letha Beryl Granger Mason; two daughters, Sandra Cheryl Calvert of Kalispell, Mont., and Merilyn Kay Romero of Coral Springs, Fla.; two sons, Alfred Davis Mason Jr. of Charles Town, W.Va., and Herbert Joseph Mason of Harpers Ferry; two sisters, Bessie Greco of Waynesboro, Pa., and Edna Mae King of Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers, John Allen Mason of Ohio and Burdette W. Mason of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia McClure; and one brother, Arthur Mason.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Loudoun Valley Church of the Nazarene, Route 9, Hillsboro, Va. The Rev. Athan Burch will officiate with the Rev. Carlton Gleason and the Rev. George W. Rice assisting. Burial will be private.

David L. Nelson
RANSON, W.Va. - David Lewis Nelson, 31, of 621 E. Fifth Ave., died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson.
Born Nov. 17, 1966, in Ranson, he was the son of William A. Nelson Jr. and Mary Harder Nelson of Ranson.
He was employed by Royal Vendors, Bardane, W.Va.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, Charles Town, W.Va., and Blue Ridge Rangers Softball Team.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Christan Nelson of Kearneysville, W.Va.; two sisters, Belinda Nelson and Tammy Ford, both of Ranson; and two brothers, Richard W. Nelson of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and William A. Nelson III of Martinsburg, W.Va.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Brian Owens will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

LeLand E. Williamson Sr.
BERRYVILLE, Va. - LeLand E. "Bubby" Williamson Sr., 76, of 410 Walnut St., died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, in Ranson, W.Va., he was the son of the late Leedom J. and Emma Stroup Williamson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Williamson, in 1995.
He was a 1939 graduate of Charles Town (W.Va.) High School.
He was manager of Berryville Lumber Co. Inc. from 1946 to 1959. He was president of Whitmore Lumber Co. Inc. from 1959 to 1986.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served in the Asiatic Pacific. He received two Battle Stars, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of Berryville Baptist Church.
He was a member of Builders Supply Association of West Virginia; past commander of VFW Post 9760; past commander of American Legion Post 41; and commander of Clarke County Honor Guard.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon W. Clark of Berryville; one son, L. Eugene Williamson Jr. of Berryville; one sister, Dorothy Cowley of Logan, Utah; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Green Hill cemetery, Berryville. William E. Ingram will officiate. Military honors will be by Clarke County Honor Guard.

BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Ernest Green Lewis Sr., 88, of Blandy Street, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, at his home.
Born Dec. 24, 1909, in Middleway, W.Va., he was the son of the late David E. and Annie Russ Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Taylor Lewis, in 1993.
He was a retired mechanic with Jones and Laughlin Steel Co. at the Blair Plant.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
He is survived by two daughters, Frances Watkins of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Nancy Brown of Syracuse, N.Y.; two sons, Charles C. Lewis of Martinsburg and James W. Lewis of Woodbridge, Va.; five sisters, Polly Taylor, Georgie Williams, Lillia Camphor, Grace Fergus and Sarah Swaby; one brother, John Lewis; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ernest G. Lewis Jr.; five sisters, Evelyn Lewis, Anna Shelton, Ella McDaniel, Dora Lewis and Essie Campbell; two brothers, James Lewis and Herman Lewis; and one grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wainwright Baptist Church, Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. William Thomas, the Rev. Walter Jackson and the Rev. John Green will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

Robert B. Baldwin
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Robert Brewster Baldwin, 91, of 116 E. King St., Apt. 113, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born April 4, 1907, in Roscoe, Ill., he was the son of the late Dr. Willis C. and Frances Hinkley Baldwin.
He was a graduate of the School of Banking at Rutgers University.
He was employed by the bank of Sugar Grove, Pa., for 45 years.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Sugar Grove.
He was a member of Corry, Pa., Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Louella Nobbs Baldwin of Martinsburg; one daughter, Carol B. Gossard of Martinsburg; one granddaughter, Erin Kretzer of Sharpsburg; one grandson, Jason Robert McCullough of Greencastle, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Elizabeth Baldwin; and one brother, Howard Parke Baldwin.
Services will be held in Warren, Pa., at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Warren.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon at the Holiday Inn in Warren.

Rudi B. Matthes
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Rudi Bruno Matthes, 68, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
Born Feb. 8, 1930, in Naumburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Rosie Romea Matthes.
He worked as a brick mason in commercial construction in Germany.
He immigrated to the United States in 1958, settled in Whitewater, Wis., and worked at the Whitewater Foundry. From the mid-1960s until his retirement in March 1998 he was the resident manager of Blackstone Villa in Chicago. He and his wife moved to Berkeley Springs in 1998.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Barbara Mesarosch Matthes; two daughters, Monika A. Witek of Berkeley Springs, and Mary A. Sowa of Missouri; one son, Heinz R. Matthes of Nevada; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John S. Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
