OAK HILL - Nannie L. Humphrey Williams, 93, formerly of Long Branch, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at her home following a long illness.
Born Sept. 1, 1906, at Long Branch, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pinkie Jarrell Humphrey.
Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and member of Long Branch United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie H. Williams, Feb. 23, 1971.
Survivors include a son, Elbert Williams of St. Albans; three daughters, Helen Cabell of Gauley Bridge, Betty Williams of Charleston and Freda Schriever of West Monroe, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Mark Skaggs officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill.

MARION, Ohio - Barbara E. Wood, 57, formerly of Ansted and Swiss, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000.

Arlene I. Wyatt
Arlene I. Wyatt, 75, of Shady Spring, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.
A Christian, Mrs. Wyatt was a member of Prosperity Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Having moved to Shady Spring in recent years, she lived most of her life in Sophia, where she made her home with her husband, Earl Jesse Wyatt, who preceded her in death.
Born Oct. 11, 1924, at Pickshin, she was the eldest daughter of the late Herman Smallmon and Edna Elane Cox Smallmon Gauldin. Her father died young, and she was reared by her mother and stepfather, the Rev. Wyatt R. Gauldin, also deceased.
Mrs. Wyatt was a longtime employee of Beckley Manufacturing before her retirement in 1975 and former employee of Pinecrest Sanitarium in Beckley.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mable Ann Gauldin Honaker; and two brothers, Robert Douglas and Mickey R. Gauldin.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Lorain (Margaret) Meadows of Shady Spring, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Deal of Prosperity, Mildred Miller of Dayton, Ohio, and Marie Carter of New Castle, Pa.; two brothers, W.R. Jr. of Dayton and Leonard of Prosperity; two uncles, the Rev. Okey Cox and Herman Cox, both of Soak Creek; an aunt, Joy Blevins of Meadow Bridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Revs. Donald Sparks and Dean Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Earl Joseph Blankenship, 75, of Renick, died at his residence 4:30 a.m. Sunday, March 5, 2000, following a short illness.
Born June 30, 1924, at Renick, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nora Huffman Blankenship.
He was of the Protestant faith, a retired farmer, and life-long resident of Greenbrier County.
Mr. Blankenship was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee and Floyd; six sisters, Ruby Jeffries, Ruth Nelson, Dolly Blake, Gladys McMillion, Maggie Cochran, and Delila Blankenship.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Sizemore of Fawn Grove, Penn.; and special friends, Mrs. Erie Roberts, Juanita and David Johnston, all of Renick.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Frankford Chapel of McCraw Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett "Hat" Definbaugh. Burial will follow in Ellis Chapel cemetery at Brushy Flats.

HINTON - James Edward Conner, 85, of 522 Fourth Ave., died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Summers County ARH Hospital in Hinton after a long illness.
Born June 22, 1914, at Glen White, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Dale Upton Conner.
He was a retired welder for Union Carbide, a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge in St. Albans, a charter member of the Highlawn Baptist in St. Albans and a member of the Central Baptist Church in Hinton. He has been a resident of Hinton for the past 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Louise Conner; and six brothers, Frank, Ronald, Gilbert, William, Robert and Jack Conner.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Payne Conner; one son, Jack Conner and his wife, Marge, of Cleveland, Ohio; one stepson, Terry L. Payne and his wife, Kay, of Hinton; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Delane (Kay) Cochran of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Doug (Becky) Dillon of Hilldale, and Mrs. Curtis (Barbara) Shumate of Danville, Va.; three grandchildren, James Conner of Wheeling, Jeffrey Conner of Columbus, Ohio, and Patricia Puckett of Culver, Ind.; one great-granddaughter; 14 stepgrandchildren and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with the Rev. Glen Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton.

Vence Dillon
Vence Dillon, 73, of Arnett, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2000, in the General Division, CAMC, Charleston, after a short illness.
He was born Jan. 26, 1921, at Arnett, a son of the late Ward William Dillon and Sarah A. Bone Dillon Bonds.
He was a retired employee of Peabody and a former employee of Armco Steel Coal Mines with a total of 47 years' service; an Army veteran; a member and trustee of Arnett Chapel for 47 years, serving as youth leader, Sunday school superintendent, teacher of adult class, choir director and had also had 37 years' perfect attendance. He was a member of the Arnett Quartet and Trio.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Honaker, Ethel Dillon and two infants; a brother, Lawrence Dillon; a stepfather, Harve Bonds.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Blankenship Dillon; daughter, Sandy Simmons and husband, Edsel; and two sons, Darrin Dillon and Terry Dillon and wife, Connie, all of Arnett; sister, Ivory Allen of Fairdale; grandchildren, Mrs. Cleve (Lindsay) Honaker, Jessica and Andrew Dillon.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Arnett Chapel, Arnett, with the Rev. Timmy Brewster and the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Dillon, Brian Lovely, Kevin Lovely, Donnie Aliff, Marty Allen, Larry Allen and Gary Clay.
