Billie Roy Gill
Billie Roy Gill, 63, of Beaver, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at a Beckley area hospital following a long illness.
Born June 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles F. Gill and Viola E. Smith Gill of Bellwood.
Mr. Gill was a former employee of John W. Eye and a coal miner for Rural Coal Company. He was also a member of the Meadow Bridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Gill was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Eugene Gill.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Hall Gill; two daughters, Rhonda Kay Marshall of Grand Rapids, N.C. and Rita Faye Bier of Ohio; four stepchildren, Robin Todd of Beckley, Curtis Todd of Beckley, Lisa Todd Haynes of Daniels, and Jamie Plumley of Pennsylvania; five brothers, Calvin Gill of Bellwood, Willis Gill of Trafalgar, Ind., Findley Gill of Buckhannon, Floyd Gill of Trafalgar, Ind., and Larry Gill of Indianapolis, Ind.; five sisters, Linda Syrus of Bargersville, Ind., Nellie Hicks of Trafalgar, Edith Castle of Criders, Va., and Kelley Gill and Christy Gill, both of Harrisonburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Jonathan, David, Sarah, and Katie Marshall; seven stepgrandchildren, Justin Rodgers, Harlen and Savannah Todd, Christina, Felichia, and Junior Haynes, and Tracie Floyd.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Jeannette F. Ligocki
Jeannette Frances Ligocki (Legursky), 72, of Beaver, formerly of Raleigh, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born Sept. 1, 1928, in Raleigh, she was the daughter of the late Frank Kerr and Pauline Underwood Kerr.
Jeannette was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in Raleigh, having lived the past 11 years in Beaver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Ligocki; and a sister, Margaret Kerr.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Lucas and her husband, James, of Beaver, with whom she made her home; a granddaughter, Jamie Stump and her husband, Jeff, of Daniels; a grandson, Shawn Lucas of Beaver; a brother, James Kerr and his wife, Doris, of Raleigh; and a special niece, Mary Chapman and her husband, Willard, of Raleigh.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Metz officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

James G. Martin
MOUNT HOPE - James Garland Martin, 42, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at a Beckley hospital.
Born Oct. 6, 1957, in Greenbrier County, he was the son of Mae Martin Kincaid of Maple Fork and the late Garland G. Martin.
Mr. Martin was employed by Catenary Coal at Cabin Creek for the last eight years. He was a member of the UMWA and was of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include his son, Michael Martin and his wife, Sarah, of Maple Fork; a daughter, Angela Martin and friend Curtis Martin of Athens; two brothers, Phillip Martin and his wife, Becky, of Sweeneysburg and Ronnie Martin and his wife, Teresa, of Mt. Tabor; a sister, Debbie Wells of Bradley; a stepbrother, Jacob Kincaid of Maple Fork; a stepsister, Kayla Kincaid of Maple Fork; his stepfather, Dencil Kincaid of Maple Fork; his grandmother, Lorine Holliday of Rupert; and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Gardens, Clintonville.

Mark L. Powers
RAINELLE - Mark L. Powers, 53, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, in Wadesboro, N.C. following a short illness.
Born May 10, 1947, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of Theda Fleshman Powers of Jacksonville, N.C., and the late French Blaine Powers.
Mr. Powers was a former businessman in Rainelle and a member of the Rainelle Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Powers.
Survivors include his wife, Johna "Cricket" Powers; a son, Jason Brock Powers of Wilmington, N.C.; two stepsons, Jason Sloan of Rainelle and John Glen Young of Rainelle; a daughter, Kirsten Paige Powers of Charmco; two sisters, Nell Gwinn and husband, Danny, of Jacksonville, N.C., and Lisa Brown and husband, Mark, of Tobaccoville, N.C.; three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. today at Smathers Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Dana Gatewood officiating.
The body will be cremated.

Rickey Quesenberry
HUNTINGTON - Rickey A. "Rick" Quesenberry, 38, of 3686 Mount Union Rd., formerly of Daniels, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at the Charleston Medical Center.
Born Aug. 16, 1962, in Passaic, N.Y., he was the son of Gay Bragg Quesenberry of Daniels, and the late Forrest Quesenberry.
Mr. Quesenberry was employed by Oakwood Mobile Homes as district manager. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Marshall University.
He had been a Huntington resident for the past five years, and was a board member of Virginia Manufactured Housing Association.
He enjoyed motorcycles, golfing and boating and was an avid outdoorsman.
Other survivors include his wife of 16 years, Susan Pachuta Quesenberry; a son, Jacob Forrest Quesenberry at home; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Quesenberry at home; two brothers, Randy Quesenberry and his wife, Debbie, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Ed Quesenberry and his wife, Natalie, of Beaver; nieces and nephews, Megan and Amber Quesenberry, Ammie Quesenberry, Luke, David, Sarah, and Joshua Canterbury, and Hannah and Nicole Pachuta.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor Greg Mullis officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends called 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Charles J. Sisson
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Charles Joseph Sisson, 32, formerly of Beckley, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at his home following a short illness.
Born Aug. 4, 1968, in Beckley, he was the son of Blaine Sissoin of White Oak, and the late Jane Wood Sisson.
Mr. Sisson was a mechanic. He was a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church.
Other survivors include his maternal grandmother, marion Patton of Charleston; a sister, Vicki Parsons and husband, Bill, of Pensacola, Fla.; two brohers, Michael Sisson and wife, Lorie, of Beckley, and Christopher Sissoin and wife, Melanie, of Shady Spring.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. John Lares officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
