Andrea L. Charlton

Andrea Leigh Mills Charlton, seven months old, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at her home.

Born Feb. 24, 2000, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Andre L. Charlton and Michael Suz-anne Epling Charlton of Beckley.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Carl Charlton; her maternal grandfather, Alfred Epling; two uncles, Randy Charlton and Carl Charlton Jr.

Other survivors include five brothers, Jared, Elijah, Andre, Christopher and Adrian; two sisters, Sequana and Shanika; maternal grandparents, Gary and Judy Mills Richmond of Daniels; paternal grandmother, Mona Sue Charlton of Charles-ton; three uncles, Ronnie Charlton of Atlanta, Cecil Charlton of Washington, D.C., and Kevin Charlton of Charleston; two aunts, Vicky Williams of Cincinnati and Nancy Vance and her husband, James, of Longview, Texas; a great-grandfather, Keyford Mills of Odd; a special cousin, Michael Emerson Jennings of Longview; and a host of cousins, famliy and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. John Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Vine Family cemetery, Odd.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Family will serve as pallbearers.

Stuart 'Brad' Davis

SCARBRO - Stuart Bradley "Brad" Davis, 31, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in an automobile accident near Hernshaw.

Born April 18, 1969, in Anderson, S.C., he was the son of J.B. Davis Jr. and Molly Evelyn Malone Davis, both of Honea Path, S.C.

At the time of his death, he was employed at Universal Coal Service as a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.B. Davis Sr. and Lois H. Davis; maternal grandfather, James D. Malone; and an uncle, Jimmy Malone.

Other survivors include his wife, Pamela Dawn Parker Davis; a daughter, Brooke Dawn Davis at home; a sister, Tracy Haley of Honea Path; two brothers, Charles Victor Davis and his wife, Donna, of Williamson, S.C., and Jeffrey Bryant Davis of Honea Path; his maternal grandmother, Louise S. Malone of Honea Path; and a niece, Jessica Haley of Honea Path.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Pentecostal Holiness Church, Honea Path, with the Rev. Ricky Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories cemetery, Belton, S.C.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path.

Also, friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at High Lawn Funeral Home, Oak Hill, where a prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m. by the Rev. Billy Lilly.

Brad's family can be reached at their home on Scarbro Road.

Bobby M. Hollandsworth

RENICK - Bobby M. Hollandsworth, 73, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg.

Clara B. Hornsby

Clara Belle Hornsby, 86, of Ghent, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at her home following a long illness.

Born Jan. 31, 1914, in Besoco, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Barbara Garretson Bolen.

Mrs. Hornsby was a home-maker and a member of the Ghent Church of God. She had made her home in the Odd and Ghent area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Hornsby; four brothers, Oran, Henry, Sank and Ralph Bolen; and two sisters, Dathnal Hornsby and Mae Black.

Survivors include four sons, Trace Hornsby and his wife, Della, of Ghent, James Hornsby and his wife, Peggy, of Woodbridge, Va., Charles Hornsby and his wife, Wally, of Flat Top and Emory Hornsby and his wife, Ann, of Union, S.C.; two daughters, Gail Dunford and her husband, Ernest, of Flat Top and Drema Nelson of Ghent; a brother, the Rev. Cecil Bolen of Coal City; two sisters, Lena Vandall of Pennsylvania and Irene Walker of Beckley; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ghent Church of God with the Revs. Otis Clyburn and Warren Cregger officiating. Burial will follow in Hannah Lilly cemetery, Odd.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Shady Spring, and one hour before services Thursday at the church.

Nephews and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Reyta P. Hutchens

Reyta Powell Underwood Hutchens, 94, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, following a long illness.

Born Aug. 31, 1906, in Church Hill, Tenn., she was the daugther of the late Hugh and Orlie Underwood.

Mrs. Hutchens moved to Old Eccles Road in Beckley in 1930, was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and a homemaker. She taught school in Tennessee before marrying.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hutchens; three brothers, Byron, Howard and Hubert Underwood; a baby sister, Edith Underwood; and a son-in-law, Robert L. Dawson.

Survivors include two sons, Afton Hutchens and his wife, Tootsie, of Chesapeake, Va., and Harold Duane Hutchens and Connie of Beckley; and a daughter, Joyce Dawson Simms of Crab Orchard. She was very proud of her 10 grandchildren, Ernie Hutchens, Danny Hutchens, Tammy Crews, Becky Hutchens, Robin Dawson, Richard Dawson, Gina Rae Searls, Carl Levoy Hutchens, Douglas Mills and Amanda Cloonan; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a very dear friend and care giver, Janie Plumley.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Ken Overdorf and Sheldon Cosma officiating. Mrs. Hutchens will be laid to rest beside her husband, Carl, at Davis Addition of Mount Tabor cemetery following the service.

Friends called 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.

Pallbearers will be Ernie Hutchens, Danny Hutchens, Richard Dawson, Carl Hutchens, Douglas Mills, Jeremy Cloonan, Larry Plumley and James "Jim Bob" Minor.

Herman Hylton, 73, of 1195 Sullivan Road, Glen Morgan, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Princeton Community Hospital.

SALEM, Va. - Julia Wilson Altizer Johnston, 93, formerly of Alderson, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Snyder Nursing Home, Salem, Va., following a long illness.

Georgia B. Neely

NAPLES, Fla. - Georgia Brown Neely, 70, formerly of Beckley, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at her home.

Born Jan. 2, 1930, in Sprague, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Cleetus Dorsey Brown.

Mrs. Neely was a homemaker and formerly employed by banks in the Keys and Naples, Fla., areas. She was a member of Sprague Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and golf, and had been a Naples resident since 1960.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Jeanette Neely.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Homer Neely; five brothers, Howard Brown and his wife, Merline, of Sprague, Harold Brown and his wife, Mary, and Jim Brown and his wife, Shirley, all of Raytown, Mo., Tom Brown and his wife, Judy, of Lone Jack, Mo., and Jerry Brown and his wife, Frances, of Naples.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Fred Lovell officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Chadrick 'Chad' Nott

ROANOKE, Va. - Chadrick David "Chad" Nott, 25, of 730 Mississippi Ave., died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at his home.

Born May 12, 1975, in Roanoke, he was the son of Richard Nott of Oxford, N.C., and Debbie (Barbara) Fox Owens of Jacksonville, Fla.

Mr. Nott had lived most of his life in Roanoke.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Mildred Fox.

Other survivors include a daughter, Aspen Renee Nott and her mother, Carolyn Ridgeway, of Vinton, Va.; stepfather, Gary Owens Sr. of Jacksonville; stepmother, Freda Nott of Oxford; paternal grandparents, Richard and Vertie Nott of Salem, Va.; three stepbrothers, Gary Owens Jr. of Lawtey, Fla., William Greer of Lexington Park, Md., and Keith Greer of Huntington, Md.; a half sister, Felicia Wentz of Roanoke; five step sisters, Christy Rouse of Blackshear, Ga., Heather Morford of Goshen, Ohio, Phyllis Beers of Frederick, Md., Patty Sue Lovell of Bristol, Tenn., and Carolyn Greer of Huntingtown, Md.; four nieces; and 12 nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with the Rev. Sam Groves officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Knob Church cemetery, Elk Knob.

Friends may call 1 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ridgeway, Chad Edwards, Will Eads, Jason Jones and Gerald and Bob Fox.
