GREEN SULPHUR SPRINGS - Billy Porter Meadows, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, in Ephrata, Pa., from a sudden heart attack.
Born May 14, 1935, at Green Sulphur Springs, he was the son of the late George Porter and Blanche Rose Rice Meadows.
Mr. Meadows was a member of the W.Va. Draft Horse and Mule Association, an annual participant of the State Fair Draft Horse Shows, and was actively involved in the draft horse industry along the Eastern Coast of the USA.
He was a member of the Sandstone Baptist Church, and an active horse trader and farmer.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maria Fox and Pansy Meadows; and five brothers, Basil, Carl, Charles, Jimmy and Jackie Meadows.
Survivors include his wife, Joledia A. Gwinn Meadows of Green Sulphur Springs; three sons, Randy Dale Meadows and wife, Ramona, Ricky Lee Meadows and his wife, Debbie, and Billy Joe Meadows and his wife, Liz, all of Green Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Margie Meadows Holland of Fayetteville, Frankie Meadows Cales of Hinton, and Ruby Meadows Gwinn of Circleville, Ohio; a brother, Earl Meadows of Lewisburg; and five grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristen, Porter and Nicholas Meadows, all of Green Sulphur Springs, and Stephanie Meadows of New Jersey.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. George Cook and the Rev. J.E. Johnson, both of Hinton, officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial cemetery, with David Daniels leading the funeral procession with his percheron horse team from Sam Black to the cemetery.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Withrow, Richie Rodes, Jason Troyer, Joe Rhodes, Travis Simons, and Paul Martin.

Charles G. Moore
Charles Gary Moore, 64, of Pax, fell asleep in the Lord at the home of his wife at Anniston, Ala., at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, following an extended illness.
Born April 6, 1936, at Packs Branch, he was the son of the late James Enoch and Essie Ellison Moore.
Mr. Moore was an EMT for Mountaineer Family Health Plan, was a retired truck driver for Cooke-Wilson Electric and had served two terms as mayor of the town of Pax. He was a member of the Pax Advent Christian Church at Pax, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and had served during the Cuban Crisis in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Alice C. Moore of Anniston, Ala.; two sons, Gary Wayne Moore and Sandy Hunter of Pax, and David Lee Moore of Pax; a daughter, Melanie Billups and Ricky of Norfolk, Va.; an uncle, Luther Jack Moore and his wife, Marguerite; an aunt, Ines Mullins and her husband, Grady, of Okeechobie, Fla.; two nephews, John Wesley Worley and his wife, Debi, of Princeton, and James Moore Worley and his wife, Allison, of Princeton; a sister, Martha Worley and her husband, John J., of Princeton; five grandchildren, Kathleen, Serenity, and Amanda Jo Moore, Christopher and Ashley Billups; and also one grandson who preceded him in death, Shaun Hunter.
Service will be 1 p.m. today at the Pax Advent Christian Church with Orville Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
Friends called 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and may call at the church one hour before the service today.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Helena F. Samples
MOUNT HOPE Helena Faulconer Samples passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Swananne Valley Nursing Center, Jasper, Fla.
Mrs. Samples resided in Mount Hope, where she owned Helena's Beauty Shop until she retired and moved to Largo, Fla. in 1970.
She was a member of the Mount Hope Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two sisters and a halfbrother; her first husband, Roy A. Faulconer Sr.; second husband, John Samples; a son, Roy A. Faulconer Jr.; and a grandson, Donald Williams.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Sands and her husband, John, Jean Williams and her husband, Ted, who was preceded; Carolyn "Tiny" Halbon and her husband, Robert; a daughter-in-law, Joan Faulconer; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Woodrow 'Doug' Starks
NORTH EAST, Md. - Woodrow "Doug" Starks, 58, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, in North East, Md.
Born July 8, 1942, at Droop, he was the son of the late Woodrow W. and Neva Mae Starks.
Mr. Starks had worked 26 years for the Dupont Company, Glasgow, Del., as a lab technician. He was a member of the Hart's United Methodist Church, North East, Md.
He was an avid sports fan, and for many years, he coached for North East Little League.
Survivors include two daughters, Dana M. Starks of North East, Md., and Kelly Beth Starks of High Point, N.C.; five daughters, Gail W. Cutlip of Droop, Judith A. Baker of Droop, Linda M. Dean of North East, Md., Sharon G. Reid of Gracey, Ky., and Brenda S. Rohrer of Stuart, Va.; and three brothers, Jerry S. Starks of Essex, Md., Charles C. Starks of North East, Md., and June Sura, Conowingo, Md.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Whiting cemetery, Droop Mountain.
There will be no visitation.

Minnie L. Fox
HINTON - Minnie Lee Fox, 98, of Barksdale, died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hinton, following a long illness.
Born June 13, 1902, in Bumpass, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester M. Schoenthal.
Mrs. Fox had lived most of her life in Summers County. She was the former owner and operator of Fox's Store at Barksdale and was a member of Brooks Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett L. Fox Sr.; a son, Emmett L. Fox Jr.; and a daughter, Maxine Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Howard C. Fox and his wife, Jo Ann, of Hinton; a daughter, Beverly Foley and her husband, Ray, of Cameron, N.C.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Fox cemetery, Brooks.

NIMITZ - Edward S. Kamensky, 86, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at a Beckley hospital following a short illness.
Born March 24, 1914, he was the son of the late Benny Bruno and Josephine Jessie Kubish Kamensky.
Mr. Kamensky was a retired coal miner and a member of St. Francis de Sales Church, Beckley.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Steploski and Rachel Wardensky; a grandson, Edward Leon Kamensky II; and a great-grandchild, Lane Edward Kamensky.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Rose Malaga Kamensky; three sons, Theodore Voroyka and his wife, Nancy, of Dublin, Va., Edward L. Kamensky and his wife, Connie, of Nimitz and David Mitchell Kamensky and his wife, Donna, of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Deloris Morton and her husband, Otis D., of Tuscon, Ariz., and Dorothy Lou Saul of Fairlawn, Va.; two sisters, Helen Frith of Kilsythe and Betty Kamensky of Oak Hill; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

William H. Loudermilk
RUPERT - William Hanley Loudermilk, 77, was called to the home of our Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, during a stay at the Beckley VA Medical Center.
Born July 22, 1923, in Clintonville, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Eva (Hayes) Loudermilk; his wife, Emma Belle (Hayslett) Loudermilk; a son-in-law, Larry Westfall; a grandson, Christopher DePhillip; four sisters, Annie Scruggs, Amanda Moody, Avis Loudermilk and Alice Loudermilk; and four brothers, Jimmy, Calvin, Grover and Amos Loudermilk.
He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, and was surrounded by many cherished friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Westfall of Virginia Beach, Va., and Pat DePhillip and her husband, Robert, of Owings, Md.; a sister, Nadine Holiday of Clintonville; three brothers, Fred Loudermilk and his wife, Faye, and Ray Loudermilk and his wife, Hattie, all of Newark, Ohio, and Alec Loudermilk of Virginia; five sisters-in-law, Cleo Loudermilk of North Muskegon, Mich., Betty Loudermilk of Newark, Ethel Piercy and June Holland, both of Lewisburg, and Violet O'Neil and her husband, Joe, of Baltimore; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Leroy Crane and Brother Mark Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise cemetery, Clintonville.
