Beulah Elaine Collins

Beulah Elaine Collins, 73, our loving mother , grandmother, sister and friend passed away at her home on Fenwick Mountain on June 25, 2006. She was born on Jan. 19, 1933, at Saxman, W.Va.

Beaut, as her friends called her, was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Eldon; her parents, Glenn and Myrtle Seabolt; a sister, Mildred Roby; and a brother, Ronald Seabolt.

She taught school at Nixon, Carl Grade, Little Laurel, the old and New Hope Grade School, and adult basic education at Canvas. Leaving the field of education, she later went to work at the Richwood Pack Rat, Montgomery Ward, and JC Penneys. Beaut was an active member of the Macedonia Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a willing worker, loving friend, and will be a great addition to singing in the Heavenly Choir.

She was a devoted and wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by a son, Eldon Collins Jr. (Bub) and wife, Lora, of Canvas; a daughter, Ginger, at home, and daughter, Shelley and husband, Willie Boyce, of Fenwick Mountain. Her grandchildren include: Ellisha Little of Allen Park, Mich., Eldon Jerome Collins III (Jeremy) of Athens, Nikki and husband, Doug Crites, of Erbacon, Preston Boyce stationed at Hurlburt Field, Fla., Tristan Boyce resident at Concord University in Athens, Felicia Tucker and Harminie Collins, both of Canvas and a special niece, Spring and husband, Eric Blankenship, of Eleanor, W.Va.

She is also survived by brothers, Joey Seabolt of Craigsville, Freddie and wife, Karen, of Canvas, and Glenn Jr. and wife, Eula, of Belton, S.C.; sisters include, Kandy and husband, Mike Hicks, of Fenwick Mountain, Karen and husband, Don Peyton, of Port Richie, Fla., Leona Bramble of Ocean City, Md., Helen and husband, Norbert Muckelbauer, of Silver Spring, Md. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Beulah’s Home Health nurses and aides; to Doctor Trenbath, Dr. Judy Spencer, and all of their therapists.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Macedonia Memorial United Methodist Church at Fenwick Mountain with the Rev. Harold Duskey officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins-Spencer cemetery, Fenwick Mountain.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Macedonia Memorial United Methodist Church Piano Fund, c/o Shelley Boyce, 2879 Nettie Fenwick Road, Fenwick, WV 26202.

Porfirio ‘Perry’ Galapon, M.D.

Porfirio “Perry” Aguinaldo Galapon, M.D., of Daniels, passed from this life into eternal life on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at his home.

Born on Nov. 4, 1934, he was the son of the late Thomas and Gabina Aguinaldo Galapon of the Philippines. He was also preceded in death by a son, Homer Obar Galapon, in 1989; and his father-in-law, Glenn Sanders, in January of 1989.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Pamela Sanders Galapon; sons, Philip Andrew Galapon and his wife, Maggie, of Huntington, and Patrick Anthony Galapon of Daniels; Lorelei O. Galapon; Ferdinand O. Galapon, Geraldine O. Galapon, Arleen O. Galapon and Clarissa O. Galapon of the Philippines. Also a granddaughter, Alexandra Galapon of the Philippines. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Eva Sanders of Ghent; brother-in-law, Gregory G. Sanders also of Ghent; sister-in-law, Lori Acord and her husband, Clifford Acord, of Kopperston; niece, Jessica Crouse and her husband, Bobby, of Lynco; nephew, Joseph Jude and his wife, Faith, of Petersburg, Va., Kristie McKenzie and her husband, Maurice, and Kaula Acord of Kopperston; great-nieces and great-nephews, Rebecca Jude and Courtney Jude of Petersburg, Va., and Francis Maurice McKenzie of Kopperston and Zackery Seth Crouse of Lynco, as well as many friends and his special friend, his pet “Ollie.”

Dr. Galapon had practiced medicine in Raleigh County for 22 years at Shady Spring medical Center. He was a member of the Raleigh County Medical Society, American Academy of Family Practice and the WV Academy of Family Practice. He was a graduate of Manila Central University in the Philippines. He served as a Medical Officer in the World Health Organization before coming to the United States.

He was also a member of Maxwell Hill Baptist Church. His passion in life was his love of God, his family and fellow man. He was always ready to share the “Good News” to anyone who would listen.

A celebration of his “going home” will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church in Beckley with Pastor Ken Killen, Pastor George Garner and Pastor Fred Seavers officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, 301 Teel Rd., Beckley, after 5 p.m. today, and two hours prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be George Morgan, Dr. Teodoro “Ted” Jimenez, Dr. Cordell Honrado, Dr. Joel Romero, Dr. Ciriaco “Jack” Mundoza and Dr. Generoso Blando.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Raleigh County Medical Society.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, Tenn., 37214-0800 or to the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church Missions Fund.

Patricia Ann Haga

VENTURA, Calif. — Patricia Ann Haga, 71, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Ventura, after a sudden illness.

She was born May 9, 1935, in Helen, West Virgina, and was a 30-year Ventura County, CA resident.

She was employed in medical billing at various healthcare facilities for over 40 years, retiring in 2003.

She was a longtime member of the College United Methodist Church in Ventura and enjoyed sewing, dealing in real estate, singing, collecting dolls and spending time with her dear family.

She is survived by her fiancée, Ray Gossard; daughter, Crystal Ball, of Overland Park, Kan.; daughter and son-in-law, Melody Young and Ben Willis, of Ventura; son, Gaylend Ball, of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; brothers, David and John Haga, of Arizona; three grandsons; two granddaughters and one great- grandson.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 26, 2006, 2 p.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura, The Reverend Jonathan Mulford, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home & Crematory, Ventura.

Clarence F. Osborne

SILVER SPRING, Md. — Clarence F. Osborne, 76, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at his home.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wallace Memorial cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pumphrey’s Colonial Funeral Home of Rockville, Md.

Walter T. ‘Pete’ Shrader

PRINCETON — Walter T. “Pete” Shrader, 72, died Saturday, June 24, 2006.

Service will be 11 a.m. today at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home, Princeton. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of the service today at the funeral home.

Maycle O. Adkins Payne Triebenbach

Maycle O. Adkins Payne Triebenbach, 85, of Cool Ridge, died 10:44 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006, in the Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley following a short illness.

Born March 8, 1921, at New River Road, Raleigh County, she was a daughter of the late Silas A. and Lottie Belle Bennett Adkins.

She had lived most of her life in Raleigh County and was a former employee of Beckley Manufacturing and the Raleigh County Board of Education and a member of the Mt. Olivet Church at Hinton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Watts Payne.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenna Hammack and husband, Michael, of Lynchburg, Va., and Shirley Perkins and husband, Russell, of Crab Orchard; five grandchildren, Cheryl Mercadante and husband, Michael, of Eccles, Phillip Shelton of Tennessee, Stephen Perkins and wife, Amanda, of Flagstaff, Ariz., Brian Perkins of Blacksburg, Va., and Jennifer Thomas and husband, Leon, of Bradenton, Fla.; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, May Woods of Meadow Creek, Elva Boinoyvich of Elkton, Md., Listina Harvey of White Oak, Lena Meadows of Shady Spring and Grace Meadows of Shady Spring; a brother, Rossy “Ross” Adkins of Elkton, Md.

Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor William Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Silas Adkins Family cemetery.

Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of the service Thursday.

Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Marie Bailey

Marie Bailey passed away suddenly May 22 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.

Proverbs 31:10-30 describes Marie's Christian life as a homemaker with many talents and much creativity. It was her desire that everyone in her family know that Jesus Christ provided eternal life for them by dying on the cross. She was happiest when providing a play place for her great-grandsons and their friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. E.I. and Lucinda Emily Hill of Keyrock; sisters, Myrtle Goddard and Ella Brooks; and brothers, Clair, Ivan, Ralph, Lanta, E.I. Jr., Edwin and Buren.

In December she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Bailey.

She is survived by daughter, Emily Ann Bailey, granddaughter, Jeanne Marie, and son-in-law, Phillip Michael Hamad II; great-grandsons, Jonathan McGill and Phillip Michael Hamad III; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Marie Hamad.

Marie is also survived by dearly beloved brothers, Carmel and wife, Beulah, of Pineville and Joe Hill and wife, Peggy, of Mullens; and a sister, Ruth Sanford of Fraziers Bottom.

When she was greeted in her heavenly home we believe the Lord said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Neta Irene Capps

Neta Irene Pym Capps, 78, of Beckley, formerly of Greenville, S.C., went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2003, following a long illness. She died at her home with her family by her side.

Born Aug. 9, 1924, in Greenville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Edward Earl Pym and Nannie Tibbs Pym Prater.

Mrs. Capps was a homemaker and had assisted her husband as a bookkeeper with his business. She was of the Baptist faith.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, the Rev. Earl Milton Pym; and her sister, Sarah Pym.

She was the wife of Billy Capps of Beckley and the loving mother of Linda C. Landry of Jeanerette, La., Howard Billy Capps of St. Augustine, Fla., Nancy Allene Capps of Charleston and Kevin E. Capps of Beckley. She is also survived by a sister, Neva McGaha of Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, 6710 White Horse Road, Greenville, S.C. Burial will follow at Graceland cemetery, Greenville.

The family will receive friends 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802, in memory of Mrs. Capps.

ATHENS - Nancy Carolyn Farley Reed Elmore, 67, of 216 Caldwell St., Athens, died Saturday, June 21, 2003.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Concord United Methodist Church, Athens. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home, Princeton, and one hour before service Monday at the church.

Lorena Virginia Farley

CAMP CREEK - Lorena Virginia Farley, 89, of 150 Eagle Crest Road, Camp Creek, died peacefully Friday evening, June 20, 2003, at her home with many members of her family surrounding her.

Born April 17, 1914, at Camp Creek, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Nevada Maxey Epling.

She was educated in Mercer County, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and homemaker. Mrs. Farley was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Farley's life was devoted to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Farley; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Ellison and James Meadows; along with several brothers and sisters, Alda Epling, Zola Setliff, James Epling, Freddy Epling, Dacy "Bart" Epling, Emil Ep-ling and Luster Epling.

Left to cherish her memory, her loving and caring children, Fredrick K. Farley of Princeton, Buddy Lee Farley and wife, Phyllis, of Beckley, Cecil Blake Farley and wife, Sue, of Cool Ridge, Roger P. Farley and wife, Linda, of Camp Creek, Lola Meadows of Summersville, Betty Rowland and husband, Don, of Chesapeake, Va., Norma Farley, Patty Ellison, Rhonda Dobbins and husband, Charles, all of Camp Creek, Trudy Ellison and husband John, Marcia Bishop and husband, Roger, and Pamela Bel-cher and husband, Bill, all of Princeton; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carla Farley of Titusville, Fla., and Leota Vandall of Meadow Bridge; and a brother, Deward Epling of Camp Creek.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory, Athens Road, Princeton, with Rev. Jack Barber officiating. Burial will follow in Farley Family cemetery, Camp Creek.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
