Phyllis Reed Coffman

HINTON — Phyllis Reed Coffman, 50, of Madams Creek, Hinton, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at her home following an extended illness.

Born July 31, 1955, in Hinton, she was a daughter of Talmadge Reed of Madams Creek, Hinton, and the late Edna Lilly Reed.

Phyllis was a former receptionist and personal secretary to Dr. C.P. Sharma. She had worked for a short time as secretary of First Presbyterian Church at Hinton, and most recently had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Stanley T. Day. She was a graduate of Hinton High School, Class of 1973, attended Bellepoint Baptist Church in Hinton, where she was involved with the youth as pianist and formerly helped with the church newsletter.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Reed.

Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Paul Coffman; a daughter, Kristen Coffman Boothe and husband, Dan, of Beaver; two sons, Keith Coffman of Beckley and Cody Coffman, a student at High Point University at High Point, N.C.; two grandsons, Travis and Alex Boothe; two brothers, Kenneth Reed and wife, Darlene, of Wise, Va., and Robert Reed and wife, Linda, of Madams Creek, Hinton.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Vondie Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Frank Wheby, Jack Hartwell, Dickie Cook, Buck Meadows, Mason Jones and Mike Wood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to “The Walk For Her Lifetime,” c/o Margie Temple, Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, P.O. Box 940, Hinton, WV 25951.

Virginia Lee Eichhorn

Virginia Lee Eichhorn, 79, of Beckley, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at the home of her son following a long illness.

Marlin Keaton

JUMPING BRANCH — Marlin Ray “Mickey” Keaton, 62, of Jumping Branch, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Princeton Community Hospital following a short illness.

Born Feb. 7, 1943, at Pipestem, he was the son of the late Norvell J. and Elizabeth Hopkins Keat-on.

Mr. Keaton was a retired metal inspector for General Motors Corp. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, and served on the CAP committee for the UAW. He was a Protestant and attended Pipestem Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Ray Keaton; six brothers, Herman B., Harry, Harold, Norvell Jr., Arnold J. and Emory Lee Keaton; and a sister, Sara Keaton.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Mosely Keaton; four daughters, Cathy R. Keaton-Minock of Jacksonville, Fla., Tina Main of Galion, Ohio, Jennifer Marie Keaton of Columbus, Ohio, and Angelia Marlene Keaton of Jumping Branch; two brothers, Patrick Keaton of Jumping Branch and Charles Keaton of Princeton; two sisters, Colleen Minton of Jumping Branch and Mary Lambert of Flint, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren, Justin Colliver, Ryan Kania, Jordan Main, Blake Keaton, Reagan Main, Gage Stemple, Keagan Hartwell, Jada Keaton, Saylor Minock and Ethan Craighead.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastors Bobby and Dana Hambrick officiating. Burial will follow in Keaton cemetery, Pipestem.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Nephews and cousins will serve as pallbearers.

Stanley M. Leist

LEWISBURG — Stanley M. Leist, 75, of Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Genesis Family Care Center in White Sulphur Springs.

Mr. Leist was born July 15, 1930, in Ronceverte, and was the son of the late Philip and Marie Orndorf Leist.

He was a member of Ronceverte Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Marshall University. Mr. Leist served with the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper and owned and operated Greenbrier Valley Aviation Charter Service at Greenbrier Valley Airport in Lewisburg.

Survivors include his brother, William Leist and his wife, JoAnn, of Ashboro, N.C.; six nieces and nephews, Kimberly Curry, Rebecca Curry, Jonathan Curry, Philip Leist, Paige Tolar and Nathan Leist; and a brother-in-law, Ken Barnett of Ronceverte.

Service will be 3:30 p.m. today at Ronceverte Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dexter Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview cemetery, Ronceverte.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until time of service today at the church.

Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Ronceverte, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Mullins

HINTON — Robert H. Mullins, 85, of 269 Main St., Hinton, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, following a long illness.

Born Aug. 9, 1920, in Hinton, he was the son of the late Elbert T. and Gertrude Arthur Mullins.

Mr. Mullins was the former owner of Bob’s Shoe Repair in Hinton, and was a retired employee of the State of West Virginia. He had lived all of his life in Hinton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Wood Mullins.

Survivors include a son, Gerald Mullins of Hinton; a daughter, Paula Blevins of Bluefield; former wife and friend, Violet Mullins of Hilldale; a brother, Elbert Mullins of Texas; close family friends, Randall Blevins of Camp Creek and Sue Farmer of Princeton; and pet cat, Calico.

Graveside service and burial will be 3 p.m. Monday at Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton, with Chaplain Jennings Angell officiating.

Friends may call 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton.

Bernard Reynolds

ROCK — Bernard Harry Reynolds, 57, of Wright Mountain Road, Rock, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005.

Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Monday at Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home, Princeton. Friends may call 5 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Home Society, 1605 Honaker Ave., Princeton, WV 24740.

Ruby P. Schrader

MOUNT HOPE — Ruby P. Schrader, 61, of Mount Hope, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2005.

Ruby was born Dec. 10, 1943, in Webster County, the daughter of the late George Hall and the late Ada Fisher.

Other than her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Okey Dale Schrader Sr., in 1989; and her stepson, Okey Dale Schrader, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Nancy Hull of Mount Hope and Glady Dech and husband, Mitchell, of Mount Hope; four sons, Timothy and wife, Sharon Schrader, of Medina, Ohio, Henry Schrader of Mount Hope, James Schrader of Mount Hope and George Schrader and wife, Michelle, of Inwood; grandchildren, Casey Schrader, Dale Hull, Brian Hull, Sarah Schrader, Jesse Dech and Jaalah Dech; great-grandchildren, Dallas Gardener and Danielle Hull; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Douglas Weidensall officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, is serving the family.

Ruby Marie Bowles

HINTON — Ruby Marie Bowles, 85, of Hinton, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at the Summers County Continuous Care Center at Hilldale, following a long illness.

Born May 14, 1920, at Judson, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary Estella Skaggs Williams.

Mrs. Bowles had lived most of her life in Summers County. She had lived several years in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was a retired cook at the Jones Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer E. Bowles; three sons, Arnold, Marion, and James Bowles; two daughters, Charlotte and Diane Cales; one great-grandson, Ronnie Dean Cales; nine brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell Bowles of Ballard and Kennard Bowles of Macedonia, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton, with Pastor Travis Hocum officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams cemetery at Tempa.

Friends may call at the funeral parlors from 11 a.m. until funeral time on Tuesday.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.

Virginia Woods ‘Hallie’ Coleman

DUNMORE — Virginia Woods “Hallie” Coleman, 82, of Dunmore, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2005.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret Adair Cook

BASIN — Margaret Adair Cook, 88, of Basin, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in a Princeton hospital, following a long illness.

Virginia Lee Eichhorn

Virginia Lee Eichhorn, 79, of 401 Stanley St., Beckley, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at the home of her son, following a long illness.

Born at Backus Mountain on Nov. 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Annie Harrah.

Mrs. Eichhorn was a homemaker, and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Beckley.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Hickman; her second husband, Clark Eichhorn; a son, Larry Hickman; brothers, James, Ralph, Wilmer, and Kenny Harrah; and a sister, Thelma Foster.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Hickman and wife Patricia of Crab Orchard; a sister, Kathleen Ruth of Mabscott; four grandchildren, Larry D. Hickman, Teresa Brooks, Paula Shrewsbury, and Larry Andrew Thomas Hickman; and five great-grandchildren, Sidney, Bailey, Madison, Haley, and Ethan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, with Rev. David Chrisman officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity.

Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Hickman, Chuck Blake, Keith Foster, Billy Scott, and Sgt. Larry Hickman.
