HILLTOP — Sheryl Ann Painter Miller, 49, died Friday, April 7, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Born Sept. 8, 1956, at Oak Hill, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ray and Florence Alice Williamson Painter.
Mrs. Miller was a hospital dietary worker.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Dino Ellison; a son, Randy Painter and wife, Kelly, of Colorado Springs; two sisters, Colleen Pennington and husband, Russell, of Oak Hill and Debbie Clark and husband, Ken, of Cocoa, Fla.; two brothers, Jerry “Butch” Painter of Mooresville, N.C., and Tolbert “Toby” Painter and wife, Tammy, of Sissonville; and a grandchild, Becca Painter.
Service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Timothy Paul Morgan
ROCKHOUSE — Timothy Paul Morgan, 45, of Rockhouse, near Baileysville, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Logan Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Born Dec. 14, 1960, at Iaeger, he was the son of Hazel Cline Morgan of Long Branch and the late Raymond Morgan.
Other than his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Gay Morgan; a brother, Clyde Earl Morgan; and a grandchild, Adrian Frye.
He was an employee of Rock Spring Development Coal Co., a member of the Southern Coalfield Rescue Team and was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, Hazel Cline Morgan of Long Branch, he is survived by his wife, Dora Jane Dingiss Morgan of Lynco; his daughter, Tonya Frye of Chapmanville; his son, Timothy Keith Morgan of Chapmanville; two sisters, Sharon Hatfield of Browning Fork and Rose Mary Morgan of Simon; three brothers, Larry Morgan of Coal Mountain, Mark Morgan of Simon and Michael of Simon; five grandchildren; and his companion, Erin Johnston of Rockhouse, and his dog, Beethoven.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Blankenship and the Rev. Ferg Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow in Milty Morgan cemetery, Josh Fork at Long Branch.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.
Friends of the family will be received after 6 p.m. today and throughout the following day at the church.

N. Randy Phelps
GALVESTON, Texas — N. Randy Phelps passed from our world on Friday, March 31, 2006, at the age of 65.
Born Nov. 7, 1940, at Dorothy, he was the son of the late Inie and Cora Mae Phelps, who were formerly of Ameagle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sgt. Marion David Phelps, killed in France.
Randy was a 1958 graduate of Van High School. He served his country, retiring from the U.S. Air Force and followed that service with a successful career at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, in the research department. Upon his second retirement and following his love of the outdoors, he and his wife, Mary Anne, became hosts for the Cradle of Forestry where they enjoyed fishing, meeting guests and having their family to camp with them.
Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Anne Phelps; his children, Todd Phelps and his wife, Cassie, of Galveston and Monica Pickthall and her husband, Tom, of Galveston. Sharing many memories are his grandchildren, Savannah, Kasey, Darby, Travis, Joey and Andy, all of Galveston. Included in his survivors are his sister, Ina Mae Painter of Alderson and his brother-in-law, Damond Brumfield and his wife, Velma, of Alvon, Texas. Many relatives and friends will miss his presence.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be shared by family and friends at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at Mountain View Methodist Church, Muddy Creek Mountain, Alderson, with the Rev. Von Sadler officiating.

RONCEVERTE — Martha A. Burns Ramsey, 76, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2005, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 5, 1929, at Fort Spring to the late Clark and Mary Carter Burns.
Martha was a member of Ronceverte Christian Church and was retired from ABB.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy M. Ramsey, in 1982; a brother, Charles Burns; and a sister, Lucille Brooks.
Survivors include a son, Billy C. Ramsey and wife, Cheryl, of Ronceverte; two sisters, Margaret Massey of Fort Spring and Dolly Waid of South Hill, Va.; a brother, William Houston Burns of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a grandchild, Angie Surbaugh and husband, Terry, of Clintonville; and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Lauren Surbaugh.

PRINCETON — Eric Charles Shrewsbury, 23, of Gardner Road, Princeton, died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at his residence.
Born July 5, 1982, at Princeton, he was the son of Pamela Mills Lester of Bud and Charles Vinson Shrewsbury and stepmother, Tammy, of Kegley.
He was employed as a tree trimmer.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Adam Shrewsbury of Kegley and Lester Shrewsbury of Bud; a sister, Erica Charlotte Meadows of Spanishburg; two half brothers, Charles Vincent Shrewsbury and Nathan Orville Shrewsbury, both of Roanoke, Va.; a half sister, Teshea Meadows of Lashmeet; and maternal grandmother, Betty O’Neal and husband, Charlie, of Bud.

Floyd ‘Bucky’ Adkins
Floyd “Bucky” Adkins, 64, of Mabscott, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in a Beckley hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1942, he was the son of the late Floyd and Thelma Starr Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was a coal miner for five years, and an automotive repair technician for many years.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice Wolf Adkins; a daughter, Robin Walton and her husband, Doug, of Bradley; a son, Allen Adkins and his wife, Donna, of Beckley; a brother, Paul Adkins of Maryland; two sisters, Barbara McGrady of Sprague and Mary Crawford of Beckley; a grandson, Tyler Walton of Bradley; and a granddaughter, Adrianna Adkins of Beckley.

HINTON — Charles M. Bailey, 70, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in Summers County ARH Hospital following a long illness.
Born May 9, 1935, at Hix, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Nannie Ann Gussoe Bailey.
Mr. Bailey was a former factory worker in Rochester, N.Y., and had lived in Hinton for the last several years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bailey; a son, Charles Maxwell Bailey Jr. of Florida; a daughter, Cindy Lasler of Hornell, N.Y.; two uncles, Harold Bragg of Hinton and Howard Bragg of Crab Orchard; an aunt, Virginia Lawson of Beckley; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Ronald Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Bragg cemetery, Hix.

Tracy L. Cummings Sr.
OAK HILL — Tracy L. Cummings Sr. (CB handle, Nite Train), 63, of Highland Avenue, Oak Hill, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Friday, April 7, 2006, at his home with his loving family at his side.
Born Dec. 19, 1942, at Summerlee, he was the son of the late Basil Cummings and Margaret Tredway Cummings.
Tracy was a truck driver for the past 30 years, having worked for W.W. Boxley Trucking, Brownies Trucking of Beckley and Lambs Concrete in Oak Hill. He was a very loving and caring husband, and father to his family all his life.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gary “Tojoe” Lambert and Gregory “Stringbean” Lambert.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Cummings; a son, Rick Lambert and wife, Brenda, of Fayetteville; two daughters, Barbara Oritz and husband, Raymond, of Scarbro and Tonya Straitiff and husband, Darwin, of Uniontown, Pa.; a brother, Paul E. Cummings of Oak Hill; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Alfred “Skip” Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. By Tracy’s wishes, his body will be cremated.

Born Feb. 16, 1945, at Lochgelly, she was the daughter of the late Richard Thomas and Effie Lee Yarber Carter.
Deanna was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at Midway and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Denzyle Carter.
Survivors include her husband, John Edward Davis; a son, Kevin Edward Davis and fiancee, Candy, of Chesapeake, Ohio; six sisters, Priscilla Renick of Oak Hill, Norma Patrick of Teays Valley, Alma Lee Goins of Spencer, Ohio, Ruth Cavender of Atlanta, Ga., Mary Ellen Kincaid of Alexandria, Va., and Gloria Jean Pack of Mayfield, Ky.; a brother, Marion “Mac” Carter of Aurora, Colo.; four grandsons, Andrew Davis, Billy, Chris and Scott, all of Chesapeake; mother-in-law, Anna Davis of Lochgelly; and special nephew, Ricky Worlledge.
