OAK HILL — Sybil Joan Taylor Mankin, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2006.
She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Taylor and Opal (James) Taylor.
Sybil enjoyed collecting angels, camping, cooking and fishing. She also enjoyed country music and travel. She was a member of the Prayer Baptist Church.
Sybil was preceded in death by a son, Sparky Mankin, along with her parents, Opal and Lonnie Taylor.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robla G. Mankin Jr. of Oak Hill; daughter, Robin Raven and soon-to-be husband, Billy Howell of Dayton, Tenn.; a sister, Agnes Collett of Mt. Nebo; nephew, Tom Harlan; niece, Sybil McCue; cousins, Marty Angel, Billy Angel and Fonda Hoffstetler; and an aunt, Mildred Payne.
Service will be 3 p.m. today at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.
Visitation will be one hour before the service today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buren Payne, Pat Payne and friends and family.

Florence Stidham
ST. ALBANS — Florence Stidham, 86, formerly of Itmann, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Country Roads Assisted Living in St. Albans.
Born Jan. 6, 1920, in Pound, Va., she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Mary Jane Gibson Bolling.
Mrs. Stidham was a homemaker, had been a 45-year resident of Itmann prior to moving to St. Albans, was a member of the Itmann United Methodist Church, and was a former employee of Martin’s Jewelry Store.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Garvie L. Stidham; a son, Larry E. Stidham; a sister, Flora Mullins; and a brother, C.O. Bolling.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Charis Parr and her husband, Gene, of Roanoke, Va.; two brothers, her twin brother, Lawrence Bolling, and Carl Bolling and his wife, Barbara, all of Wise, Va.; four grandchildren, Tara Morton and her husband, Darrel, of Knob Noster, Mo., Cara Bennett and her husband, Brian, of Red House, Va., Michael Parr and his wife, Tammy, of Roanoke, Va., and Jane Clark of Cross Lanes; and nine great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Itmann United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Reedy officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may call one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Robert Allen Stumpf, 53, of Pensacola, Fla., died Wednesday, May 3, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Caves Blake Stumpf and Will-iam Francis Stumpf.
He is survived by a son, Robert Stumpf and daughter, Carrie Bell of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren; brother, William Stumpf of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Madeline Riser of Baltimore, Md.; beloved half brother, Leaborn (Pete) Blake and wife, JoAnn, of Beckley; half sisters, Beatrice Blake Farley of Beckley, and Barbara Blake Currier of Bowie, Md; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces; and loving care givers Brenda and Woody Yohan of Pensacola, Fla.
Service will be 11 a.m. today, May 9, 2006, at the Trahan Family Funeral Home, 430 Beverly Pkwy, Pensacola, Fla.

Barbara Carol Wills
HICO — Barbara Carol Wills, 68, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, after a sudden illness.
She was born Dec. 11, 1937, at St. Albans, to the late Willa Barbour Estler and Paul White.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Wills; and her former husband and long time companion, Keith P. Thomas.
Barbara was retired after 30 years of employment with the Fayette County Health Department and she continued to work part time for the health department and as a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Mark White of Fayetteville. She was an avid gardener and devoted pet owner.
Barbara’s memory will be cherished by her children and their families: Kevin R. and Carolyn Thomas of Bowling Green, Ky., Valerie and Jay Frankel of Knoxville, Tenn., Keith A. Thomas of Clarksville, Tenn., and Laura Allyson Rogers of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren and siblings, Paige Bridges of Wills Point, Texas, Tyler Estler of Adams-town, Md., and David Estler of Irvin, Texas.
Barbara was a CORE donor.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Restlawn Memory Gardens at Victor, with the Rev. Roy Crist officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.

Cellise Rene Antoine
Cellise Rene Antoine, 2 months and 9 days, of Beckley, left us to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2006.
Born Feb. 27, 2006, she was the daughter of Jeffrey Antoine and Crystal Perea.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her parents, Jeffrey and Crystal; her paternal grandparents, James and Dianna Antoine of Beckley, Ernie Perea of San Diego, Calif., and Tina Piccolo of San Diego; seven uncles, four aunts, two cousins, 10 great-grandparents and many other family members and friends.
Service will be 6 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at First Church of God, 2809 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, with Pastor Vondie Cook residing.

Sandra Dee Beckett, 49, of 102 Emerald Court, Beckley, died Sunday, May 7, 2006.
She was born in California on Nov. 5, 1956, to Margie A. Gunnoe Stone of Florida and the late Carl E. Stone.
Mrs. Beckett was a homemaker.
Other survivors besides her mother include a son, Samuel R. Houston IV of Beckley; a daughter, Wendie W. Houston of Beckley; a brother, Gene Stone of New York; a sister, Carol Sanbouf of New York; and a grandchild, Jazmyne Starr Dunbar.

INDIANAPOLIS — Christopher Alan Cline, 41, formerly of Pineville and Dothan, Ala., passed away Saturday, May 6, 2006, at his home in Indianapolis.
He was born May 20, 1964, at Tachikawa Air Force Base, Japan.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, A.G. “Bruz” and Addie Cline of Pineville; his maternal grandfather, Olden Hebert of Franklin, La.; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Schwarz Cline; his parents, Gerald David and Loretta Hebert Cline of Dothan; his brother, Steven Cline of Duluth, Ga.; and his maternal grandmother, Anna Hebert of Franklin.
Private service will be held in Pineville.

JUMPING BRANCH — Vonnie L. Hatfield, 73, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006, at her home following a long illness.
Born July 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Corda Smith Browning.
Mrs. Hatfield was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Hatfield.
Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda Thomas and husband, Howard Thomas, of Bean Station, Tenn.; a son, Gregory Hatfield and wife, Anice, of Ballard; grandsons, Geoffrey Hatfield and Joshua Hatfield; two stepgranddaughters, Melanie Kozak and Theresa Hawkins; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Hatfield, Matthew Thomas Hatfield, Lyndsay Hatfield, Lauryn Hatfield and Miranda Purdue; sisters, Romanie Sexton and husband, Jim, of Loraine, Ohio, Peg Williams and husband, Jim, of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Norma Jude and Faye Browning of Justice; and two brothers, Bill Browning of Tennessee and Mason Browning of Logan.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel with the Revs. James Cox and Paul Lusk officiating. Music will be provided by the Rev. Larry and Sister Greta Bolen. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Evelyn Virginia Hill
MORGANTON, N.C. — Evelyn Virginia Hill, 89, formerly of Helen, MacArthur and Princeton, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at home in Morganton, where she resided with her granddaughter, Sharon Bollinger, and family.
Mrs. Hill was born in Monticello, Ga., to the late William Speir and Ruby Speir Burroughs.
She was a retired LPN and an honorary member of Community Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her daughter, Dreama Norris, and grandson, Richard Norris.
She is survived by a son, Fred Earl Hill and wife, Patsy, of Jumping Branch; three daughters, Pauline Boyle and husband, Ed, of Fairfax, Va., Emma Carrera and husband, George, of Dover, Fla., and Cecelia Feeley of Clearwater, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Community Baptist Church on St. Mary’s Church Road, Morganton, with the Rev. Billy Bollinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
