PETERSTOWN — Connie June Frazier, 56, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown. Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Michael Ray Jones

ALDERSON — Michael Ray Jones, 45, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jessie M. Lambert

ASHLAND, Ky. — Jessie M. Lambert, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Kingsbrook Life Care Center in Ashland.

Born Feb. 12, 1924, in Washington, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Myrtle Teeter Dunbar.

Mrs. Lambert was self-employed and part owner of Lambert Transfer Moving and Storage Co., and was of the Protestant Baptist faith.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her children’s father, Howard E. Lambert Sr.; a son, Howard E. Lambert Jr.; a grandson, Buddy Ellison; and a son-in-law, Harry “Buddy” Ellison Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Paul) Grant of Russell, Ky., and Sue Lambert of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Glen Dunbar of Florida; three sisters, Ruth M. Fuhr and Kay Weidner of Iowa and Shirley Maxwell of Nebraska; three grandchildren, Shannon (Don) Weller, Erin Grant and Linda (Mark) Light; and a daughter-in-law, Pam Garretson.

Service will be noon Saturday at Carman Funeral Home, Flatwoods, Ky., with Chaplain Phillip Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods.

Friends may call one hour before service Saturday at the funeral home.

Samuel McCray

Samuel McCray, 79, of 207 Ninth St., Beckley, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.

Born July 21, 1927, in Augusta, Ga., he was the son of the late Ray McCray and Pearl McCray.

Mr. McCray was a retired contractor and miner, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Matthew AME Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, member of the Trustee and Steward Board, and former employee at Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter, Elisa Childress.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Benbow McCray; a daughter, Agnes (Marvin) Breckenridge of Detroit, Mich.; a son, Ronald (Peggy) McCray of Beckley; grandchildren, Kyra (Nakia) Dexter of Southfield, Mich., Marvin Breckenridge II of Detroit and Simone McCray of Bronx, N.Y.; a great-nephew, Scott Deweese; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, at St. Matthew AME Church, 103 Mills Ave., Beckley, with the Rev. Abner Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour before service Sunday at the church.

Services entrusted to Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor, Beckley.

Mary L. Morris

VICTOR — Mary L. Morris, 69, passed away at her residence Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, following a long illness.

Mary was born Dec. 6, 1937, at Ansted. She was a daughter of the late Hansford H. Pinkelton and Elsie Richmond Pinkelton.

She was a member of Beacon Baptist Church of An-sted and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, James W. Morris; sons, David of Raleigh, N.C., and William of Victor; granddaughters, Bobbie Jo and husband, Gary Cole Jr., Kandi and husband, Eric Orozco, and Melinda and husband, Eric Underwood; great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Austin Tyree, Chryssa Cole, Amy Cole, Nate Orozco, Justin Underwood and Joshua Underwood; brother, H.H. Pinkelton and wife, Wanda, and their children, Danny and Dawn; and sister, Martha and her husband, Tommy White, and their children, Debbie, Steve, Chuck, Linda and Chance.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted. Burial will follow in Westlake cemetery, Ansted.

Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. There will be no evening visitation.

Catherine W. Pyne

FAIRLEA — Catherine W. Pyne, 78, of 130 E. Fair St., died Jan. 1, 2007, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

Born Aug. 28, 1928, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late William and Lydia Weikle Wickline.

Catherine was an avid bowler when she lived in Hamilton, Ohio, and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and attending the Thursday night dances at the Lindside Senior Citizen Center. She was a member of Fairlea Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and was a member of Senior Friends at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Dixon, and a brother, William D. Wickline Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Jim Pyne; her only child, Brenda Dixon Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio; a grandchild, Becky Stephenson, and a great-grandchild, Ian Witt, both of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Irma and her husband, Estil Taylor, of Peterstown; two brothers, Pat and wife, Bonnie Wickline, of Wikel and Bob and wife, Susie Wickline, of Lindside; nine stepchildren, Larry Pyne of Caldwell, James Micheal, Gary and Barry Pyne, all of Fairlea, Timothy Pyne of Ronceverte, Cheryl Pyne of Lewisburg, Janet Shelton and Donna Hoke, both of Fairlea, and Drema Kirk of Ronceverte.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wickline Funeral Home, Lindside, with Pastor Calvin Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill cemetery, Union.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairlea ARP Church, 228 Seneca Trail, Fairlea, W.Va. 24901.

Jerry Lee Toler

BRUNO — Jerry Lee Toler, 54, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bruno Church of God. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

James Leo Winfrey

WILLIAMSBURG — James Leo Winfrey, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home, Fairlea, after a long illness.

Born March 15, 1922, at Williamsburg, he was the son of the late George L. and Fernandis V. Winfrey and brother of the late Marvin Winfrey. He was a member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Winfrey was the postmaster at the Williamsburg Post Office from 1958 until his retirement in 1980. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, and had remained a faithful member of the American Legion.

He is survived by two nieces, Victoria Anthony of Soutland, Mo., and Sharon Winfrey of Baltimore, Md. There are many cousins, including Marjorie Workman of Cornstalk and Faye Eggleston Beard of Temple Hills, Md., who was raised with James by his parents on their farm.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, Williamsburg, with the Rev. Verlin Butcher officiating. A graveside prayer on the church property will follow the service.

James Winfrey requested a simple service with no viewing or flowers.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations of sympathy to Andrew Chapel UMC or the Williamsburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, Williamsburg, W.Va. 24991.

BRADLEY — Louise Ray Meadows, 96, of Bradley, died Dec. 31, 2006.

EDMOND — Adda Elizabeth Rightenour, 92, of Edmond, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Andrew G. ‘Drew’ Riling Jr.

WYOMING — Andrew Guy “Drew” Riling, Jr., 28, of Wyoming, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mansel White

Mansel White, 90, of Richwood and Melbourne, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the White Funeral Home at Summersville. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 until 8 p.m.

Franklin W. Lindsey

Franklin W. Lindsey, 69, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at his home following a short illness.

Born June 13, 1936, on Sewell Mountain in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Dave C. and Mamie Hamrick Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey was a retired welder from U.S. Navy Supply. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW in Wadsworth, Ohio, and the Masonic Lodge No. 568 A.F. & A.M. of Barberton, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Ware Lindsey of Rainelle; a daughter, Susie McKinney of Canvas; three sons, Rick, Steve and Kevin Lindsey, all of Rainelle; a sister, Lucille Wade of Lewisburg; three brothers, Albert Lindsey of Lewisburg, Herb Lindsey of Rainelle and Dave Lindsey of Eastlake, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ricky Lindsey and Jonathan Gutshall; and a stepgranddaughter, Michelle Neff.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Wallace Memorial cemetery in Clintonville with the Rev. Mike Tincher officiating.

There will be no visitation.
