ANSTED – Hettie Schott Grimmett, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness.
She was born Aug. 7, 1917, in Pieterlin, Switzerland.
Hettie was preceded in death by her father, Adolph Schott Sr. and mother, Marie Schott, husband, John E. Grimmett; daughter, Kathy S. Flint and granddaughter, Lisa Kirkwood.
She was of the Lutheran faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Schott and wife, Sandy of Alliance, Ohio; daughter, Linda Aguilar of Ansted and companion, Rodney K. Fox; daughter, Joan Arbaugh and husband, Harold of Ansted; son-in-law, C.G. Flint of Hico. She had five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of the Redeemer in Ansted, with the Rev. Roy Crist officiating. Burial will follow in Westlake cemetery at Ansted.

Michael E. Kidwell
Michael E. Kidwell, 53, of Surveyor, passed away Nov. 12, 2005.
Born June 26, 1952, he was the son of Kenneth Kidwell of Orgas and Susie Kidwell of Beckley.
Mr. Kidwell graduated from Sherman High School class of 1970. He attended Arnett Assembly of God. He also was a retired chief petty officer with 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy.
Besides his parents, those left to cherish his memory include a son, Michael E. Kidwell Jr. of Surveyor; a daughter, Emily Kidwell of California; a stepson, Joey Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Tina Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Sheila Webb and husband, Elden “Butch,” of Beckley, Blondena Hendrick and husband, George, of Arnett, and Teresa Johnson and husband, Cecil, of Franklin, N.C.; brother, David Kidwell and wife, Sarah, of Stewartville, Minn.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and a close friend, Richard Pritt of Fairdale.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Revs. George Hendrick and Steve Tincher officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, with military graveside rites provided by the Oak Hill VFW and the United States Navy.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dewey Addison Kimberlin, 69, of Coal City, formerly of Odd, and Greenfield, Ind., went to his mansion in heaven on Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.

Paul Landon Meador Sr.
BLUEFIELD, Va. – Paul Landon Meador Sr., 77, of 103 Bluestone Dr., Bluefield, Va., died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, in a Bluefield hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1928, in Camp Creek, W.Va., he was a son of the late Willie Armus and Virginia Cleo French Meador.
Mr. Meador worked for T&T Pontiac of Bluefield for 30 years and retired in 1994 as a parts manager. He was also a member of the Harman Masonic Lodge No. 222 Bluefield, Va. and a US Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Curtis, Kenneth, and Byron Meador; and a grandson, Cameron Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Meador of Bluefield, Va.; two sons, Paul L. Meador Jr. of Bluefield, Va., Byron Meador and wife, Valerie of Jacksonville, Fla., and their mother, Barbara Mayo of Bluefield, Va.; a brother, Deane Meador and wife, Maxine of Williston, Fla.; three sisters, Helen Griffith and husband, Calvin of Cool Ridge, Una Melton and husband, Charlie of Orlando, Fla., Virginia Ellison and husband, Donzie of Beckley; three grandchildren, Myrriah Meador of Jacksonville, Fla., Cathryn Jones of Bluefield, Va. and Brandon Barnes of Jacksonville, Fla.
Services for Mr. Meador will be conducted from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. today with the Rev. Ray Amos officiating. Burial will follow in the French Family cemetery, located in Camp Creek, on Thursday at 12 noon. Those wishing to go to the cemetery are asked to be at the funeral home by 10:45 a.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until time of the services today. Memorial services will be conducted by the Harman Masonic Lodge No. 222 of Bluefield, Va.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Everett Frost, Jim Evans, Sherman Branch, David Hawley, Kenneth Gunn, Keith Harman and Tullio Ramella.

Mildred Emerson Pope
JUMPING BRANCH – Mildred Emerson Pope, 69, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at her home following a sudden illness.
Born May 25, 1936, in Mayville, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Malissa Benson Dascomb.
Mrs. Pope had been a resident of Jumping Branch for the past 20 years and a resident of Mayville, N.Y. for most of her life. She was a former employee at the Mayville Pastry Shop where she worked for 15 years and Webb’s Year Round Resort and was a member of the Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Emerson; second husband, Donald Pope Sr.; a son, Dennis Emerson; four brothers, Clifford, James, Eugene and Perry Erhard; and an infant sister, Sarah Erhard.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Emerson Chambers and husband, Jeff of Jumping Branch; two grandsons, Shawn Emerson and Keith Chambers; six granddaughters, Tammy Siperek, Dawn Bane, Caron Emerson, Jamie Chambers Wykle, Cassie Emerson and Haley Chambers; 10 great-grandchildren, Justin, Evan, Darren, Brandon, Brooklyn, Hunter, Andrew, Stephanie, Danielle and Austin; three sisters, Dot Adams of Bauxite, Ark., Lucille Mayer of Westfield, N.Y., and Mary Dascomb of Jumping Branch, with whom Mildred made her home for the past six years; two brothers, Floyd Erhard of Phoenix, Ariz., and Clarence Dascomb Jr. of North East, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville, N.Y. Burial will follow in the Mayville cemetery.

Mary Rebecca Reed
Mary Rebecca Reed, age 85, of Shady Spring, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born at Blue Jay on march 16, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Smith Rollyson.
Mrs. Reed was a homemaker, was of the Methodist faith and had lived at Shady Spring for the past 12 years, having previously resided in Beaver.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Charles Prince and Wayne Reed; a great-grandson, Brandon Shrewsbury; and a son-in-law, Norman Gilkerson.
Survivors include sons, Kirk Prince and wife, Billye of Shreveport, La., Charles Mack Prince of Shady Spring; daughters, Barbara Cogar of Shady Spring and Rebecca Gilkerson of Beaver; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with the Rev. Betty Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Adam Joseph Richmond
PIPESTEM – Adam Joseph Richmond, 20 of Pipestem, died Sunday November 13, 2005 at his home.
Born Dec. 3, 1984 in Hinton, he was the son of Alice Gill and Bobby Richmond, Sr., both of Hinton.
Adam was graduate of Summers County High School class of 2003. He had many different talents. He was employed in the construction industry, and was a lifelong resident of Summers County.
Besides his parents, other survivors include two sisters; Susan Gill May of Pipestem and Audrey Richmond of Hinton; one brother, Bobby Richmond, Jr.; one niece, Tessa May of Pipestem; two nephews; Trevor Richmond of Jumping Branch, and Logan Phillips of Lerona; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Johnny Wills officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Michael V. Schultz, 49, formerly of Man, died Nov. 12, 2005.

Francis M. Yancey
HINTON – Francis M. “Babe” Yancey, 85 of 513 Chestnut Road, Hinton died at 12:58 a.m. Tuesday morning Nov. 15, 2005 at his home following a long illness.
Born April 29, 1920 in Hinton, he was the son of the late James A. and Lena Deaver Yancey.
“Babe” was a retired 1st Class Serviceman for VEPCO in Hinton. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Hinton and was a lifelong resident of Hinton. “Babe” was also a Ham Radio Operator.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Yancey, and an infant sister.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Mary McLaughlin Yancey; one son, Michael Yancey of Hinton; one daughter, Betty Grear and husband J.D. of Beckley; one granddaughter, Dedra Snead; one great grandson, Trevor Snead; and two step grandchildren, Jessica & Danielle Grear
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Grover Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton.

Sarah R. Cook
Sarah R. Cook, 65, of Fairdale, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005.
Born Jan. 20, 1940, at Oceana, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Nannie Roberts.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Patricia Cook and husband, Herbert, of Oceana, and Martha “Janie” Cook and companion, Scott Parrish, of Oak Hill; grandsons, Herbert Cook Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Oceana, and Dusty Cook; and a great-grandson, Nathan Cook.
In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Cook’s body will be cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date.
