Hazel Frock, 68, formerly of Farley Hill, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2006.

Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 147 Virginia St., Sophia, is in charge of the arrangements.

Kendra Kay Grimshaw

Kendra Kay Grimshaw, still born daughter of Kendrick Grimshaw and Angela Sayer became an angel on Jan. 25, 2006.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Jackson Zachariah Sayer; paternal grandmother, Sue Adkins of Daniels; paternal grandfather, Kendrick Grimshaw Sr. of Russell, N.Y.; maternal grandmother, Kathleen Phillips of Georgia; two aunts, Jessica Hubbard and Bobbie Jo Plumley.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Betty Jane Kincaid

MOUNT HOPE — Betty Jane Kincaid, 77, of Mount Hope, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at her home following a long illness.

Born march 4, 1928, at McDunn, she was the daughter of the late Frank G. and Bessie Scott Stewart.

Mrs. Kincaid was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the Kilsyth Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Glenwood Kincaid Sr., whom she married on Nov. 10, 1947; one grandchild; four great-grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include children: Sharon D. Bradley of Gary, Ind., Billie Jean Sipich and husband, Wayne of Las Vegas, Nev., Barbara A. Knauer and husband, Rick of Forrest, Ill., Glenna M. Wood and husband, Danny of Cleveland, Ohio, Mark G. Kincaid Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., Donald E. Kincaid and wife, Michelle of Sand Branch, and Terrie L. Boyd and husband, Thomas of Prestonsburg, Ky.; three brothers, George Stewart and wife, Gin of Hickory Hills, Ill., John Stewart of Chicago, Ill., and Charles Stewart of Carpentersville, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kilsyth Free Will Baptist Church, Kilsyth with the Rev. Bill Bennett officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Clifton E. Lilly

Clifton E. Lilly, 80, of Midway, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, at VAMC, Beckley, following a short illness.

Born Nov. 1, 1925, at Farley Hill, he was the son of the late William H. Lilly and Amanda Cooper Lilly.

Mr. Lilly was a section foreman for Winding Gulf Coal Company becoming disabled in 1960. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the VFW Post No. 4236 Sophia- Midway.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances L. Lilly; a daughter, Carmen D. Schulte, and brothers, Carlee Lilly and William H. Lilly Jr.

Survivors include a son, Richard E. Lilly and wife, Wendy of Midway; daughter, Karen J. Christie of Beckley; sisters, Anna Bell Fleshman and husband, Cethus of Beckley, and Willie Mae Cole of Daniels; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private graveside rites and burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, with the Rev. Chris Boggess officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV, 25802.

James Edward ‘Eddie’ Collier

HUNTINGTON — James Edward “Eddie” Collier, 75, of Huntington, passed away April 15, 2006, at his residence.

Eddie was born August 2, 1930 at Princeton; he was the son of the late William A. Collier and Edith V. Caldwell.

Mr. Collier was Operations Manager of Southern States Cooperatve for 43 years, was a member of Grace Gospel Church, and was a Veteran of U.S. Marines during the Korea Conflict.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Anne E. Patton Collier; his daughter, Connie R. Wood of South Point, Ohio; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Debbie Collier and Robert B. and Darlene Collier, both of Huntington; grandchildren, Andy and wife Fabi Collier, Kiera Beth Collier and fiance Timothy Thacker, Tommy and Anna Wood, Scott Collier, and Bryan Collier.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Henson Mortuary, with the Revs. Jerry Matt and Garland Howington officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton.

Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

PRINCETON — Dorothy J. Farmer, 76, of Princeton, died Sunday, April 16, 2006.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Friends may call today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thearon Jarrett, Jr.

OAK HILL — Thearon Jarrett, Jr., 82, of Oak Hill, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2006.

Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, is in charge of the arrangements.

Margie W. Lyons

PARKERSBURG — Margie W. Lyons, 38, of Parkersburg, died April 14, 2006, at the St. Joseph Hospital after a battle with cancer.

She was born in Huntington and was raised in Greenbrier Co. She graduated from High School in Greenbrier Co. and attended Marshall University in Huntington earning her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees. She was currently employed by Ohio Valley University as Director of Student Financial Services and was well loved and respected by the students. Margie was a very active faithful member of the Grand Central Church of Christ where she was a Bible Class Teacher and loved helping with the Youth Program and chaperoning Trips. Margie loved Scrapbooking, Reading, Photography and Purse shopping. Above all things Margie will be most remembered for her strong faith and love for the Church and the selfless way she always put others first even through her illness.

She is survived by her Father, William A. Weed II and his wife Kathy of Charleston. Her Mother, Patricia Bentley Chambers and her husband Carl of Moundsville. Her Husband, Daniel K. Lyons of Parkersburg, Her Son, Andrew Scott Lyons at home; Her Brother, William A. Weed III and his wife Bobbie of Idaho Falls, ID.; Her Sister, Rebecca Smith and her husband James of Chesapeake, Va. Her Uncle, Ralph Bentley and his wife Laura of Huntington; Her Aunt, Sandra Handschuh and her husband Marty of Montpelier, Va. Her Father and Mother-in-law, Larry and Fu Ling Lyons of Washington. Her Sisters-in-law, Diana Lin Hesselrode and her husband Breck of Washington and Jennifer Mei Lyons of Parkersburg. Two Nieces and Four Nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grand Central Church of Christ in Vienna, with Evangelists Steve Morgan and Joe Spivey officiating. The visitation will entirely be at the Church Tuesday from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Margie Lyons Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Ohio Valley University, #1 Campus View Dr., Vienna, WV.

Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg is entrusted to the arrangements.

Alyssa Grace Mills

On Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, Little Miss Alyssa Grace Mills became a full-fledged angel when she passed away at birth at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.

Alyssa was the beloved daughter of the Michael Howard and Susan Renea Ward Mills II of Ewart Avenue, Beckley.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Andrea.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory are her loving sister and brothers, Ashley, Josh and Jeremy.

Alyssa was the dear granddaughter of Michael and Susan E. Mills Sr. of Ghent, Thomas and Sandra Holliday of Beckley, Eddie Ward of Crab Orchard; and the dear niece of Laura Mills of Ghent, Christy Vance of Mabscott, Myra Redman of Beckley and Dennis Ward of Sophia.

Private service will be Thursday at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Andrew Herndon Cook

OCEANA — Andrew Herndon Cook, 90, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at Raleigh General Hospital.

Born Nov. 3, 1916, at Toney Fork, he was the son of the late Roscoe C. Cook and Essie Mae Cook.

Mr. Cook was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County and attended Toneda Baptist Church. He was a member of UMWA, District 17, and the Odd Fellows Lodge. Mr. Cook was extremely generous to his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Irene Cook; and son, Harold Edwin Cook.

Survivors include a daughter, Marian Elizabeth Cook Perkins and her husband, Charles L. Sr., of Falls Church, Va.; adopted daughter, Susie Stinnett of Oceana; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Ron Harvey officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

UNION — Ricky Lee Farley, 45, of Union, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2007.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Groves Funeral Home Chapel, Union. Friends may call noon until time of service Thursday.

PRINCETON — Clarence Gillenwater, 83, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007.

Emerson ‘Bill’ Grimmett

TUG CREEK — Emerson ‘Bill’ Grimmett, 62, of Tug Creek, died at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at his home following a short illness.

Born on Jan. 13, 1945, in Hinton, he was the son of the late Lacy Frank and Lula Blanche Gill Grimmett.

Bill was a retired mechanic for the West Virginia Department of Highways, Summers County Division, with 30 years of service. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church at Powleys Creek. He was a lifelong resident of Summers County and enjoyed restoring antique cars and planting flowers. He was a former member of the West Virginia Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Ward, Rhoda Bennett and Betty Wallace.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Thelma Dunford Grimmett; a son, Kenny Grimmett of Tug Creek; four daughters, Deborah K. Grimmett of Tug Creek, Billie Fox and husband, Alfred, of Ballard, Melinda Bragg and husband, B.J., of Tug Creek and Crystal Morrison and husband, David, of Forest Hill; a brother, Cecil Grimmett and wife, Wilma, of Leatherwood Road; two sisters, Nannie Baker of Hinton and Joy Patterson and husband, Sandy, of Caldwell; mother-in-law, Norma Dunford of Tug Creek; and seven grandchildren, James Bennett, Samantha Fox, Frank Bragg, Zachary Grimmett and Brandy, Megan and David Morrison.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor George Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Knob Baptist Church cemetery.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dale and Steve Hedrick, Ashby Maddy, Randy and Greg Bridges and Bill Lilly.
