Goldie Mannie Lyons, 82, of Cranberry, died Saturday, Nov. 26,2005.
She was born June 29, 1923, a daughter of the late Isaac Lyons and Mary Mae Lyons.
She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Cranberry Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gruder Lyons; sons, Jerry Wayne Lyons, Charles Lyons, Sr., and Carl Lyons; and daughters, Mary Belle Kennedy and Anna Mae Arthur; one granddaughter; two brothers; one sister and one great grandson.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Lynn Bailey of Beckley; sons, Edward Monroe Lyons and wife Inis of Cranberry, William Glen Lyons of Midway, The Rev. Frank Lyons and wife Peggy of Beckley. Grandchildren include Carl Eugene Bailey, Charlene Lynn Wray, Anna Belle Lyons, Tracy Athey, Patricia Linksweiler, Jack Arthur, Chuck Lyons, Kathy Tolliver, Debbie Osborne, Dave Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, John Kennedy; six great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cranberry Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Burial will be in the Prosperity cemetery in Prosperity.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
Pallbearers include Troy Osborne, Sr., Troy Wayne Osborne, Matthew Osborne, George Rose, Jack Hampton Jr., and Dave Riley.

Lelia M. Randall
SKELTON — Lelia M. Randall went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.
Lelia was born February 20, 1927 at Engle Branch. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ada Mae Blake.
Mrs. Randall was a housewife and mother of nine children.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Beckley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Mose N. Randall, Sr.; and a son, Robert Randall.
Those left to cherish her memory include her five daughters and four sons: Mose N. Randall, II, of Skelton, Faye and Dave Reid of Cleveland, Ohio, Roselyn and Fred Williams of Jamicia, New York, Eva and Larry Persinger of Beckley, Shirley and Leon Crowe of Atlanta, Drema and Charles Banks of Beckley, Roger and Marie Randall of Beckley, Donnie and Lisa Randall of Beckley; one brother, Wright Blake of Detroit; two sisters, Alliene Hammond of Cleveland and Mattie Parson of Bronx, New York; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be 12 p.m., Thursday at the First Baptist Church of North Beckley with the Rev. James Cox officiating. Entombment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley,
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 11 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the church.

Patricia Lea Smith
LAWNDALE, N.C. — Patricia Lea Smith, formerly of the Rainelle area, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 in a local hospital following a long illness.
Born on July 17, 1937 in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lewis and Rose Lea Gunnoe Martin.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Gene G. Smith; and two brothers, Frank and Dale Martin.
Survivors include three brothers, Dallas Martin of Lawndale, Bill Martin of Wilmington, Delaware, and Bob Martin of Tazwell, Va.; and four sisters, Ann Walker of Piney View, Betty Mull of Laurel, Del., Brenda Schlapfer and Marilyn Miller, both of Bear, Del.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum at Clintonville.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Hughie Toler
Hughie Toler, 95, of Clear Fork, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005 in a Beckley hospital.
Born October 28, 1910, he was the son of the late Pete Toler and Mary Goodman Toler.
Mr. Toler was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing and loved being with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lettie Toler; three sons, Gene Toler, Ray Toler and Gerald Toler; and a daughter, Linda May Stewart.
Survivors include four sons, Pete Toler of Clear Fork, Jerry Toler and wife Sandra of Clear Fork, Clonal Toler of Kopperston and Danny Toler and wife Rita of Clear Fork; four daughters, Kathleen Burgess Likens and husband Jerry of Lynco, Marie Morgan and husband Albert, Jr., of Glen Fork, Norma Lee Toler and husband Johnny of Clear Fork and Retha Cline and husband Harold of Clear Fork. Also, 25 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Firg Proffitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Toler Family cemetery in Sun Hill.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., today at the funeral home.

Alice Carlene Bailey Aranda
Alice Carlene Bailey Aranda, 71, of Oak Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at home following a short illness.
Born Aug. 26, 1934, in Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late Elmos Carl and Lena Elizabeth Thompson Bailey.
Mrs. Aranda was a retired practical nurse for Aristocrat of Cleveland, Ohio.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Oak Hill.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Elaine Aranda Coffman; a grandson, Sean Douglas Coffman; and a brother, Darrell Douglas Duncan.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore W. “Ted” Aranda; a son, Theodore W. Aranda of North Ridgeville, Ohio; a daughter, Patricia Darlene Aranda Conner of Oak Hill; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be Thursday at Tyree Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernie Jernigan and the Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Interment will be in the High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
James C. ‘Jay’ Buckland Jr.
RAVENNA, Ohio — James C. “Jay” Buckland Jr., 46, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005.
He was born Oct. 8, 1959, the son of James C. and Hilda Ruth Buckland Sr.
Jay loved to ride motorcycles. He was a welder.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn D. Buckland; daughter, Rachael M. Buckland of Kent, Ohio; a sister, Beth Bartholomew of Auburn Township; and his father, James C. Buckland, Sr., of Ravenna.
Mr. Buckland was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Ruth Buckland.
Friends were received Tuesday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home in Ravenna.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. Thursday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley. The Rev. Bill McClung will officiate.

Floyd ‘Ed’ Edward Clay
PAGE — Floyd “Ed” Edward Clay, 85, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.
He was born March 12, 1920, in Page, the son of the late Howard and Lilly Mae Cobb Clay.
Mr. Clay was a retired coal miner and was a member of the UMWA.
He was a member of the First Church of God at Kincaid, where he was Sunday School superintendent for many years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Dolin Clay; four brothers, John, Truman, Grover, and Dillon Clay; and one sister, Belva Dolin.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Mae Tincher Clay; three sons, Floyd William (Kathy) Clay of Kincaid; Ronald Lee Clay and Donald Edward Clay, both of Page; two daughters, Mary Lou (Sidney) Price of Ingram Branch, and Marlene Lynn (David) Rogers of Charlottesville, Va.; three stepsons Paul (Barbara) Cobb, Tommy (Cheryl) Cobb, and Robbie (Mary Ellen) Cobb, all of Page; one stepdaughter, Kathy (Will) Thomas of Roanoke, Va.; three grandsons Aaron, John, and Clinton Clay; one granddaughter, Kayla Clay and seven step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the First church of God, Kincaid. The Rev. Gerald Grant and the Rev. Eugene Morris will officiate. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.

BRENTON — Pauline Cook, 80, departed this life to be with the Lord, Monday, Nov. 28, 2005.

Ruby Lucille Dunbar
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Ruby Lucille Dunbar, 82, formerly of Alderson, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at Gateway Medical Center.
Ruby was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Creamery and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mamie Walkup Erskine. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Joe Dunbar.
Mrs. Dunbar was a member of the Keller Presbyterian Church at Lowell, and of the Senior Citizen Center in Clarksville.
She is survived by two sons, John Dunbar of Silver Springs, Fla., and Luther Wayne Dunbar of Southside, Tenn.; two daughters, Judith Gilray of Clarksville and Teresa Wilson of Cunningham, Tenn; three sisters, Ruth Smith of Union, Gladys Sternmartin of White Sulphur Springs and Mary Sears of Alderson; 16 grandchildren, Robert S. Gilray Jr., Michael S. Gilray, Matthew S. Gilray, Judith “Candi” E. Dunbar, John Dunbar Jr., Amanda Dunbar, Thomas Joe Dunbar, Michelle Powers, Joey Dunbar, Daniel Dunbar, Gary Medina, Shannon Medina, Samantha Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Stacy Dunbar and Misty Dunbar. Seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlor in Hinton. Burial will follow in the Keller Presbyterian Church cemetery at Lowell.
