PINEVILLE — Louise Mandy Mullins, 89, of Welch-Pineville Road, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Princeton. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Calfee Funeral Service, Pineville.

Anna Rose Ferri Oxendale

OAK HILL — Anna Rose Ferri Oxendale, 89, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at Mary’s Garden at Hidden Valley, Oak Hill.

She is survived by a son, James Oxendale of Oak Hill; two daughters, Barbara Neal of Morgantown and Rita Allen of Hendersonville, Tenn.; three sisters, Mary Kennedy and Fannie Jones, both of Oak Hill, and Julie Hanson of Mobile, Ala.; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, 123 Elmore St., Oak Hill, W.Va. 25901.

Clark Austin ‘Jake’ Reed

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS — Clark Austin “Jake” Reed, 84, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 5, 2006, at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Va.

He was born Aug. 24, 1922, at Williamsburg, a son of the late Jacob Henry and Verna Dell Wyatt Reed.

Mr. Reed was a retired Greenbrier County school teacher with over 30 years service. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and First Church of God in White Sulphur Springs. He was a 50-year Mason with the Alleghany Lodge No. 136 AF & AM. Mr. Reed attended Greenbrier Military School and graduated from White Sulphur High School, Class of 1940. He was a graduate of Concord College and received his master’s degree from West Virginia University. Mr. Reed was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janis Trent Reed; two sisters, Elta Moyer and Hazel Hartley; and a brother, Henry Reed.

He is survived by two sons, Mike Reed and Greg Reed and his wife, Bonnie; and a daughter, Susan Dowdy, all of White Sulphur Springs.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, with Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating. Burial will follow in Mapledale cemetery, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs.

The family will receive their friends 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made either to Emmanuel United Methodist Church or First Church of God in White Sulphur Springs.

Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, is serving the family.

Debra Jarrell Williams

PALM HARBOR, Fla. — Debra Jarrell Williams, formerly of Beckley, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at her home in Palm Harbor. She was 54 years of age.

RICHWOOD — Sammy Junior Wright died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Baptist Church, Craigsville. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

James ‘Jimmy’ Mounts

BAISDEN — James “Jimmy” Mounts, 58, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel.

Edwin Ray Shupe

HINTON — Edwin Ray Shupe, 87 of 1012 Terrace St., passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Summers County A.R.H. following a long illness.

Born Feb. 9, 1919, in Edmonds, N.C., he was the son of the late Malcolm and Eva Rector Shupe of Galax, Va.

Ray was a loyal member of Miller Memorial Me-thodist Church in Bellepoint. He retired from Virginia Electric Power with 38 years of service, being transferred to Hinton from Buena Vista, Va., in 1970. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran, having fought in the South Pacific on Okinawa and Pelelieu. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 55 years, also a member of the Lions Club and Odd Fellows. Ray was also an avid fisherman and musician.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 63 years, Margaret Lynn Shupe; two daughters, Donna Jewell and husband, Mike, of Richmond, Va., and Susan Carden and husband, Steve, of Front Royal, Va.; two granddaughters, Hillary Chojnacki and husband, Richard, of Sarasota, Fla., and Hayden Roberts of Las Angeles, Calif.; two grandsons, Reed and Drew Carden; two great-granddaughters, Sydney and Skylar Chojnacki; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 6, 2006, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with the Rev. Ken Stockwell and the Rev. Eugene Fullen officiating. Interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at Fairview cemetery in Buchanan, Va. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Frank P. Miller of Dunns Road, Flat Top, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was 66.

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas — Quindora McCallister Myles, a native of Harvey in Fayette County, died Thursday, June 15, 2006.

Service will be Friday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, White Sulphur Springs. The family will receive their friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Gary Lewis Omechinski

MOUNT HOPE — Gary Lewis Omechinski, 48, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.

Born Aug. 7, 1957, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Louie and Zona Gail Farley Omechinski.

Survivors include a sister, Vicki Dangerfield of Morgantown, and a brother, Emory Michael Smith of Oak Hill.

Service will be 6:30 p.m. today at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, with the Rev. Robert Barley officiating.

Friends may call 6 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802.

Alonzo L. Parker

Alonzo L. Parker, 59, formerly of Beckley, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006, in Baltimore, Md.

He was the son of Stella Parker of Beckley.

Alonzo was a graduate of Stratton High School, a veteran of the U.S. Marines and longtime employee of Bethlehem Steel and Giant Warehouse.

His father, Adie Parker, and sister, Delores Harris, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Gwendolyn; son, Alonzo L. Parker Jr., and daughters, Rolanda Franklin and Tina McCrae, all of Baltimore; sister, Christine Green (Melvin) of Baltimore; brothers, Harvey Parker (Marcie) of Fort Wayne, Ind., Charles Parker (LaDale), Donald Parker (Norma) of Beckley, Floyd Parker (Mamie) and Odie Parker of Charleston; five grandchildren; an aunt, Hazel Wilson of Beckley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at King Way Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Roberson officiating. Military rites will follow in Garrison Forest cemetery.

Lottie A. Goodson Pauley

CEDAR GROVE — Lottie A. Goodson Pauley, 97, died Monday, June 19, 2006.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cooke Funral Home, Cedar Grove, where there will be a Phythian Sisters memorial service at 7 p.m.

Daniel Keith ‘Danny’ Pettry

Daniel Keith “Danny” Pettry, 47, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Daniels, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2006, suddenly.

Born July 17, 1958, in Beckley, he was the son of Betty Pettry and the late Paul Pettry of Daniels.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tivis Graybeal and Cal and Betty Pettry.

Those left to cherish his memory other than his mother are his loving wife, Candy; a brother, Daryl of Palm Bay, Fla.; three nieces, Andrea Pettry of Palm Bay and Holly and Christian Allgeir of Lexington; two nephews, Nicholas Pettry of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tyler Allgeir of Lexington; grandmother, Dollie Graybeal of Midway; mother-in-law, Martha Christian of Lexington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was a 1976 graduate of Shady Spring High School and received his master’s degree in 1982 from Marshall University and was a member of Marshall Alumni Association of Lexington.

He was employed by GlaxoSmithKline as a senior executive sales representative. He was very active in reclamation of wildlife habitat.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Beaver First Baptist Church with the Rev. Allan Copenhaver and the Rev. Ron McClung officiating.

The family will receive friends 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Charlotte ‘Granny’ Williams Piotrowski

RONCEVERTE — Charlotte “Granny” Williams Piotrowski, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, of an illness.

Born Oct. 15, 1917, at Eccles, she was the daughter of the late James and Elva Massey Williams.

Charlotte enjoyed reading, puzzles, telling jokes and helping her granddaughter with Mom’s Indian Taco concession stand. She was retired from B.F. Goodrich in Richwood.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Piotrowski; daughters, Betty Landis and Terry Piotrowski; grandchildren, Cindy Carol Landis, Heather Landis Sharp and Jerry Landis; and son-in-law, Lt. Robert Lowry.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Stello Ann Piotrowski Lowry of Edgemont, Ark.; a son, William “Bill” Piotrowski and wife, Annis Lea, of Logansport, Ind.; three sisters, Christine and husband, John Jones, of Louisville, Ky., Betty and husband, Ramon Prieto, of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Sandy Tawdi of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Sherman and wife, Ellen Williams, of Prince Frederick, Md., and Conward “Connie” and wife, Sandy, of Vista, Calif.; grandchildren, Drema Moore of Marlinton, Bucky Landis of Roceverte, Angel Piotrowski of Renick, Wendy Seabolt of Rochester, Ind., Kathy Rider of Dayton, Ind., Loren Piotrowski of Griffin, Ga., and Steve Piotrowski of Logansport.; 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Ronceverte, with the Rev. Gerald Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in Ruckman cemetery.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
