RUSHSYLVANIA, Ohio — Delila Nunn, 79, of Rushsylvania, formerly of Pineville, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at her home with her family at her side following an extended illness.
A loving and devoted homemaker, Delila filled her family’s lives with joy, love and adoring appreciation. She was generous and kind-hearted and was a blessing to all of those who knew her.
She formerly attended Otsego Church of Christ and had also attended Bellefontaine Church of Christ and the Kenton Church of Christ. She graduated from Phelps High School in 1945. Delila enjoyed fishing, playing games, working puzzles and crafts. Her greatest joy came when surrounded by her family.
She was born April 15, 1927, in Sharondale, Ky., to the late Charlie and Bessie Moore Thornhill. She married Teddie Nunn on Dec. 1, 1945, in Freeburn, Ky., and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Nunn; two sisters, Irene Preece and Alice Hyden; three brothers, Lee Thornhill, Charles “Junior” Thornhill and John Thornhill; and an infant sister, Lily Thornhill.
Affectionately known as “Granny” and “Mama,” she is survived by her son, Bill (Alma) Nunn of West Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters, Myra (Dan) Johnson of Rushsylvania and Cheryl (Butch) Blankenship, Bellefontaine, Ohio; two sisters, Shirley Compton of Kemper, Ky., and Sue Dotson of Phelps, Ky.; a brother, David and his wife, Charlotte Thornhill, of Nashville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Bobby (Stacey) Johnson, Lisa (Dennis) Nawman, Danny (Krystal) Johnson, David (Stacie) Nunn, Mindy Nunn, Brian (Melissa) Blankenship, Joey (Angel) Blankenship and Julie (Billy) Allison; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim Taylor will officiate service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
Mary Anne Runyon
FOREST HILL — Mary Anne Runyon, 67, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Princeton Community Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1938, at High Coal, and was the daughter of the late Clarice H. and Sylvia Cantley Wiley.
Mrs. Runyon was a homemaker, a member of Victory Pentecostal Church at Lindside and was a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jean Skeba.
Survivors include her husband, Archie Runyon; a son, Archie C. Runyon II and his wife, Cindy, of Beaver; two daughters, Carmen Withrow and husband, Chuck, of Frankfort, Ky., and Sonya Elaine McGuffin of Charleston; a brother, James E. Wiley and wife, Debbie, of Charleston; three grandchildren, Grant and Galen Runyon of Beaver, and Amanda Ford of Charleston; and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, with Pastor J.C. Finley and the Rev. Joe Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Kellers Creek cemetery, Talcott.
Pallbearers will be Grant and Galen Runyon, Chuck Withrow, Allen Hylton, Gerald Fox and Earl Williams.

Frances Campbell Shaver
TOLEDO, Ohio — Frances Campbell Shaver, 88, formerly of Gap Mills, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Sunrise Center in Toledo following a long illness.
She was born June 25, 1918, at Gap Mills, the daughter of the late J. Robert and Mary A. Campbell.
Mrs. Campbell was a retired employee of the West Virginia Department of Health, conducting seminars and training programs throughout the state on cancer control, and a member of Gap Mills United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. “Duke” Shaver, on Sept. 22, 1981; three brothers, Clyde, Jack and Calvin Campbell; and a sister, Sara Arwood.
She is survived by five nephews, John C. Rowan (Doris) and Robert C. Rowan (Pearl) of Toledo, Franklin Rowan (deceased) and wife, Betty, of Charlotte, N.C., Richard Hagan (Barbara) of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Thomas Hagan (Cheryl) of Perrysburg, Ohio; a niece, Jackie Bates (Ted) of Warren, Mich.; and 14 grandnieces and nephews. Although she had no children of her own, she considered her nieces and nephews as her children and was very close to each of them.
Service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Gap Mills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow in Carmel cemetery, Gap Mills.
Family will receive friends 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home, Union.

James Douglas ‘Jim’ Trail Sr.
LEBANON, Va. — James Douglas “Jim” Trail Sr., 64, passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon.
Jim was employed by K-VA-T Food Stores Inc. as the security training officer. He was formerly the vice president of operations of Southwest Security and vice president of Peerless Recovery. He was a Marine Corps veteran and an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lebanon. He was a member of the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department and was a life member of the Lebanon Life Saving Crew and honorary lifetime captain of the Russell County Rescue Squad.
He loved spending time at his house boat on South Holston Lake, being with his grandchildren, and the companionship of his buddy, a black lab “Dale.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Trail, and his brother, Harold Trail.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Ellen Mills Trail; a son, James Douglas Trail Jr. and wife, Beth Anne, of Bristol, Va.; a daughter, Tamara Lynn Stevens and husband, C. Bryan, of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Seth “Say Boy,” Logan “Logie” and Kaitlyn “Kate” Stevens, all of Lebanon; his mother, Lorena Kay Trail, and sister, Beverly Trail, of Beaver; mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Mawmaw” Mills of White Oak; several sisters and brothers-in-law; a wonderful church family and many friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 30, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Meade officiating. Entombment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Military rites will be conducted by Lebanon VFW Post No. 9864.
Pallbearers will be David Brown, Christopher Carrier, Kenneth Keys, Roger Huffman, Jerry Howarth, Curtis Ewing, Bob Mills and Curtis Tackett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Bethel Baptist Church, Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department and Mid-Mountain Foods Security Team.

Agnes Myree Wallace
Agnes Myree Wallace, born Sept. 9, 1920, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
It is with deep regret and sorrow we note the passing of Agnes Myree Wallace, daughter of Rhoda and John Rowles. Born in Sophia, her sister, Virgie, and brother, Paul, are deceased. She was the wife of Boyd Edward “Buck” Wallace for 36 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Reedy of Shady Spring, Rita Maxson of Stafford, Va., and Jeffri Swatzyna of Roanoke, Va.; five grandchildren, Sonny Massey, Tracy Hammons, Chris Painter, and Luke and Laura Swatzyna; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was a proud resident of Beckley for 65 years and was the owner/manager of several apartment buildings in Beckley and also sold real estate. Myree was a member of the United Methodist Church in Beckley.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley. Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
