Tammy Marie Tyler

FLORALHOME, Fla. — Tammy Marie Tyler, 42, died Friday, June 16, 2006.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Goode cemetery, Bud Mountain. Friends may call noon to 1 p.m. today at Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.

Rodney ‘Butch’ L. Weaver

Rodney “Butch” L. Weaver, 58, born at Sophia on April 9, 1948, son of the late Vada and Andrew Weaver, passed away Monday, June 19, 2006, at the VA Medical Center of Beckley.

Butch was a retired Army captain, decorated Vietnam veteran and served his country for 22 years. He was also a loving husband, brother and father.

Left behind to cherish his memories include his wife, Mary S. Weaver; two sons, Andrew T. Weaver and Rodney P. Weaver and their mother, Martha M. Weaver, of Dothan, Ala; two daughters, Tish Smith of Sophia and Barbie Salmons and husband, Terry; three granddaughters, Cassie, Jessica and Katy of Pineville; sister, Sandra Liebert and husband, John, of Washington, D.C.; brother, Michael Weaver and wife, Tina, of Coal City; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special and faithful friends, Joyce Davis and Jackie Linkous.

Service will be 1 p.m. today at Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia, with Pastor James Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Jimmy Henderson, Danny Bowman, Jackie Linkous, Jeff Rushbrook, Rodney Rushbrook and Andrew Miller will be serving as pallbearers.

Friends gathered with the family 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Special thanks to the VA Medical Center, Sophia Church of God and all our friends for their condolences and prayers.

Imogene Wood

LASHMEET — Imogene Wood, 69, of 160 Eastview Way, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at her home.

Born June 8, 1937, at Dott, she was the daughter of the late Eldridge and Nannie Til-ley Walker.

She was a lifelong resident of Mercer County, was a homemaker and a member of Princeton Primitive Baptist Church for many years.

Survi vors include her husband, Vernon Wood; sons, Billy Wood and wife, Carolyn, Johnny Wood and wife, Jodenna, and Paul Wood; daughter, Teresa Moore and husband, Dwayne; stepsons, James “Micky” Wood and wife, Renee and Wesley Wood and wife, Christy; stepdaughters, Linda Harding and husband, Bill, Leona Gillispie and husband, Richard, and Kathy Harless and husband, Kenny; brother, Bernard Ronald Walker; sisters, Evelyn Gillispie, Dorothy Poff, Dana Pettry, Marlene Dillon, Shelia Payne and husband, Jim, and Sylvia Kinzer and husband, Daniel; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and special friends, Yvonne and Onsby Hurst.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, at Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory, Athens Road, Princeton, with Elder Joe Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Crotty Family cemetery, Lashmeet.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers

James Charles Wagner Jr.

SALEM, Va. — James Charles Wagner Jr., 63, formerly of Peterstown, died Sunday, June 18, 2006.

Graveside service with military rites will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Peterstown cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown.

Joseph Homer Young Jr.

FORT SPRING — Joseph Homer Young Jr., age 55, died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at his home in Fort Spring, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 18, 1951, at Fort Spring, he was the son of the late Joseph Homer and Stella Ruth Longanacre Young.

Mr. Young was a former employee of Royster Clark, Fort Spring, and was also a former construction worker and truck driver. He was a 1968 graduate of Alderson High School and was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church, Flat Mountain, Alderson, where he was a former usher.

Mr. Young loved to hunt and fish and was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Virginia Mae Kirby Young of Fort Spring; five children, Virginia Ann Rodriquez and her husband, Ed, of Havelock, N.C., Deborah Lynn Bennett of Havelock, N.C., Roger Allen Bennett and his fiancé, Sabrina Honaker, of Caldwell, Joseph Homer Young III and his wife, Jennifer, of Fort Spring, and John Keith Young of Fort Spring; four sisters, Mary Richmond and her husband, John Quincy, of Fairlea, Betty Ann Johnson of Talcott, Kathleen Rolen and her husband, Raymond, of St. Louis, Mo., and Barbara Sue Woods of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, with Pastor James Combs and the Rev. Gary Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial cemetery, Clintonville.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mary Mann Zinn

On Tuesday, June 13, 2006, Mary Mann Zinn passed away peacefully at Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, Md.

She was the beloved mother of Roger Zinn; mother-in-law of Betsy Fielding; and grandmother of Adelaide and Liam Zinn.

She is survived by husband, Raymond Zinn; brother, Samuel Mann; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She as preceded in death by her brother, James Mann.

A memorial service with family and friends will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2006, at the Asbury Methodist Village, Wilson Health Care Center (first floor Chapel), 301 Russell Ave., Gaithersburg, Md. 20877.

Interment in Renick will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Asbury Methodist Village.

Clay W. Walker

Clay W. Walker, 58, of Beaver, died at his home, Cris Lane, Beaver, on Friday, April 21, 2006, of cancer.

Born June 17, 1947, at Madison, he was the son of Clay L. Walker of Parkersburg and the late Doris Long Walker of Parkersburg.

Survivors include his father, Clay L. Walker of Parkersburg, his loving companion, Freda Sisk of Beaver; two daughters, Kim Bowman and Mike of Columbia, S.C., and Kelly Marshall and Shawn of Union; a son, Brett of New Jersey; seven grandchildren, Chip, Chad, and Katibeth of Columbia, and Daniel, Molly, Tori and Megan Marshall of Union; and his faithful dog, Bogie.

Clay graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1965, and attended Concord College.

He worked many years for Baker Hughes selling mining supplies. He was a faithful member and secretary for the Elks Lodge in Beckley and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Mabscott.

He was an avid golfer and spent many days playing golf with his friends.

His body was donated to West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg.

A celebration of his life will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Elks Lodge on Heber Street in Beckley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Clay Walker to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, Fraternal Order of Eagles in Mabscott or the Elks Lodge in Beckley.

Josephine Williams

ANSTED — Josephine Williams, 72, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006, following a long illness.

Born Aug. 2, 1933, at Ames Heights, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Lee Toney Hall.

Josephine was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a previous cashier and greeter at the Oak Hill Wal-Mart.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Benny Williams Sr., on April 14, 1978; three sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Ballard Taylor and Mona and C.H. Dufour, all of Ansted; two sons and their wives, Frank Benny and Cathy Williams Jr. and Mark and Karen Williams, all of Amelia, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Irene Hundley and Linda Gill.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Ansted, with the Rev. Ronnie Eagle and Pastor Mason Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Luther G. Wills Sr.

HINTON — Luther G. Wills Sr., 77, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at his home.

Steward Anthony Wynne

Steward Anthony Wynne, 53, of 200 Tolbert St., Beckley, died Friday, April 21, 2006, at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.

Born Feb. 23, 1953, in St. Albans, N.Y., he was the son of the late Wesley C. Wynne Sr. and Hilda Steward of St. Albans.

Mr. Wynne was also known as the “Master Mixer.” He was a graduate of Queens College in Flushing, N.Y., in 1975, with a B.S. degree in communication. He enjoyed working with troubled youth, coaching basketball, deep sea fishing and loved making people happy with his music. He was employed by WSWP TV and West Virginia Public Radio. His program “Black Beat” aired on West Virginia Public Radio every Saturday for eight years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Ella Young Wynne; children, Ihsan Anthony Wynne of Plantation, Fla., Brian Robinson of Ohio, Amina Danette Wynne of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Karmella Yasmine Wynne of Beckley; grandchildren, Lyana Samone Wynne of Plantation, Fla., and Shamad Raheem Wynne-Thompson of Beckley; brothers and sisters, Bonnie Huntley of St. Albans, N.Y., Wesley Carl Wynne of St. Albans, N.Y., and Estelle Haynes of St. Albans, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Willie Haynes of St. Albans, N.Y.; niece and nephew, Nina Wynne and Wesley Wynne Jr., both of St. Albans, N.Y., and many additional nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Heart of God Ministries, Beckley, with Dr. Fred T. Simms officiating.

Friends may call one hour before service today at the church.

Arrangements entrusted to Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor, Beckley.
