Wilma “Maw” Ross Keyser, 90, went to be with her Lord to the place He's been preparing for her, Tuesday, December 7, 2004. Funeral service were conducted at 11 am.. Friday, December 10, 2004, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister David Templeton. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born December 27, 1913, in Salt Rock, a daughter of the late Lee and Vilora Parsons Ross. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd “John” Keyser; two sisters, Elsie Lucas and Ever Stephens; and two brothers, Hersel Ross and Eldon Ross. She was a faithful member of Merritts Creek Church of Christ for more than 52 years. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Eric Labus of Salt Rock, her beloved grandson John Michael Labus; one sister, Naomi Keyser of Salt Rock and three sisters-in-law, Halsie and Ruth Ross of Salt Rock, and Alfreeda Copen of Huntington. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and church family. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to her special caregiver, Patty Police, for her care during her final days.
Erin Christine Galvin
Erin Christine Galvin, 4, of South Point, Ohio, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 2000, in Huntington, a daughter of Chris and Dwanetta Wilfong Galvin of South Point. Also surviving are sister, Tember Galvin at home; maternal grandparents, Andy and Brenda Wilfong of Barboursville; and paternal grandparents, John and Connie Galvin of Ironton. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Henson Mortuary with the Rev. Paul Meadows officiating; burial in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.

Mrs. Arlie Goodall, 87, of Barboursville, W.Va., widow of Carl H. Goodall, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in Chateau Grove Assisted Living Center, Barboursville. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, WV, with Pastor Fred Ramey officiating. Entombment in Ridgelawn Abbey of Devotion, Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born July 5, 1917, in Putnam County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Okey and Hattie Parkins. She was retired from Boeing Aviation. She resided in Granada Hills, Calif. for 45 years before returning to Huntington in 1995. In addition to her husband and she was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Parkins. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Shirlene Jenkins of Barboursville; stepson, Jack Goodall of Huntington; brother, Noel Parkins of Monterey, Calif.; seven step-grandchildren; and her caregivers at Chateau Grove, with whom her family will be eternally grateful.
Glenn W. Mehltretter
Glenn W. Mehltretter, 85, of Huntington went to be the with Lord Friday, Dec. 10, 2004. Funeral mass was held Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Our Lady of Fatima Church by Father Jim Sobus. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born March 20, 1919, in Bayonne, N.J., a son of the late John and Gertrude Whalen Mehltretter He was also preceded in death by one brother, Wilson Mehltretter. He was a retired executive vice-president at International Nickel Co. after 45 years of service. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was instrumental in the growth and expansion of Camp Louis in Dover, N.J. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, an ex-member of the Stardust Dance Club in Huntington and a member and past president of Rotary International in New Jersey. He was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering with a BSME and was employed on the Manhattan Project. He was an avid fisherman who made semi-annual fishing trips to the North Carolina coast and he enjoyed golf and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Carroll Mehltretter; one son, Glenn Mehltretter and his wife, Betsy-Jo, of Raleigh N.C.; two brothers, Jack Mehltretter of Florida and Jim Mehltretter of North Carolina; one sister, Joan Kontje of California; three grandchildren, Heidi Sneath and her husband, David, Glenn William Mehltretter III and his wife, Darlene and Daniel Mehltretter, and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ashley Mehltretter and Sarah Sneath. Carroll Workman, 84, of Huntington, husband of Mary Spurlock went to be with his Lord Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Huntington, a son of the late John and Mollie Hale Workman. He was retired from CSX and a longtime member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church. Also surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, William and Kitty Workman of Seminole, Fla., and John and Sue Workman of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Roy Paxton of Lakeland, Fla.; brother, Clyde Workman of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Billy and Darrell Workman, John Michael Workman, Sarah Ross and Steven, Jamie and Annette; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Cross Roads United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tim Halloran. Henson Mortuary, was in charge of arrangements.
John Wells
John Wells, 91, of Huntington passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004 in Heartland of Riverview. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by Pastor Don Wheeler. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born Feb. 17, 1913, in Morehead, Ky., a son of the late Willie and Phoebe Wells. He was a retired employee of INCO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Starkey Wells. He is survived by his daughter and one son-in-law, Darlene and Joe Rukse of Barbourville; one son, Mark Wells of Huntington; one sister, Irene Sprague of Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brooklynn Rukse, Justin Rukse and his fiancee, Molly Garvie, and Shelby Wells and two great-grandchildren, Amelia Garvie Rukse and Josie Garvie Rukse.

She was a former member of The Christian Church and of TOPS in Hurricane.

Luther Lee Adkins
Luther Lee Adkins, 79, of Hurricane died November 30, 2004, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was a retired maintenance foreman from Southern Ohio Coal Company and a former employee of Union Carbide, South Charleston, with 16 years of service. He attended Hurricane Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Olive Meeks Adkins.
Surviving: wife, Frances Wick Adkins; daughters, Delores “Sissy” Childers of Hurricane, Sandra Hanshaw of Eleanor, Alice Tickle of Tennessee, Carol Adkins of New Jersey, Debbie Vreeland of St. Albans, and Betty Araj of Georgia; sons, Leonard “Junior” Adkins of Pt. Pleasant, Steve Briscoe of Scott Depot and James Briscoe of Los Angeles, California; sister, Blanche Womack of St. Albans; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

Kevin G. Welch
Kevin G. Welch, 45, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Poca, died Sunday, November 14, 2004, in St. Mary's Hospital in Arizona after a long illness.
He was a member of the Nitro Moose Lodge and an avid bowler.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha M. Welch.
Surviving: father and stepmother, Paul Sr. and Frances Welch of Teays Valley; sisters, Bobbie Courtois of Main and Bonnie Kimmons of Florida; brothers, Paul Jr. of Nitro, Troy, Travis and Terry, all of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Essie Mae Johnson, 88, of Cross Lanes, formerly of Poca, died December 2, 2004, at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Johnson, granddaughter, Susan Lett, and parents, Georgia and Dave Cains.

Warren G. Casto
Warren G. Casto, 83, of Cross Lanes, formerly of Scott Depot, died December 2, 2004, in CAMC Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family.
He is a retired warehouse director from the WV ABC Commission, a former employee of Goodrich Gulf, a member of Cross Lanes United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the Methodist men and the seniors club. He was a member of the Nitro Masonic Lodge and the Beni Kedem Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Casto, his parents, Alva and Lura Casto, and sisters, Tressie and Gracie Casto and Gaynell Hoffman.
Surviving: daughters, Barbara Harrison, Karen and husband, Bill Cobb, Patty and husband, Butch Morgan, all of Cross Lanes; sister, Lola Mae Pennington of Red House; brother, Cecil Casto of Red House; six grandchildren, Greg and Todd Harrison, Scott and Chad Cobb, Phillip Morgan and Kara Morton; five great-grandchildren, Trevor Harrison, Aaron, Katie and Lindsey Cobb and Tessleigh Morton.

Vivian E. Allinder
Vivian E. Whittington Allinder, 87, formerly of Buffalo, died December 3, 2004, at Riverside Nursing Home, following a long illness.
She was a retired meat cutter from Buffalo Shopping Center, and a past member of Farm Women's Club of Buffalo. She was well known throughout the community for her quilting and crocheting ability.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl R Whittington Sr. and Florence Johnson Whittington, her husband, Perry Allinder, a daughter, Sharon Flannigan, and three sisters.
Surviving: two children; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a stepson, William R. “Bill” Allinder of Gibsonburg, Ohio; three sisters, Reba M. Phillips of Nitro, Macil Jividen and Ada Cain, both of Eleanor; three brothers, Earl R. Whittington Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, Gerald L. Higginbotham of St. Albans and Arliss V. Whittington of Buffalo; a grandchild by choice, Emma “Little Britches” Nazarewycz of Buffalo.
Service was held Monday, December 6, 2004, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with the Rev. Wayne Burch officiating. Burial was in Whittington Family Cemetery, Buffalo.
Sean M. Harris
Sean M. Harris, 14, died Friday, December 3, 2004, at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a short illness.
He was born January 15, 1990 at Stuart, Florida, the son of Chris J. and Teresa R. Raines Harris of Hurricane. He was a resident of Hurricane for six years. He was a student at Hurricane Middle School, a member of the school band and the basketball league, and a volunteer for the WV Horse Rescue Association, Red House.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Doris Harris, and his maternal grandparents, Charles K. “Duke” and Jeanni Raines, all of Hurricane; special aunt and uncle, Scott and Wendy Harris of Columbus, Ohio; and his cousins.
Service was held Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at First Baptist Church of Hurricane with Pastor Jeff Ransom officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane. Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, was in charge of arrangements.

Nancy P. McNeil
Nancy P. McNeil, 76, of Hurricane, formerly of Summerville, South Carolina, died December 3, 2004, at her brother's home following a long illness.
Born May 14, 1928 in Charleston, she was the daughter of Brown and Margaret Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles T. McNeil, and her brother, Russell.
She attended Stonewall Jackson High School, retired from the Handlemen Co. as a sales representative. She was a homemaker and mother and attended the Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving: daughters, Sherry Ann Clendenin of South Charleston and Diana Kay Smith of Leland, North Carolina; sisters, Wanda Cavender and Gertrude Miller of Belle, and Helen Jean Mustgrave of St. Albans; brother, Joseph Miller and wife, Denise, of Hurricane; two sisters-in-law, Ora Gay James and Maxine Robertson of Charleston; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
A Christian Memorial Service was held Monday, December 6, 2004, at Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. John Smith officiating. Her body was cremated and burial will be at sea off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina at a later date. Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, was in charge of arrangements.

Clara Frances McCormick
Mrs. Clara Frances Joy McCormick, 87, of Scott Depot died December 3, 2004, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Ivan Meadows of Nitro.
Born August 16, 1918 in Thurman, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Charles David and Lucy Ellen Perry Joy.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ralph McCormick, sister, Mae Joy Lacy Club, brothers, Everett, Lloyd, Ted, John and Ellis Joy, granddaughter, Tracy Ann Meadows.
She was the last surviving charter member of Scary Creek Church of God, Scott Depot.
Also surviving: daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Bob Walker of Scott Depot, Martha and the Rev. Gary Bennett of Myrtle Beach, Melissa and Rod Roe of Hamilton, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. David and Diana McCormick of Charleston; brother, Harry Joy of Moses Lake, Washington ; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Service was held Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with the Rev. Gary Bennett and Rod Roe officiating. Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
