Henry W. Dickerson, 85, of 106 Valentine St., Beckley, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill after a long illness.

MAPLEWOOD — James Harrison Fox, 71, of Maplewood, passed away suddenly Friday, June 22, 2007, in a motor vehicle accident.

Wilford Meadows

Wilford Meadows, 72, of Princewick, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007.

Born Oct. 13, 1934, he was the son of the late Edgar and Virginia Meadows.

Wilford enjoyed hunting, digging ginseng, videos, loved the outdoors, and also loved to collect antiques.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Deaton; a brother, Billy Joe Meadows; daughter-in-law, Dallas Meadows; and granddaughter, Amanda LeDawn Meadows.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marion Meadows; a son, Darrell Meadows and his wife, Donna, of Princewick; two daughters, Phyllis Powers and her husband, Brian, of Princewick and Brenda Walker and her husband, Weldon, of Egeria; twin brother, Willis Meadows of Princewick; five brothers, Stevie Meadows and his wife, Vicky, of Princewick and Charles Meadows, Dennis Meadows and his wife, Barbara, Junior Meadows and his wife, Ann, and Jimmy Meadows and his wife, Phatima, all of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Burnette and her husband, Jim, of Michigan and Peggy Heizer of Dayton; four grandchildren, Darrell Ray Meadows Jr., Tabitha Bell, Christopher Bell and Michael Powers; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Leona Milam Parrish

Leona Milam Parrish, of Russell Street, Beckley, passed away in a Beckley care center following a long illness. She was 80 years of age.

HINTON — Ronald Lee Smith, 57, of Hinton, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, following a short illness.

Gary W. Stover

FENWICK, Mich. — Gary W. Stover, born Feb. 27, 1943, at Clear Creek, died April 1, 2007, at the age of 64.

Mr. Stover was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, and had retired from Fisher Body.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Orpha (Williams) Stover; sister, Betty; brothers, Roy, Keith, Blaine, Basil Andrew Jr. and Jackie Jay; and his beloved dog, Drum.

Surviving are his daughter, Deborah (Don) Cooper of Portland, Mich.; son, Tobin Stover of Fenwick; grandchildren, Dylan and Dalton Cooper and Amanda Stover; brothers, Kermit Stover of Greenville and Winfred Stover of Renick; sister, Agnes Stover-Tote of Princeton; several nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Faye Scarbro, and her family; special friend, Mary Williams; and his four-legged companion, Tater.

Memorial service will be held in West Virginia at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at Burrell’s Branch cemetery.

Kathleen S. Timberlake

PITTSBURGH — Kathleen S. Timberlake, 92, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Hinton, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Country Meadows Nursing Facility in Pittsburgh following a long illness.

Audrey Wahl

Longtime Fairdale resident Audrey Wahl died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Raleigh General Hospital. She was in her 98th year.

Born Audrey Irene Phipps on June 9, 1909, in Fayette County, Mrs. Wahl was the third of 12 children. Her parents were Walter Phipps and Lottie Mae Smith Phipps.

A lifelong homemaker, Mrs. Wahl married Jesse Wahl on May 18, 1927. The couple soon moved into a two-bedroom house on Spanker Branch Road in Fairdale, where they raised eight children.

Family and Christian principles were the cornerstones of Mrs. Wahl’s long life. Her house bustled throughout her life with the comings and goings of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for her generosity and graciousness and her love of cooking for family, friends and neighbors. Education also was important to Mrs. Wahl. She insisted that all of her children receive high school diplomas. She spoke of her own school years into her final years of her life and recited poetry she learned in school into her 90s.

Mrs. Wahl is survived by six daughters, Edith and Maxine, both of Fairdale, Janice (and Dwaine) Price of Elizabethton, Tenn., Carol (and Jim) Phillips of Brunswick, Ohio, Shirley Daniel of Kingston, Tenn., and Marcia Elaine (and Ed) Gay of Tega Cay, S.C.; surviving sons are Don (and Treva) of Lester and Orville Bolin of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by a sister, Edna Tessa of Bluefield, as well as 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Wahl was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jesse; their son, Roger; and two sons who died shortly after birth.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Dewey Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway cemetery, Glen Daniel.

Friends may call one hour before service Monday.

Nina E. Wilson Weese

HURRICANE — Nina E. Wilson Weese, 99, of Hurricane, was born July 28, 1907, and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2007, at Hubbard Hospice Place, Charleston.

Nina was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by her family and dear friends.

She was the daughter of Abraham and Edna Sabina Wilson. Mrs. Weese was a resident of Nicholas County (Leivasy) for many years. She made her home in recent years with her daughter, Phyllis Amick, in Hurricane.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband, James Ross Weese; daughter, Janet; son-in-law, William H. Amick; six brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis Amick of Hurricane and Elbon Weese and wife, Marty, of Dublin, Ohio; grandchildren, Gary Amick and wife, Kathi, of Hurricane, Brenda Corbett and husband, Barry, of Raleigh, N.C., Peggy Weese of Columbus, Ohio, Linda Lyons and husband, Michael, of Dublin, Ohio, and Penny Fowler and husband, Brian, of Canel Winchester, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Aaron Amick and his wife, Tara, Todd Amick and Kalynn Amick, all of Hurricane, Jennifer Miller and husband, Zack, of El Paso, Texas, and Danielle French of Raleigh, N.C.; and sister, Anna Bell Hoskins of Belair, Md.

Service will be 2 a.m. Monday at Simons-Coleman Funeral Home, Richwood, with Rev. Clay O’Dell and the Rev. Hugh Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Nettie.

Friends may call noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Emory W. ‘Jack’ Anderson

Emory W. “Jack” Anderson, age 71, of Beckley, formerly of Prince, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, following a long illness.

Born at McKendree, on July 2, 1935, he was the son of Maggie McGuffin Anderson of Hilltop, and the late Emery R. Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was retired from the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

Mr. Anderson had proudly served at the White House under President Dwight Eisenhower’s Staff. Mr. Anderson had retired from the WV Turnpike Commission, where he had worked as an electrician, and in his early years of his life, he had been employed by the C&O Railroad.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the Packs Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Delma Domingues Anderson; his son, Emory Wesley Anderson, II, of Beckley; three brothers, James P. Anderson and wife Alice of Maple Fork, David K. Anderson and wife Sandy of Milwaukee, Wis., and Pastor Thomas Anderson and wife Julie of Beckley; a sister, Judith Appler of Oak Hill; two grandchildren, Steven Wesley Anderson of Beckley and Gage Adam Anderson of Lou-isville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Thomas Anderson officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley.

Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern WV, P.O. Box 1472, Beckley, WV.

KOPPERSTON — Georgia Green Booth, 87, of Kopperston, departed this life Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Welch Hospital, following a long illness.

Mary Louise Dunn

PETERSTOWN, W.Va. — Mary Louise Dunn, 88, of Peterstown, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007. Born Aug. 1, 1918, at Lindside, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Russell L. and Juda C. Dillion Dickson. Mrs. Dunn was a member of the Peterstown Missionary Baptist Church, the O.E.S. Chapter #118, Peterstown, W.Va.; Louise and her husband were co-owners of the Pee-Dee Drive Inn between Narrows and Rich Creek, Va., and she served as cook at the Peterstown Elementary School for several years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Dunn; four sisters, Mae Harvey, Thelma Comer, Ruth Guynn, and Madge Ferguson; two brothers, Fleet and Edgar Dickson.

Survivors include one son, Marshall Dunn and wife Mary, of Peterstown, W.Va.; two daughters, Betty Mann of Peterstown, W.Va., and Sue Mann and husband Jerry all of Bozoo, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Lane Mann, Chris Mann and wife Karen, Lisa Kessinger and husband Chad, Shawn Mann, Katie Mann, Jonathan Dunn, Julie Boggs and husband Billy; one great-granddaughter, Kara Mann; several nieces and nephews; and a very close niece, Libby Clark.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, W.Va., with Rev. Jonathan Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard cemetery, Ballard, W.Va.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, June 25, 2007, at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. by members of the Peterstown O.E.S. Chapter #118.

Shirley I. Farrugia, age 75, of Belleville, passed away June 23, 2007.

Beloved mother Regina (Manny) Fifo, Larry (Josephine) Farrugia, Mary (Stephen) Martin, Victoria Farrugia and Susan (Joseph) Nossal. Dearest grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of five. Loving sister of Inez Hawley. She is also survived by her dear friend, Charles Mosher, of Monroe, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Edith Keller.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home (next to Michigan Memorial Park), 30895 Huron River Drive, Huron Twp., (734) 783-2646. Entombment in Michigan Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 until 9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Heart and Vascular Center.
