Susan Lucy Bragg, 94, of Sullivan, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness.
Born June 4, 1911, at Sullivan, she was the daughter of the late James Everett Richmond and Sally Beth Jones Richmond.
Mrs. Bragg was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith and a born-again Christian. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She lived in the Sullivan area most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Bragg, four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include a son, Ray Bragg and wife, Debbie, of Coal City; daughters, Helen West of Coal City, Eva Bragg at home and Eresell Troxell of Westminster, Md.; brothers, Fred Richmond of Glen Morgan and Charlie Richmond of Crab Orchard; sister, Myrtle Lamb of Crab Orchard; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Clarence Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Tilden cemetery, Sullivan.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Grandsons and family members will serve as pallbearers.

Danny Coffman
Danny Keith Coffman, 67, of Terry, passed away Wed-nesday, April 19, 2006, at Terry. He was the son of the late Frederick L. Coffman and Alberta Price Coffman of Beckley.
Danny loved baseball, auto racing and working outdoors.
In addition to his father, a brother, Fred Lee Coffman Jr., and two nephews, Troy and Mitchell Lambert, preceded Danny in death.
In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include three sisters, Evelyn Kershner of Cool Ridge, Brenda Kuhn of Nitro and Linda Lilly of Spanishburg; and two brothers, Jackie Coffman of Minden and Sherrill Coffman of Lebanon, Tenn.
Graveside committal of Danny’s ashes will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a flower or tree be planted in Danny’s memory.

Diana Day
LANCASTER, Ky. — Diana Day, 50, of Kennedy Ridge Road, Lancaster, died Wednesday, April 19, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Leon Richard Hudson and Betty Arthur Hudson.
Diana was a homemaker and a member of God’s Landmark Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Curtis Johnson; and brother, Ricky Hudson.
Diana leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Freddy Day; two sons: Larry Criss of Lancaster and Roger Criss of Mercer County; a stepson, Christopher Day of Lancaster; a daughter: Misty Justice (Bill) of Lancaster; a stepdaughter, Emilie Day of Lancaster; a brother, Freddie Hacker of West Virginia; five sisters, Debra Tyler (Donald), Deanna Marsh, Drema Domingues, Donna Jean Davis (Matthew) and Mary Johnson, all of West Virginia; and five grandchildren, Miranda, Jessica and Billy Justice, and Harley and Laurel Criss.
Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Kilsyth Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Rawlings officiating. Burial will follow at Arthur Family cemetery.

Domenick Franciose
RUPERT — Domenick Franciose, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at his home in Rupert.
Born Oct. 26, 1913, in Pettorano, Italy, he was the son of the late Angelo and Filomena DiPietro Franciose.
He was co-owner and operator of the Imperial Smokeless Coal Co., a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Rainelle and a former member of the Elks and Moose Clubs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Maria DiPietro, and a brother, Fred Franciose.
Survivors include his wife, Ermelinda Franciose of Bos-ton, Mass.; a daughter, Anna Guglielmi of Medford, Mass.; a son, Angelo Franciose of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Iola DiCenzo of Italy; a sister-in-law, Rose Franciose of St. Albans; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a special friend, Margie Sweet; a special cousin, Elda DiMascio and her husband, Benny; caregivers, Theresa Thompson and Della Lilly; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rainelle, with Father Arthur Bufogle officiating. Rite of committal will be at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.

Edward C. Ashworth
DEWEY, Ariz. — Edward Clayton Ashworth, 87, formerly of Gauley Bridge and Fayetteville, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, in Arizona following an extended illness.
Mr. Ashworth served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Fayetteville United Methodist Church and Prescott Valley United Methodist Church, Prescott Valley, Ariz.
He graduated from Huntington East High School and West Virginia Tech, Montgomery, with a degree in accounting and business administration.
He worked at Union Carbide, Alloy, for 33 years, was controller at Summersville Hospital, and he worked for Fayette County Child Development Inc. in Oak Hill.
Mr. Ashworth was past president of Gauley Bridge Lions Club and the Fayette County Shrine Club, a 50-plus-year member of the Beni Kedem Temple, Scottish Rites, Shriner, Fayette County Shrine Club and Aztlan Lodge No. 1 in Prescott, Ariz.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Wilhelmina Marie Ashworth; sons, retired Capt. Michael Ashworth of Dewey and retired Lt. Col. Jeffrey and his wife, Mary Ashworth, of Prescott; his former wife, Rebecca of West Virginia; granddaughters, Amy Elizabeth Ashworth of Southwestern Academy in Rimrock, Ariz., and Julie Ashworth LaFay of Phoenix, Ariz.; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Marie Ashworth of Southwestern Academy in Rimrock; a brother, Clay Ashworth of Wilson, N.C.; and two sisters, Jewel Quinn of Tampa, Fla., and Norma Jean Slavens of Wurtland, Ky.
Graveside service will be 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Ansted. Military rites will be conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post 3110.
The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, before proceeding to the cemetery in procession.

SCARBRO — Jimmie Lee Booker, 74, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Hospice House, Beckley, following a lengthy illness.
Born March 13, 1932, in Waverly, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Jimmie Jones and Everleaner Wooden.
Mrs. Booker was a member of New Hope Baptist Church at Whipple.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley L. Lewis; a brother, Johnny Jones; and a sister, Rosa Parks.
Survivors include three sons, Roy A. Jones of Dayton, Ohio, and Raymond D. Jones and James S. Lewis, both of Scarbro; a daughter, Deborah Y. Alexander and husband, James, of Roanoke, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at New Hope Baptist Church, Whipple, with the Rev. Freddie A. Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour before service Friday at the church.

Corbin Quess Carter
LEWISBURG — Corbin Quess Carter, 5-month-old infant son of Monica Dawn Walker of Lewisburg and Corbett Maurice Carter of Beckley, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea.
Mr. Ellison was a chemical engineer in the manufacturing industry. He came to the Florida area in 1976 from Pinehurst, N.C. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in chemical engineering where he also played football and tennis. He later worked for Union Carbide/Dow Chemical and retired as the Electrodes Division sales manager. He was a member of Coronado Community United Methodist Church, life member of BPO Elks Lodge No. 1452 of Beckley and past member of Sugar Mill Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Charley (Wilson) Ellison, and a sister, Julia Ann Casey of Beckley.
