LENOIR, N.C. — Bernadine Kay Janney Smith, 62, of Lenoir, formerly of Pax, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at her home following a long illness.
Born June 19, 1943, in Charleston, she was the daughter of Aileen McGraw Janney of Pax and the late James Seibert Janney.
Bernadine was a disabled owner of Commercial Cleaning Services at Lenoir. She was a graduate of Mount Hope High School, Class of 1960.
Other than her mother, survivors include a brother, Wayne Janney and wife, Peggy, of Muncie, Ind., and a niece, Sally Kay Blackburn of Hurricane.
Graveside service and burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Geneva Browning Trent
GREENVILLE — Geneva Browning Trent, 70, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005.

Harold Williams
Harold Williams, 79, of Shady Spring, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness.
Born April 18, 1926, at Shady Spring, he was the son of the late Lennie Cooper Williams and Owen Williams.
Harold was owner of Williams Top Shop in Beckley for 50 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was stationed on a small island in the Pacific called Iwo Jima.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Richmond Williams, on Sept. 11, 2004; five brothers, Noel, Norvel, Oval, Earl and Eden; and six sisters, Ina, Lena, Edith, Willie, Virginia and Nita.
Survivors include his son, Eddie of Shady Spring; a brother, Herbert Williams of Johnson City, Tenn.; and a large extended family.
Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Shady Spring, with the Rev. Delvin Elwell and the Rev. Joe Pizzino officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jim Lowry, Eugene Lilly, William Phillips, O’Neal Phipps, George Cook, Jim Chambers, Fred McMillion and Wayne Farley. WHARNCLIFFE — Carl Henry Wolford Jr., two-month, one-day old infant son of Carl Henry Wolford and Wanda Sue Ellis Hurley of Wharncliffe, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2005.

Mildred Louise Blankenship
Mildred Louise Blankenship, 80, of Rockhouse Rd., Fairdale, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1925, at Mico, she was the daughter of the late Ida Grimm Farmer and Tom Farmer.
Mildred was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the Monaville Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert Blankenship in 1983; a son, Robert Blankenship Jr.; a brother, Tommy Farmer; and a sister, Opal Simpson.
Survivors include a daughter, Roberta Conley and husband, Randy, of Fairdale; a granddaughter, Sherry Hendricks and her husband, Keith, of Antioch, Tenn.; a grandson, Christopher Conley of Lebanon, Tenn.; three sisters, Betty Jarrell and her husband, Ray, of Columbus, Ohio, Carl Reed and her husband, Chuck, of Parkton, N.C., and Judy McComas of Westmore, Mich.
The family of Mildred Blankenship would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and nurses who treated her during her sickness.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairdale Freewill Baptist with Pastor Dean Adams officiating. Committal service and entombment will follow at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Highland Memory Gardens, Chapmanville.

Irene Byrd Bolling
HINTON — Irene Byrd Bolling, 78, of Southside, Hinton, died Monday morning, Oct. 10, 2005, at her home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 15, 1927, in Raleigh County, she was a daughter of the late William Clinton and Lucinda Wood Byrd and had lived most of her life in Raleigh County.
Mrs. Bolling was a former employee of Maiden Form and Delco Co.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Garland Byrd; and two sisters, Alberta Foley and Wanda Teets.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Fred Bolling, at home; and a daughter, Rosemary Williamson Winebarger and her husband, Donald, of Atkins, Va.
Graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. today at Restwood Memorial Gardens near Hinton with Travis Wirt officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Mildred ‘Milly’ Bennett
LEWISBURG — Mildred Irene “Milly” Bennett, 68, formerly of Caldwell, departed on Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, from her home in Lewisburg to her heavenly reunion, surrounded by her children.
Milly was born Oct. 18, 1937, at White Sulphur Springs, and was the daughter of the late Otho C. and Clarice Long Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 51 years, Robert A. “Buddy” “Bennett, on June 4, 2005; a sister, Annette Deaver; and in-laws, Joe and Leta Bennett.
Milly was in food services at Greenbrier East High School for 29 years. Baking, cooking and goodie making for her family and friends were her passion and pastime. She was an active member of Lewisburg Community Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Broyles and husband, Jeff, of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, Robert A. “Robbie” Bennett Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Caldwell and Joseph W. “Joe” Bennett and wife, Linda, of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Holli Bennett, Rob Bennett, Traci, Darrel and Samantha Krinke, Jennifer Bennett and husband, Travis, Emily Bennett and Shanea Broyles; great-granddaughters, Emma Kay Bennett and Delanie Krinke; sister, Linda McClung and husband, Larry, of Anniston, Ala.; twin brother, Otho C. Wright Jr. of Lewisburg; brother-in-law, Jack Deaver of White Sulphur Springs; sisters-in-law, Eurcell Erwin, Janice Depriest, Genevieve Taylor and husband, Alfred; and several nieces and nephews.

Edith Frances Vegh Bowling
OAK HILL — Edith Frances Vegh Bowling, 79, of Pea Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at Plateau Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Born Aug. 16, 1926, at Minden, she was the daughter of the late Andy Vegh Sr. and Fannie Grandetti Vegh.
She was a devoted wife, mother and sister and a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Edith loved to cook, play cards and spend time with her family. She devoted her life to caring for others and will always be remembered for the unconditional love she gave to everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bowling; two brothers, Johnny Vegh and Andy Bodnar; and two sisters, Elizabeth Crone and Margaret Vegh.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Ann O’Neal and her husband, Greg, of Oak Hill, who made their home next door to Edith; a grandson, Travis O’Neal of Morgantown, and her grand-dog, Number One; and two sisters, Helen Saplak of Stuarts Draft, Va., and Lillian Phillips and her husband, Carl, of Oak Hill. She had many nieces and nephews who loved her, including “pajama party buddie” Edie Davis.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Charles B. Teufel and Pastor Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

RAINELLE — Alan Wayne Bragg, 35, died suddenly Sunday afternoon Jan. 29, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Bedford County, Va.
Born Jan. 3, 1971, at Richwood, he was the son of Jerry Wayne Bragg of Rainelle and Vicky Star O’Dell of Meadow Bluff.
Alan was a member of Gorden Freewill Baptist Church at Charmco, and a past member of Rainelle Moose Lodge No. 1647.
He was a construction worker for a core drilling business.
Survivors include his companion, Reneé Bragg of Rainelle; father, Jerry Wayne Bragg of Rainelle; mother, Vicky Star O’Dell of Meadow Bluff; stepdaughter, Jennifer Householder; stepson, Jeff Householder; sisters, Patricia “Sissy” Bragg of Quinwood and Nikki Louise Bragg of Rainelle; a brother, Cody Caruthers of Rainelle; stepbrother, Wayne Caruthers of Maxwelton; grandparent, Darrell O’Dell of Lewisburg; great-grandmother, Charlotte Sheppard of Charmco; and nephews, Trey and Troy Anderson.
