Myrtle Sears Romanello
CLIFTON FORGE, Va. — Myrtle Sears Romanello, 86, of 805 Kensington Ave., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond.
She was born in Hinton, W.Va., on Nov. 18, 1918, a daughter of the late Wesley and Cora Ellen Richmond Sears.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Upland Baptist Church in Hinton. She was a devoted mother and housewife and an avid gardener. She was happiest when working in her vegetable garden, canning her vegetables and caring for her family. She will be remembered for her great love of flowers, her pets and most all her family. She was caring and loving and always concerned about the welfare of those around her, even as she lay exhausted and in pain during her last weeks of her life.
She is survived by a daughter, Madeline R. Lilly of Richmond; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Romanello of Clifton Forge and by John and Irene Romanello of Clifton Forge; five grandchildren, Carolyn Atkinson and her husband, Irvin, Eugene Romanello, Jeffrey Romanello, Tommy Gravely, Joann Fisher; great-grandchildren, Ryan Romanello, Kalinda Romanello, Donna Atkinson and Tim Atkinson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Chester James Romanello; a daughter, Wanda Bistodeau; a son, James Joseph Romanello and two children at infancy.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Upland Baptist Church, Hinton, with the Rev. Roger L. Bush officiating. Interment will follow in the Romanello Family cemetery, Hinton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Nicely Funeral Home, 405 Alleghany St., Clifton Forge, Va. The family will receive friends also on Wednesday at 12 noon until time of the service at the Upland Baptist Church, Hinton.

Randy Lee Shelton, two-day-old infant son of Jeremy and Jill Janney Shelton of Cabell Heights, Beckley, became God’s little angel on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at a Morgantown hospital.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Lionel Elizabeth Addington, 76, of 207 Sterling Springs Drive, Johnson City, left this life suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Born March 21, 1929, at Burks Garden, Va., she was the daughter of the late Lionel Charles Smith and Grace Short Smith Gose Galloway.
Ms. Addington was a homemaker and a member of Elizabeth Chapel Methodist Church at Bluff City, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Donald Addington Sr., in February 1996.
Survivors include two sons, B.D. Addington Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lionel Luther Addington of Johnson City; a daughter, Dona Addington-Fisher of Fayetteville; a stepson, Donald Edward Addington and wife, Jean Elizabeth, of Jumping Branch; a sister, Hilah May Moore of High Point, N.C.; a granddaughter, Lionel Elizabeth Ray-Anne Fisher of Fayetteville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. today at Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton, with the Revs. Walt and Kathern Mullins officiating.

Clinton G. Forren
YORKTOWN, Va. — Clinton G. Forren, 77, formerly of Meadow Bridge, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at his home following a long illness.
Born Feb. 26, 1928, at Beelick Knob, he was the son of the late Lonnie E. and Ella Smith Forren.
Mr. Forren was an electrician in the coal mines and of the Baptist faith.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Vearl Edward Forren; two brothers, Charles and Vearl Forren; and three sisters, Betty Bailey, Thelma Sproles and Laura Forren.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Martin Forren; two daughters, Lisa Elburn and husband, Bill, of Yorktown and Stacy Riffe and husband, Vincent, of Ripley; two brothers, Fred Forren and wife, Audrey, of Brenton and Joseph Forren and wife, Florence, of Fairlea; four sisters, Mae Young of Dayton, Ohio, Mildred Bowyer and husband, Charles, of Danese and Leta Hann and Marie Forren, both of Lewisburg; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Elburn and Elijah and Isaiah Riffe.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Martin cemetery, Crickmer, with the Rev. Jack Miller officiating.

Jack Thomas Lilly
Jack Thomas Lilly, 77, of Sunset Drive, Beckley, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at his home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 23, 1928, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Jesse R. Lilly Sr. and Gustava Davis Lilly.
Mr. Lilly spent his childhood in Beckley on Dixie Avenue and was a 1947 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He graduated from Beckley College in 1950 with a degree in business administration and from Glenville State College in 1952 with a Bachelor’s degree in business education and social studies. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He taught and coached in McDowell County at Coalwood Junior High School. He was a wage and hour investigator with the Department of Labor and retired from the Veterans Administration in 1985 where he had served as chief of voluntary service and public information officer.
He was a member of Beckley Regular Baptist Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Senior Friends and Well, I’ll Bee.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Jim” Lilly and Jesse R. Lilly Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ethel Hunter Lilly; a son, John Thomas Lilly of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Susan Lilly Gerock and her husband, James, of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Ruth Bennett and her husband, Albert, of Beckley; two brothers, Bill Lilly and his wife, Carol, of Beckley and Gene Lilly and his wife, Amanda, of Staunton, Va.; and two sisters-in-law, Anne Lilly of Glenville and Myrtle Lou Lilly of Oak Hill.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Jason Naff officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Beckley.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lucille Hall Taylor
RUPERT — Lucille Hall Taylor, 95, passed away quietly on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Heartland of Rainelle nursing home following an extended illness.
Born June 19, 1910, on the family farm at Amwell (which is now a part of Western Greenbrier Junior High School), she was a daughter of the late John Allen and Mae Winebrenner Hall.
She was a lifelong resident of Rupert, residing at Autumn Way Personal Care Home for two years before going to Heartland of Rainelle for the past nine months.
Mrs. Taylor graduated from Smoot High School, Alderson Junior Academy and Alderson-Broaddus College, receiving a B.A. degree in elementary education in 1931. She taught in several one- and two-room schools, such as Marfrance, Nuttersville, Russellville, Crawley and Rupert Elementary. After retiring in 1975 with 42 years of teaching, she enjoyed doing yard work and taking care of her beloved dogs. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kanawha Chapter No. 38 in Montgomery, a member of the Greenbrier County Retired Teachers Association, a member of Amwell Baptist Church for many years and a 4-H leader in the Crawley area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Taylor, in 1966; two sisters, Margaret (Hall) Gilmore and Ann (Hall) Hunter; a brother, George Robert “Bob” Hall; and stepmother, Mollie (Deitz) Hall.
Survivors include a daughter, Jonna Fran Taylor of Rupert; a very special niece, Janice (Hunter) Dodd and husband, John Jr., of Lewisburg; a very special nephew and niece, Ronald Hunter and wife, Doris, of Dublin, Va., and Anava MacKay and husband, John Sr., of Woodbridge, Va.; and several great- and great-great-nieces, nephews and cousins from the Hall, Winebrenner and Taylor families.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wallace Memorial cemetery, Clintonville, with the Rev. Robert Newman officiating. Burial will follow.
White flights will be released at the graveside service. There will be no evening visitation.

OAK HILL — Evelyn H. Wade, 88, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, following a short illness.
Born Sept. 14, 1917, at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late John and Susan Conley Roach.
Mrs. Wade was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husbands, David Wade and Joe Treadway; a daughter, Pauline Hunter; four grandchildren, Chad, Lisa, David and Billy Ray; and a great-grandchild, Erica.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Wade and wife, Sandi, of Oak Hill; four daughters, Margaret Martin and Linda Kincaid of Oak Hill, Sandra Adkins and husband, Harold, of Hilltop and Carol Hurt and husband, Michael, of Oak Hill; and a special granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Treadway of Oak Hill; 12 other grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
