Brooklynn Paige Scott
CYCLONE — Brooklynn Paige Scott, stillborn infant daughter of Steven Scott and Samantha Maynor, became an angel Monday, March 12, 2007, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Brooklynn was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Roger Scott.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Steven Scott and Samantha Maynor of Cyclone; a brother, Austin Maynor at home; a sister, Haley Scott at home; maternal grandparents, Roger and Brenda Maynor of Cyclone; paternal grandmother, Marsha Daniels of Cyclone; an uncle, Benjamin Scott of Seth; and two aunts, Amanda Maynor of Kopperston and Crystal Lusk and her husband, Lauren, of Cyclone.
Service for Brooklynn will be 1 p.m. today at Cyclone Church of God with the Rev. Kennis Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Family cemetery, Cyclone.
The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Trooper Jonathan P. Seabolt
WEST UNION, Ohio — Trooper Jonathan Paul Seabolt, 24, formerly of Fenwick Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, due to an ATV accident.
He was a 2001 graduate of Richwood High School. He was accepted in the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy on Dec. 1, 2004. He graduated from the academy on June 3, 2005. Jonathan was stationed at Post No. 8 at Georgetown, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Emery Lynch; and his paternal grandmother, Nettie Mae Seabolt.
Survivors include his loving wife and soul mate, Brittany Seabolt; parents, Michael E. and Scarlett Seabolt of Fenwick Mountain; maternal grandmother, V. Marie Lynch of Fenwick Mountain; two brothers, Trooper Michael Shay Seabolt and wife, Shawna, of Marietta, Ohio, and Benjamin Seabolt of Fenwick Mountain; four sisters, Tabitha Casto and husband, Michael, of Canvas, Teresa Seabolt of Gaithersburg, Md., and Amber and Andrea Seabolt, both of Fenwick Mountain; two nieces, Renee and Amanda Seabolt of Marietta; and a nephew, Clayton Seabolt of Marietta, Ohio.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the Richwood High School Auditorium.

Ila ‘Sherry’ Brown Snuffer
Ila “Sherry” Brown Snuffer, 56, of Fairdale, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2007, at her residence following a short illness.
Born Nov. 1, 1950, at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Lee E. and Velva Ethel Allen Eller.
Sherry was a member of Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed serving God and being with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, mamaw, sister and friend. Sherry will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Brown Sr., and a brother, Larry Eugene Eller.
Survivors include her husband, Larry A. Snuffer; a son, Charlie Brown Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Surveyor; a daughter, Angel Davis and her husband, Jim, of Glen Fork; five grandchildren, Haleigh and Elijah Brown and Hope, Faith and Megan Davis; a sister, Linda Tolliver of Ravencliff; two brothers, Lee Eller and his wife, Linda, of Brook Park, Ohio, and Leonard Eller and his wife, Betty, of Pineville; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church of God cemetery, Milam.

Emerald Dawn Wright, age 3, of Beaver, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Hinton.
Born Nov. 15, 2003, in Clinton, N.C., she was the daughter of David Allen and April Dawn Wright.
She enjoyed watching Dora, playing dress-up and scribbling.

Luther B. Aliff
MOSSY — Luther B. Aliff, 69, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, following a four-year battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 7, 1938, at Mossy, he was the son of the late Hilmer H. and Emma Keffer Aliff.
Mr. Aliff was an oil and chemical worker, UMWA coal miner and Teamster truck mechanic. But his most favorite job of all was being a transport specialist for The Rivermen Whitewater Rafting in Fayetteville. He was a U.S. Air Force and Marine Reserves veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lydia Ruth and Vera June Aliff; and three brothers, Walter Oliver Aliff, Earl Franklin Aliff and Donald Dean Aliff.
Survivors include his wife, Carma Jean Smith Aliff; a daughter, Laura Jean Aliff of Mossy; three sons, Lyle T. Aliff and wife, Susan, of Oak Hill, Luther Shaun Aliff of Mossy and Lester D. Aliff and wife, Damita Lea, of Oak Hill; grandsons, Lyle T. Aliff Jr., Kristian Aaron Aliff and Jonathan Kevin Aliff, all of Oak Hill; granddaughter, Dianne Marie Scarbro and husband, Edward, of Shady Spring; great-grandchildren, Morgan Taylor, Katie Lynn and Emily Grace of Shady Spring; three brothers, Homer H. Aliff and wife, Lorna, of Mossy, Henry Aliff of Mount Airy, Md., and Hilmer J. Aliff and wife, Stella, of Mount Nebo; two sisters, Brenda Scarbro and husband, Jerry, of Mossy and Linda Reed and husband, Kelly, of Mount Airy, Md.; a multitude of nieces and nephews; and four extra special girls from Berea, Ohio.

Ballard Roger Baker, age 80, of Barkers Ridge, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Baker was a former factory worker. He had made his home at Barkers Ridge for the past 10 years.
Survivors include three sisters; and special friends and care givers, Bill and Brenda Bishop of Barkers Ridge.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Shady Spring Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Clarence Shrewsberry cemetery, Barkers Ridge.

Edna Iris Bane
LYNCO — Edna Iris Bane, 77, of Lynco, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Heartland of Beckley following a short illness.
Born Aug. 20, 1929, at McGraws, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Essie Polk Bane.
Edna attended Newfound Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, canning and being outdoors.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Zane Bane and Glen Bane, and a sister, Margie Bane, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four brothers, Dale Bane of Crouch’s Farm, Franklin D. Bane of Lillydale, Bill Bane of Chicago, Ill., and Gene Bane of Lillydale; a sister, Jessie Thompson of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with Elder Jerry Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the McDonald cemetery, Crouch’s Farm.
Friends may call noon until time of service Monday.

DANESE — Betty Jo Crowe, 66, passed away Thursday morning, April 19, 2007, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born July 2, 1940, in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Lucy Schiller.
Betty was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Otis Crowe, in 1991; two sons, Melvin A. Crowe and Danny Crowe; three sisters and a brother.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Lou Ellis of Bear Creek, N.C., and Amber Dawn Crowe of Siler City, N.C.; five sons, James W. Crowe of Bear Creek, Roger Crowe Sr. of Danese, Gary D. Crowe of Lumberton, N.C., Timothy Alan Burnsfield of Raleigh, N.C., and Roger Crowe Jr. of Wendell, N.C.; four sisters, Anna Turner of Ohio, Mary Dancy of North Carolina, Belle Young of West Virginia and Violet Rafferty of Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle, with Mr. Roger Crowe Jr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. Allen Whitt. Burial will follow in Layland cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
